a sad sight. Covid finished off most of the UK towns, with councils doing everything they can to accelerate this demise. The public being driven to online shopping seals this fate.
There's some lovely folk that live in Rhyl, and it's a great shame how this emptiness has come about. I live in Colwyn Bay, and many, many shops are empty, too!
I was born in Rhyl in 1941 so i don't know much about the place then. Mum's family were from Kent and I, being a War Baby (Ba - - ard) was taken to live in Kent with Nan & Granddad. I know now that was the best thing that ever happened to me. I live in Kent still. Dad's family were from Chester and I think we went a few times to Rhyl from there, but I just can't remember. I did go to visit Chester some 20/25 years ago and, with the address from my Birth Certificate, went to Rhyl to see the house I was born in. Big Mistake!! I've never been back since and, after watching this video, I have no intention of doing so I'm sorry to say. What a Dump it looks now. There also seemed to be an abundance of "Surplus Flesh" bumbling around in the streets. I'm stopping there. I'm sorry to the present residents of Rhyl, I mean no slur on you. It's just my opinion.
Rhyl has gone way down hill they need to bring more shops down here and something for the childre/teenager as well. Rhyl has gone down hill sience they took the fair ground away the only decent part I like about rhyl is the nightclubs on the weekend. Rhyl needs to get more decent shops and stop putting charity shops and nails shops in rhyl as well.
Makes the bottom end of High Street a no go area. Why waste time walking down there, unless you've parked in car park behind the apollo. games exchange and other shop&old £land should have something done to them there an eyesore now. What vision&New devlopment is council bringing,as most shop closures have been empty for at Least 5 years.Oh yep no money to develop anything.Drag Rhyl down further.
