Rhaenys is the best character on the show. She is wiser and stronger than anyone else on the show.

Appreciate her more and more with each episode. Her wisdom! But she knows… men would rather put the realm to the torch than put a woman on the throne. Nothing has changed

And part of what made him a prudent ruler was his acknowledgement that the realm would not accept a Queen Regnant, no matter how justified her claim.

This all would've been avoided had viserys sent aegon away and stepped down when he became too ill to rule allowing power to transfer to rhaenyra while he was still alive

@@jaymartinez2308yes he was stupid for that decision and it ultimately led to the dance happening if he told his council I want rhaenys as heir and not have a vote all of it could’ve been prevented maybe there would be discord but she would’ve had jaehareys, viserys and daemon, rhaenyera and her husband at her back helping her plus she is a dragon rider herself with meleys a fierce dragon. I believe he just didn’t want to deal with it anymore since his health was declining and wanted the succession over and done with not thinking about the consequences of his and the council’s decision.
