I watch her videos for many years. There are a lot of new RU-vidrs, I still like her the best. Whenever I want to make shikye, or other Korean food and drinks, then I watch her videos again. I use her recipes and never fail myself.

@@soydoratheadorer7348 ahhh sugar cane drinks taste exactly like sugar cane without the hassle of biting into the stems. It doesn't smell like prune juice nor molasses. So good though, I'd recommend you give it a try!
@@soydoratheadorer7348 There's no need for you to be rude lol. Sugarcane juice is actually pretty good. It's sweet and refreshing when cold. You should give it a try! I recommend fresh-squeezed sugarcane because fresh is always best :D
@@soydoratheadorer7348 lol I'm not sure you drink the real sugarcane drinks or a prune juice and mistaken it as sugarcane juice lol, Well made Sugarcane drink just smell like a sugar water and when its cold its almost didn't have any fragrance at all, its sweet and refreshing
Most of the commercially sold versions (like at restaurants) tastes nothing like the real stuff. Not saying it's bad but it tends to be 10 times sweeter but also somehow watered down (?) compared to the real drink. Would probably be a whole different experience!
I've been looking for so many sikhye recipes after drinking it at a korean restaurant! I loved how sweet yet rich it tasted, and the little chunks we're fun to eat. Thank you so much maangchi, I'll make it as soon as possible.
Sikhye was sometimes made by my grandmother when I was young. Now that I just buy it, but I think I can make her too. Her recipe is amazing! Thank you so much, maangchi❤️
the sikhye that is sold at the asian store is too sweet for me and i was never really fond of it, now im gonna give it another try! thank you maangchi for the recipe as always!
I've been watching for years, and always surprised nobody could translate to Spanish. I hope you don't mind I start on Spanish subtitles some time soon! :)
Hi Maangchi! Thank you for doing what you do! Been watching since I was a little girl, and it makes me so happy to know that you have continued to be successful and haven't compromised on the quality of your content. You're awesome!
I havent prepared even one dish of yours. But guess what? I love you so much. Such an awesome way of interacting with people. I love to watch your videos like crazy. Keep rocking.
Perfect timing! I was just looking through your channel for some refreshing summer recipes only an hour ago! Thank you so much I love you maangchi! 💞💞💞
I just want to say thank you for making these videos. You are one of the most genuinely delightful people I have ever come across. Together with your knowledge I am happily addicted to your videos. But I’ve found it’s more than that. These days your videos help me get through the days. They make the time go faster at dialysis. They make procedures more tolerable as a distraction and during times like now while I’m on bed rest they keep me company. Thank you for that. PS I must admit I have found myself waving back when you end the episode!
This is the first time watching full process of making sikhye even I'm a Korean😅 Sikhye itself is the art and science!!!! Thank you for sharing this valuable recipe with all over the world😍!!
Korean loooove this drink! We HAVE TO drink this at sauna. Very good after sweating. It is sweet but not too much. There is canned sikhye, but homemade is the best.
I made Dongchimi the other day... now I'm going to make this!!! My mom loves this for summer! Just looking at your video reminds me of my childhood summers in Seoul!
Oh my gosh, this looks absolutely divine! I love how it takes time to make, but it's also so simple! I knew there were lots of things I could do with rice, but I never thought I could make a punch out of it. Thank you so much another wonderful recipe Maangchi-sensei!
Maangchi, I've been a fan of yours for at least 10 years! When i was leaning to cook for myself I used your videos to help me make simple delicious foods that were harder for me to find in restaurants in my area. Over the last few years more and more Korean food is available and I can finally get ingredients for some of your more challenging dishes. Today I made sikhye! It was not as hard as i thought it would be! Thank you for sharing your time, recipes, and heart with us through the years. You're amazing! ❤️
This video has French (Canada) and Spanish (Spain) captions now thanks to our volunteer translators ASMR Darrach (RU-vid)and Teuira Terepai (RU-vid)! ru-vid.com_video?ref=wt&auto=yes&bl=watch&v=VVicZFswZ3M&nv=1 Thank you so much!
Hello maangchi, I have a question not related to sikhye 😅 I have a large package of store bought gochujang in the fridge. I'll go on vacation for a while and will shut down the refrigerator. How can I store my gochujang? Can I freeze it? Thank you
I miss 식혜 so much. Every time I go to Korea I will have at least 2 cups in 한증막. Love it so much and now I can make it myself!! Omg so excited right now! Thank you, Maangchi, again!
This is very similar to Mexican beverage called "horchata" and it is like a rice milk with cinnamon. Very delicious as well but this looks yummy!! Love your videos Maangchi 💚
I've loved this drink ever since watching my first K-drama (The King's Daughter). But today I made it by myself for the Korean club at our homeschool co-op. Thank you, Maangchi!
It’s crazy to think that I have been watching maangchi since 2009 and it’s actually been over 15 years ❤️❤️❤️ and every time I watch her videos it just brings me a good vibe, hope maangchi is doing well ❤😊
French caption was submitted by one of our volunteer translator viewers! Thank you so much! ru-vid.com_video?ref=wt&auto=yes&bl=watch&v=VVicZFswZ3M&nv=1
I'm so happy to have stumbled upon this video! I've been searching for years for the name/recipe for the delicious rice drink I used to have at the small Korean restaurant in the town I used to live in. I've been watching your videos and following your recipes for a few years, but I never knew what search terms to describe this with! I can't wait to try making sikhye. Thanks for brining Korean food to us, Maangchi! 🥰
At my local korean fried chicken shop beer is no 2 choice for drinks, no 1 most popular is carbonated sikhye with vanilla butter cream something like that..at first i was like hmm why they don't order beer for chimaek (korean term for chicken and beer), out of curiousity i tried a glass of the carbonated sikhye..omg trust me much better than beer and it is indescribable the taste is so freaking good and it is non alcoholic so whole family can enjoy the goodness❤️
Thank you so much for letting me know about Korean food.Sikhye is a traditional Korean food and is often eaten during the holidays. Soon, Korean Thanksgiving Day is coming up. Sikhye video is the best.
Thank you for posting the video on your way to work in the morning. I am watching and learning a lot. I love the video of my internet mother Sikhye which is perfect for the hot weather in Korea like today.❤❤❤
I’ve actually been trying to figure out how to make this, I tried the drink at my first Korean restaurant they gave some to me after my meal, and I fell in love with it 😍
I’ve always wondered what this drink was called at the end of the meal at any Korean bbq place, my family and I love it!! It’s so refreshing and just sweet enough it’s fantastic
I had watched my mom make 식혜. But I have no idea how to make it. Your rice punch reminds me of my childhood. And even much easier than I expected. I will try it someday. Thank for a good tip!!
Thx for another amazing video, me and my family always make one of your dishes from your cook book on the weekends lol. that looks so so yummy! Love you! 💝💗💕💕
Hai m ur fan ur way of talk is special and the open of ur video with knife and fish amazing am watching from several months it's nice mam thank you for ur teaching ur smile is great
went to south korea last year and drank this at jimjilbang..instantly fell in love.. and i went to myeongdong street to buy some more... XD now i can buy canned sikhye from korean grocery store in singapore and malaysia..
i used to attend weekly Korean classes back in 5th grade, and my classmates were both kindergarteners. when my teacher brought some sikhye for the class, guess what one of my classmates said? she said, and i am quoting her directly: "this tastes like chicken soup."
I used to get to drink this from the very home-style Korean restaurant we like going to. (Their banchan are always the best!! And they make different types; I’ve eaten 20-30 distinct dishes by going there over the years! Wow! I feel most Reataurants always make the same banchan.) But, maybe since it’s a bit of a long process, they stopped making it. 😢 Thank you for explaining, now I can! I just wish I had a bigger rice cooker! ☺️ The mysterious thing about this menu-when I think about it, I think it does not look very delicious until you’ve tried it, and then, after you eat it, it’s so good that it becomes beautiful in your eyes and you get excited by seeing it! 😂😊 “Ahhh, beautiful! Oh, look, it looks so good!!!!”
I really love watching your channel..and the way of your talking was pretty..and I m in love with korean shows and dramas..can you please give me a rply..😍
