I wish they had done a DX version of this but with the like shoulder jet pack things that Unit 02 uses to drop in from the air.

Probably way too ambitious compared to the other DX sets, but I would've loved to be able to get the big broken ship for Eva-02 to hold up like in EoE.

Would've been nice but sadly these are the rebuild Evas which I don't hate but I honestly prefer the TV versions. Maybe they'll use the frame of these kits to do that at some point, would be really cool.

I think the DX version for 02 should include parts for the Beta and Gamma configurations, mainly for the head unit and the left prosthetic arm.

beta is plausible, gamma is pretty much a new body with no reuse except the half of the head from the normal/beta unit-02.

God I love this new style review. Feels much more interactive. The included unbox and quick run down of the contents also help round out the review. I watch uploads randomly, and go back over previous ones, so yeah.

strange how there hasnt been a DX announced for this or the next one. i figured each DX ver. would have gear for the previous one, like the canon for unit 1 coming with unit 0, and hypothetically, the big shield coming with the dx unit 2 for unit 0

Just FYI: while most of the clear decals on these kits are garbage, the ones for the pentagons on the shoulders are actually perfect.

I say that the best way to display this RG would be to build a fully detailed super structure of the Arleigh Burke Class at the scale of 1/144 and have EVA Unit 02 standing atop the now completely destroyed top that was once the Main Mast. While holding that large canvas around itself as if it were a torn cloak. Just that scene alone was just amazing

I find a specific part of the leg joint that allows the leg to raise sideways is particularly weak (D12 /13 in particular), they got stress marks after just bending the joint a few times Next Eva RG is the Unit 8, again, same kit except the head and a new sniper rifle

Thomas Tsui Depends on version, because Eva 08b uses different gauntlets, and ICC is an entirely new model.

@@user-xb1wh5mt4l nah, its the 08a, exact same body, there are official pics One thing about the ICC, as I remember in the lore Evas could just regrow lost limbs, so why the need for mechanical arms? Or maybe I just remembered wrongly

I was looking for other reviews on this kit and I read this same issue. Did Bandai make a different type of plastic for the inner frame in Unit 2?

@@okeneko5768 pretty sure all of them use the same plastic, it's just that I've only built 02 Might just be that tiny mold defect on mine where the joint is just that little bit too tight, but it's not the first time Bandai has designed an amazing gimmick, but fails due to plastic not strong enough

I don’t recall if unit 02’s head splits like that in the rebuilds unfortunately, to reveal the eyes. I think it was only in the original series that her mask would like ‘split’ and reveal the eyes underneath ://// was an amazing look, miss that version of unit 02.

Small tip for the little dots on the hand parts: Get a Gundam Paint marker, in this case, red, for Unit 01, gold, and focus really hard and just apply some paint to the little dots. It takes a short amount of time, and be sure you have something to wipe off any excess

the reason for the eye option parts are because the green dots were too small to do as separate parts. so for the green parts you can paint the white and red around the eyes. and for the parts that are white and red you can paint the green dots in the center of the eyes.

There actualy is aftermarket waterslides. I ordered some for 01 waiting for it to come in mail. I realy wanna do color accurite entry plug wich is usable as entry plug

As for Evangelion, RG seems to have been released really nicely~. I couldn't find only Unit 2. I want to meet Evangelion Unit 2 soon.

If the DX comes with the Unit-00 shield, I'd get it, but if it comes with the wings for Unit-02 I'd also get it

Are you gonna be building the RG Zephyranthes any time soon? It seems to have been on your shelf forever! I'm looking forward to seeing if you have any issues with the core fighter connection. Just gonna copy and paste this from an HLtv episode: While we're on the subject of Eva kits, here's a set of replacement forearms for your RG Eva-01 if you, like me, dislike the RG's weird rotating... sleeve... thing. It seems to lock the forearm "blades" in place, and possibly limits articulation of the wrist as well (I dunno, I haven't bought the RG Eva-01), but it looks SO. MUCH. It doesn't look bad just I hate how the green segment along the forearm isn't as long and it looks a bit squished so you can't really use the decals on it. As flawed as the original one is I prefer being able to use those marking decals and the like the look of that green segment a whole lot more there.

Nope! Not the RG kits anyway. The HGLM Evangelion kits you may have to glue a couple parts but basically you shouldn’t need glue for any Bandai Eva kits, and any Gunpla made after 1990~ish?

Not gonna get any RG eva kits ATM, every eva's so far are pretty boring in terms of the weapon option....and there's no EVA 02 DX set! The upcoming EVA Frame has more weapon option than RG! C'mon, at least give us the S type equipment.... And the decal, you can just buy some 3rd party WS decals instead of waiting Bandai to release them.
