Dr. Rhonda Patrick talks about intermittent fasting on her page and some podcasts with Joe Rogan. Once you ingest anything but water after waking, your liver and endocrine system starts a whole clock cycle within the body, it is no longer in a fasting state. This has definitely helped me this past year with certain inflammatory markers, I try to keep my eating within a 6-8 hour window. (:

Sean P The whole milk would contribute more to testosterone production (cholesterol, fats, vitamin d, and b vitamins), as well as brain and nervous system function/recovery than it would with bone density. If you drink a lot of whole milk you notice immediately your brain function increases with the cholesterol and your voice deepens, you also get strong as a motherfucker all signs of increased test and nervous system functioning/recovery. I think if your diet it's about real food (al least 90%) drink 2 liters of milk a day does not seems to be a problem, considereing his way to metabolize the food in to energy (it has to be different to a normal person because Rich trains a lot compared to others), so that 2 liters more or less it may have a different impact in his life (for now). You just have to try what makes you feel comfortable and get you results (real food better than processed). What's terrible is the amount of sedentary people, that will develop osteoarthritis and arthritis before drinking milk for sure!

IF period of 8 hours...so if one eats breakfast at like 8 AM and dinner at 5:30 that is 9.5 hours...and that is a "normal" eating habit...so really only truncating that period by 1.5 hours...Rich sorta indicates his eating habits were crazy and eating at like all times and hours and skipping meals...so basically Rich is just resetting his eating and ensuring consistency...but not sure you can call it "fasting" if you are only limiting yourself an hour and a half over a "traditional" eating schedule. what he is seeing is prob mostly a result of consistency. plus someone needs to tell rich that only about 30% of the calcium he is drinking gets absorbed...then on top of that high protein intake sucks up calcium through urinary excretion and stops its use in the body. caffeine and sodium also limit absorption...and with his diet of protein shakes and whatnot he is prob barely breaking even.

@@mikelroa8719 wouldn't the same effect happen if you eat breakfast and trained after?
@mikelroa8719
@mikelroa8719 4 года назад
@@cookiedestroyer402 i dont think so. When you wake up your cortisol is high. That should give you enough energy to work out. I could never work out after eating. Train, eat, sleep. Repeat. This is how i do it. If a guy with such experience like Rich ended up doing it this way, it is worth to give it a try. It is not a 40 day fast. Your stomach may be empty, but your bowels, where energy is absorbed, are full.
@cookiedestroyer402
@cookiedestroyer402 4 года назад
@@mikelroa8719 if before breakfast is the only time you are able to train that would probably just hurt your development. also why would you want to eat only when cortisol is low? Also it doesn't matter how long he's been training fitness is extremely broad.

Interesting but high bone density with people who are not active leads to fracture because the bones are heavy. His bone density is probably mainly due to lifting. A shame that a champion is perpetuating such a false statement about cow’s milk. Many studies with Scandinavian countries have proves this. Anyway thanks for sharing.

Not trying to be a “hater”, but I find it hard to believe your test levels increased that much simply from IF. Having 600+ test levels at your age is amazing yet alone 800 plus. Do you truly believe it’s just from IF??

Of course it can. The largest reason for decreases in testosterone is food intake and blood sugar. If he's eating the correct foods, and fasting long enough, his testosterone could easily be that high.

Don’t sleep on IF. It’s very possible. Especially in an individual with good genetics, diet and workout intensity and type.
