@@coolbreeze2773 so your team doesn't steal the signs ? Do they try to steal the signs ? Are your coaches smart enough to pick up on someone banging on a garbage can during the game ? C'mon man
What are you blabbering about these guys video taped bullpens and catchers with a camcorder not to mention alerted players by banging on drums and whistles. No my team doesn’t steal signs in that way to answer your pathetic questions...they got caught ratted out from the inside..get your damn act together
Cool Breeze I totally agree with you I think it is ridiculous that there are some people trying to say everybody’s deal signed yes everybody steals signs but they are the only ones that use technology it is completely legal to steal signs if you are stupid enough to let them be stolen by people on base but to use technology only you have access to is horrible
If there was conflicting evidence, that means at least SOME of the players lied. Jesus, some of them are STILL lying about it. If they lied, their immunity agreement should be VOIDED.
That’s the stupidest comment on here, and those who liked it are lost. All it means is that someone is lying, if Carlos were lying wouldn’t he be suspended ASAP? That would be a breach of contract. The players were given immunity only with truthful testimony. A suspension is tied with lying.
@@joeman425 Because the commish of the league says to you we know you have committed an offence serious enough to get you banned for life. If you rat on someone else you will get to go on as normal. What would you do dumbazzzzzzzzzzzz
that is a FACT..... our country, and every other country in the world plays for some kind of SYMBOL.... that entire season and winning the whole thing is signified by that very symbol and has separated the winning team from every other team.... that is what they play for.... period....
Same reason Dominican players start taking steroids as kids. The benefits put you from poverty to a millionaire in America. If you lived in comp, are filth and poverty but were decent at baseball at 15 wouldn't you take steroids to make it to the pros?
@@bobspizza7444 that's the stupid comment ever those kids are sing because of their talent ,you sound butthurt as hell, or only Dominicans players used steroids
Rich. Great points. These Garbage Can Astros Cheaters got away with destroying the integrity of the game. They intentionally destroyed real competition of baseball. Rob Man-Sucker couldnt do anything because he is more worried about the players union in CBA, than the disgrace brought about by this scandal. AJ Hinch couldn't deny buzzers flatly. The non apology made things worse and just goes to show that punishment and justice for this scandal is non existent. The rest of the players in the league are disgusted by the abhorrent arrogance of these cheaters. And to top it all off Rob Manfred had the gaul to call the World series trophy and the rings "pieces of metal". The arrogance of Major League Baseball is astounding! They don't even understand the nature of the game that they are stewards of. SHAMEFUL...
Oh come on you hear all these players complaining about the fact that there was no discipline but yet their own Union their own Union said that the players wouldn't cooperate unless they got granted full immunity and then on top of that even if Rob Manfred tried to discipline the players he wouldn't been able to do so under the Clause of the CBA that he did not threaten suspension and all the suspensions would have been in arbitration and they all would have been thrown out of arbitration hearings and MLB and the Players Association would have been in litigation for years Tony Clark who's the head of the mlbpa even stated that their job is to protect ALL players even the Astros players I'm not excusing Rob Manfred from this there are some things that he said that I disagreed with but he was just dealing with the hand he was dealt and that the only way that the players would cooperate is if they were granted full immunity that's what the union stated so these players need to go back to their own Union the ones that are speaking out need to go back to their own Union and say what the f*** did you do? Should the title be taken away yes but you can't blame Rob Manfred for the lack of discipline for the players that's all on the Union
Ivory Alexander The union is being used as an excuse! NOTHING is stopping Manfred from vacating the title & that is punishing the players! Only acceptable response & must happen now! And you're insane if you think any astro will be in the all star game!
Jack man If the US Justice Department ordered an investigation (especially under the RICO statutes) , a grand jury would be convened and the players would not be granted immunity from testifying.
I think a grand jury would say , "so , the opposing players didn't notice a banging garbage can ? The opposing coaches didn't notice banging garbage cans ? The pitcher and catcher didn't notice a banging noise appearing to be following their signs"? Is there any evidence of this ?
Rich, you need to have a sit down with Manfred. Push him. The ESPN softball questions aren't going to cut it. It's just making this problem fester longer. Houston fans need to boycott their team for home games.
I voiced my displeasure with the Houston Astros cheating scandal and Rob Manfred's conduct during his time as commissioner. I got blocked on Facebook by MLB. Good job way to lose a fan for life!
Vlad Saint they’re gonna lose a lot more when the players take it into their own hands and start beaning the Astros this year and then they start suspending players for retaliating it is going to get really messy real fast.
It's simple. Rescind in the 2017 championship from Houston. Make every player return their cheating championship ring on opening day in from of a national audience! After that, the MLB players can police it from there....
Altuve should have his MVP stripped. Like Bellinger said, he “stole” the award from Judge, who had an amazing season and broke long-standing record (rookie HRs). I know Judge doesn’t want to win an award like that, but OTOH he came right out and said Altuve didn’t “earn” it. What a sad saga this has turned out to be.
you must not know who supplies the rings....MLB cant make them return the rings. the owner of the team pays for the rings, not the MLB. the rings don't hold the value a Championship ring should hold now....but you can't take them away.
I’m a 45 year Dodgers fan. But once the Nats made to the WS, I was really watching the Astros. I’m 5’6” tall, so really enjoyed watching Altuve play. I’ll never watch him again, much less cheer for him. He really let the smaller athletes down. He is a very good player, why cheat? I just don’t get it. He’s a liar, also!
Speaking Truths: Yes. They have no moral compass. So many kids who desire, dream, most of all WORK HARD TO GET BETTER, see this crap and say something crazy like..... “Dad? I’m gonna be a soccer player!”
The Houston Asterisks kept cheating from 2017-2019. They didnt get caught in 17 so why would they stop... also it was Cora and Beltran who conspired this scheme.
Pretty hard to deny that Altuve wasn't in on it as well, being one of their best hitters 🙄 along with obviously his walk off, jersey thing, and changing shirt thing.
@@speakingtruths4215 of course they all knew but it doesn't mean they all participated especially the pitchers because the Astros dugout is way in center field.
2017 California was engulfed in Fires all over the State, Texas flooded by Hurricane damage. That 2017 World Series brought Americans together for 7 game's, people came together to support 2 States that were devastated by Natures Calamities. Now 3 year's later we find out that whole idea of fair play just went out the window, and something that was so wonderful and exciting, turned into a Complete mockery, that was illustrated on the American People and People World wide that watched that World Series.
There's no way out. The whole sport is a sham. Lifelong baseball lover, never watching until baseball can consistently demonstrate it has a culture of integrity for 5 years. Since it never has, probably walking away from the sport for good.
If a college team win a championship but is then found to have committed serious recruiting violations or whatever, its title is stripped. If someone flunks a doping test in the Olympics, they lose their medal. And so on. Why should this be any different? Strip the Astros of their World Series title.
In 2018 I couldn’t believe Cleveland got swept..I was pist off and totally stunned. We by far had overall the best pitching staff in all of baseball that year. SWEPT period broomsticks boggled my mind..BUT NOW I KNOW WHY ✍️!
Bregman bragged about for sure gonna win the world series that year (2017)on his you tube channel .Then after looseing in 18 he bragged again that they were gonna win in 19.On his you tube channel. He was certain.its on you tube.on his channel.
people say you can't take the title away cuz it would set a bad precedence? Precedence has to be set at some time. It has to be set somewhere and if this isn't a good enough reason? Then what is? Manfred ain't long for his position.
Yeah we used it in 2017 but we stopped the first game of the post season 🤨 and we also stopped cheating the next two seasons after winning a world series 🤨 They should be banned for making a mockery out of baseball.
No one has even checked the rules book or gotten the details of it in Houston. The camera was just like every other in all the MLB stadiums, no unfair advantage there. The person or persons monitoring were not Astro players or part of the team and whatever banging was done loud enough where other teams could hear it all too. Just like an expensive lawyer knows the laws better than most and can find holes in wording, the baseball rules on hose activities may be worded that leaves a loophole so technically the players themselves were protected. Sorta if some fans were in the front row screamimg out pitches. Im curious to know why if the sign stealing was so rampant as other players claim, then why didnt players or umpires say anything? If the hitter could hear the bangs then so could the catcher, umpire, pitcher, and 3rd baseman, but not a word was said or a finger pointed....
They’re not going to put it all out there because this is probably way worse than we known. MLB just wants this to go away and they totally botched it. It’s going to be way worse letting this drag out and have players slowly leak what really went down.
The morals of the game are already upside down as they are. If the players are so pissed, why don't they get the union to demand that their own members are punished as they demand many other game-related issues. Why don't they stand up for the game and what's right?
players involved should be banned for life and the teams themselves banned for 1+ years. This is HUGE in the eyes of millions of kids everywhere. It should be huge to the commission and if the players union goes against it they should be ashamed of themselves.
Rich I have been critical at time of you sir but I 100 percent agree with you. MLB did a poor job and has done a poor job with the report. When Carlos Correa is contradicting what’s the Commissioner is saying, that’s a problem. That means someone is lying, and it’s really fishy when the commissioner said he granted immunity only with truthful testimony, so the question is, if Carlos Correa is contradicting what you the commissioner are saying, why haven’t you suspended him? You said the players were granted immunity with truthful testimony and if they lied, they would be suspended.
If this was so important to Mike Fiers why did he fail to act in a timely manner with the MLB Union in order to file a grievance! This is a time sensitive issue which should have been addressed according to MLB Union protocal! He had the available resources but he failed to act accordingly! The MLB Union has measures in place to protect it's players from these she·nan·i·gans. MLB players shall not hide behind the media or utilize the media to attack teams and former teammates! What you are about to witness is the Mike Fiers Show so buckle up becuase its going to be a wild ride in 2020!
I take him saying the trash can was more credible as him saying players told him of the methods they had moved onto (buzzers) but he didn't want to go there. Why would any Astros player say they used the trash can and cheated during the playoffs if they didn't? I don't think that's the conflicting information he's talking about, it makes no sense. This thing is a huge cover up.
There are so many ways they could have cheated, once the jackoff in the dugout or wherever relayed the type of pitch, they could have easily used hand signals, not just hitting a garbage can.. and why is this only about 2017,, they probably kept cheating until they got caught,, this is all bullshit, suspend the players, take away their pay for as long as they cheated, suspend that miserable team ATLEAST another year without pay..
They can't "put it out there" because how do you ever believe a liar? They can't say, "I'm telling you the truth now, this is what happened". You can never be sure that a liar is now telling the truth. As a Dodger fan, I don't want your dirty trophy and it doesn't matter to me if you keep it or vacate it, it's still dirty. Baseball will police the game. I'm sure the Astros wish they were back in the NL this year and the pitcher batting. :)
Conflicting evidence is a nice way of saying “they were lying and the evidence proved it but they have immunity so what do you want me to do!” 😂😂. My G Manfred out here taking it in the face for a bunch a assholes!
Rotating 40 game suspensions for the main guys behind it. Insane that a player driven cheating scandal has resulted in a World Series title and no punishment.
Basically the MLB commissioner has been watching the NFL commissioner screw up case after case and laughed. You think Goodell screws it up. Hold my beer I'm gonna blow him away in stupidity
Indians called it too. Especially Trevor Bauer. And everyone laughed at him. Who’s laughing now. I hope the Astros get their asses handed to them this year. I’d I hate to be the first batter on opening day 😂
If you can’t punish the players then you punish the organization. Harshly. And you let players know that any future crap like this will result in banishment from game forever
Shifting blame to the players union misses the point. Using this as an excuse for union busting is stupid. Player members of the union ARE speaking out that the commissioner dropped the ball when it comes to protecting the integrity of THEIR profession. l agree with Rich, "get it all out". But include the rest of the players AND owners in baseball to work it out.
Rob Manfred is covering up something significant & huge that's going to effect baseball dramatically. It's no secret the game has been in decline. He's covering up for the Astros and he's covering up for the Red Sox. So my question is who else has he been covering up for since he's been commissioner?? Has he been covering up for other teams/players since he took this position!!
Rich Eisen got it. Of course the MLBPA wants to get in position for the CBA negotiations. Because they know what a weak commissioner Rob Manfred is compared to Bud Selig.
Altuve and Correa are such great players but now their careers are stained with "they never earned it" and thanks to Manfred's non-punishment they will never be voted into MLB Hall of Fame. I'm angry but it's also sad.
I'm still trying to swallow the fact that stealing signs is such a big deal . So things that we did in high school were illegal ? And every other league after that ? So the pitchers and catchers don't really have to change their signs during the game , because if the opposing team steals their original signs , that would be cheating and the team coach could be fined and fired ? So if you don't like the opposing coach , you could secretly let him see your signs , then report him to the ump ? And why does the catcher try to hide his signs , if its illegal to steal them ? It seems to me that the Astros are getting hit with Patriots derangement syndrome . "They keep winning , they must be cheating" ! "Don't you hear that garbage can banging" ? Geez , wouldn't the Umpire hear that ? Wouldn't the opposing coach hear that ? What's up ?
nowadays if you can't cheat you can't win. and that behavior was just given the greenlight while simultaneously demeaning the value of the sport and its highest prize
Ok, players can't be punished 'individually'? well, Stros say they cheated as a team? Then punish them as a 'team'. Take away the trophy, banners and title and we'll call it good. Cheating, is cheating.
Even if the Astros cheated in every other game and NOT the world series itself, they still cheated and Dodger fans and every baseball fan has a right to boo the Astros and the Trophy and Rings should still be given back. They cheated period.
The ONLY acceptable action now is.... Vacate the title asap! Can and MUST happen! Releasing info etc won't help! They cheated at least 86 games to get there to begin with ffs ugh! Oh & you're delusional if you think any of them will be in the all star game lol.
Thats pointless... it doesnt matter which specific players cheated on what specific plays. The entire organization was in on it. We dont need granual evidence to know they all shouod be punished.
Manfred has been incompetent since the day he took the job, even aside from this entire Astros debacle. Absolute no-brainer to reinstate Pete Rose; it’s been 30 years - totally botches it. The shift makes baseball look bush league and can be abolished TODAY with zero effort - 2 infielders on each side of second base - DONE! The sport is being ruined
It doesnt matter if it went on in the World Series. If they didnt cheat in the regular season they may not have beaten out the Angels for the division and they may not have made the playoffs. They almost certainly wouldnt have had home field.
This is purely anecdotal, but I know at least a dozen fellow lifelong baseball fans who are either not purchasing a ticket, not renewing their MLB subscription, or watching MLB games on network television. Their loyalty was thoroughly tested with PEDs, insulted with the juiced, lower seamed ball, and stomped on by... not the cheating per se'... but the dominance of the player union's Stockholm Syndrome hold on MLB. MLB is a shotgun marriage between free market and outcome based endeavors. That's an unlikely match and it has left MLB desperate to gain an audience in the under 50 demographic which ultimately cheapened the game on and off the field. The fact is, there are many of us who just don't care anymore and that is worse news for baseball than the Astros, Manfred, PEDs, player strike... you name it.
