I am torn between hating and loving 500 days of summer.

This movie is waay deeper than you'd initially think. Tom was projecting an idea onto Summer, thay she'd be his perfect manic pixie dream girl, when she clearly states in the beginning that she doesn't want commitment. And when his idealistic version of her doesn't pan out he gets bitter. We shouldn't put people on an idealistic pedestal and then get disappointed when our fantasies don't play out, because then *you aren't in love with them, you are in love with the IDEA of them.* That's the whole point of the movie.

I love 500 days of summer, but this song and the movie together... it’s a whole mood 😭

At first we hated summer because we see little bit of ourselves in Tom. We all have fall in love with the idea of a person who is not going to love us back.

Honestly she was there for me when shit really hit the fan, I was hurting damn near everyday. But then I’d just get a glimpse of her gorgeous hazel eyes she made me feel like I was only person in the room, like I was worth something. I told her everything, and it was almost every conversation was sad, she noticed that. She eventually lost interest. It’s been almost 8 months, and every time I see her I miss her more and more. No girl I’ve talked to after even compares and the one thing that still get me, was the beautiful hazel eyes.

I think one of the hardest things is loving someone and knowing that they will never feel the same. It kind of ends up with you trying to be their best friend and king sure that they’re happy even if it’s with another guy/girl. And even though it hurts deep down you can be happy to know they they are happy. It sucks.

i feel like this song isnt about falling in love with your bestfriend, but rather loving them in a whole new way, different from your brother/sister or your significant other.they're someone you share all your secrets with, with zero fear of judgement, they one with who you will joke about stupid shit and just laugh openly, the person who understands you without words. if you have that with a best friend, you're lucky, keep it that way.

I love this movie. It's such a realistic depiction of real life failed relationships. I could connect and relate to both summer and tom at certain moments in the movie.

This is actually the video that i first heard about the movie from. ever. and now its one of my favorites. its so thought-out, and just such a comfort movie. I can see both sides of the characters, i love them all, i love the movie in general. Thank you so much to the person who created this. You executed the movie really well and turned it into and even greater piece of art. You made it look so interesting that i HAD to watch the movie and im so glad i did. You are truly and artist, and have so much potential.

It's so cliche to fall in love with your best friend, but it's hard not too when your best friend is the best person ever and is everything you want. I love my bestfriend she's everything I need and want, but it's not gonna happen. She's going to continue dating g dumbass people and getting hurt and all I can do is watch and be there for her

I’ve watched 500 days like about 7 times already and each time I watch I realize that Tom is in the wrong and not summer. She tells him early on in the beginning that she doesn’t want anything serious but Tom keeps pushing for a relationship and in real life that’s a no no. You’re in charge of your own happiness :) leaving someone is okay. In the end character development for everyone.

I love the mix of this film "500 Days of Summer" and the song "Best Friend". This film has a deep meaning especially for me, the relationship between Tom and her best friend and the summer. I've ever had a crush on my best friend, she was beautiful and so kind to me, but it's a little bit hard for me to say to her that I love her. I got dilemma of it but it's okay. I always love her.

I haven't talked to my best friend for almost a year now because he confessed that he's in love with me and my boyfriend came to know about it and it didn't feel right anymore to hang out with him alone but I miss him so much, at the same time I love my boyfriend and don't want to do anything to risk what we have. Its a different kind of heartbreak. Sometimes I wish he never told me.

It genuinely sucks when you are still in love with your best friend who really changed you and showed you real love while it lasted, me and him promised each other we will always be best friends no matter what even if the vibe isn’t the same anymore.
