The main weakness of the 49ers’ offense is the right side of the offensive line. They don’t pass protect very well, allowing too much pressure on Purdy’s pass plays. Also, the defense will have to play up to their ability, instead of playing at half-effort, as in the first half of the Detroit game.

Pass rush doesn't rattle Purdy. He got sacked 4 times against the Buccs and put up a perfect passer rating. You gotta beat that passing game in coverage. With the 49ers talent, that means linebackers and safeties in addition to CBs, which is why the Ravens did so well with Roquan Smith, Patrick Queen, and Kyle Hamilton.

Interesting, but Purdy goes through his reads extremely quickly already and was the best QB this season when pressured. Just like the season, what will win this game for SF is the balance of run and pass and the D holding up their end.

Because the media is putting Kelce and the Swifties front and center in their script, you can bet they are counting on Kelce to have a huge game in SB LVIII, so that Kelce can propose to Taylor and they can ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after. My concern with Purdy is can he really thread the needle on outside throws. When I watch SF, it looks like the overwhelming majority of their pass patterns/completions are over the middle stuff. It makes me think of their 2019 offense in that regard. Like, if that's taken away, can he make those truly special throws enough to win. That's my concern with him. I think in the first two series, Brock should accept a sack if the o-line can't keep the Chiefs off him. That might be better than trying to play fast and make mistakes if you don't have to. Let's play our own What If game. Let's say both Mahomes (7 Y/A) and Purdy (9.6 Y/A and Pacheco (4.6 yards per carry) and CMC (5.4 yards per carry) play to their season. Mahomes is 24 out of 35 for 245 yards with Pacheo rushing for 92 yards on 20 carries. Purdy is also 24 out of 35, but for 336 yards with CMC rushing for 108 yards on 20 carries. That should give the Niners one more touchdown and the game. Most people don't realize that the Niners still had over 400 yard in the Ravens' game. There are many other factors that affect the outcome - field goal misses, turnovers, etc. Niners should win unless the commit more turnovers. Will be a good game. If Purdy plays to his season average, can people finally accept that he is a good QB? As for Purdy's scrambling ability, did any of you experts realize that down 17 at half in the NFC championship with nothing to lose that Shanahan finally gave Purdy the green light? For that I give you the 49ers game plan on offense: Use McCaffrey early and often to establish the run in order to open up the passing game and to keep the Chiefs offense off the field as long as possible. Also substitute Mitchell and Mason. Interestingly, when the Cowboys found a way to contain CMC, Mason churned out his best performance of the season. Mason averages 5.2 yards per carry and scored a TD every 13.3 carries and hasn't fumbled the ball a single time this season. By comparison, CMC averages 5.4 YPC and scores TD every 19.4 carries. So using Mason may not be a bad option. However, If Chiefs load the box to prevent CMC from running wild, like Dallas did, the Niners need to implement play-action pass for Brock who'll torch them in the passing game. Niners need to take what the Chiefs give them. When Dallas found a way to contain CMC by loading the box--Brock torched them with 4 passing TDs. Niners need to utilize the play-action pass more frequently against the Chiefs, which they failed to do against the Lions. Brock is virtually unstoppable using play-action with a near 80% completion rate and 10.7 yards per attempt and close to 140 RTG during the regular season. 49ers keys to victory on defense: Put a linebacker on Kelce near the line of scrimmage to bump-and-run him hard on every play, to keep him off-balance, then double team Kelce to neutralize him. Jerry Rice said to double him 100 percent. If refs don't call holding penalties against Chiefs O-line, 49ers coaches better call them out, for this could mean the difference between winning and losing, as it will neutralize the 49ers pass rush which is vital especially against Mahomes whom the Niners will have to put pressure on in the pocket and will help prevent Pacheco from running uncontested in the backfield. Of course, 49ers defensive linemen need to play to their full potential to make this work. Linebacker Warner must continue reading the offense and tackling opposing RBs from behind scrimmage. Niners cornerback Lenoir needs to be a shut-down corner like he was against Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Lions and do the same with Rashee Rice. While safety Gipson is doing well in the postseason, the safeties need to up their game and fly around the field like Hufanga did before he got injured to match the competitiveness of the Chiefs safeties, Reid, Conner, Edwards and Bush who are putting up sacks, TFLs, PDs and INTs, becoming the unsung heroes of the Chiefs' defense in the postseason.

My answer is Turnovers by Purdy. If he doesn't throw picks, Niners win. Purdy is possibly the fastest processer in the league right now. The dude has a 132 rating under pressure...so it ain't pressure. If Purdy doesn't throw multiple picks in a game, the 49ers win the game. The only time they lost with 1 interception or less is the Browns game where the kicker missed 2 field goals including the game winner and they lost by 2. 8 of his 11 interceptions during the regular season came in 3 games, 3 losses and he put his team in position to win one of those at the end...missed field goal again. The Bangels and the Ravens games are the exceptions to the amazing first year by this kid, not the standard. The Cheifs defense will need to get to Purdy, not just pressure him. I don't think a reliance on CMC more than any other game that they have played is the key. The key is outside the numbers, if you can spread that defense and keep dropping 7-15 yard passes on the sidelines, then it will be seam throws and the CMC Show the rest of the way. If SF defense plays like they did in the second half of the Championship game. It could be a long day for the Chiefs. Mahomes will have to trust his other receivers and they will need to make plays, because if this turns into a shootout, he just doesn't have the weapons that Purdy does.
