As a Canadian myself, it’s always a special thing to see one of our own rise to the top of their profession in a predominantly American dominated industry. I’m 60 so I remember way back (😨😜) watching him live on the Dean Martin roasts and on Carson. It’s heartening to see how well he has aged and that he still has his “chops” - and then some!! God bless you Mr. Little 🙏. Live long and prosper 🖖 Thank you for sharing this Ms Stone! You are a lucky woman to have been able to share time with such a genuine talent.
Hi, I had a similar experience growing up watching Rich Little on tv. Yes, I agree, he has aged well and is still an entertaining performer. What a terrific experience and opportunity it was to meet and interview Rich Little and arrange with his Manager. Thank you for watching and sharing your comments.
Rich Little, one of my first of favorite comedians. He and many others inspired me to get into comedy for a time. Always tried to mimic his impressions. Wonderful performer.
Stephe, you're welcome. He is such an amazing impressionist. I've been knowing about him for over 30 years, since I was a preteen. Rich Little is great!
RICH LITTLE IS BELOVED BY MANY BECAUSE OF HIS TALENT AND THAT MANY RECALL WATCHING HIM ON THE CARSON SHOW AND DEAN MARTIN ROASTS. BRINGING BACK SO MANY GOOD FUNNY MEMORIES! WHEN HE PASSES ON, A DVD OF HIS CAREER WILL NO DOUBT COME OUT.
Rich Little has been a favorite of mine since the 80s and once i had his answering machine tape and everyone who called left a msg laughing :D I'm glad he's fine and still around and still funny as heck. Love ya man. And thank you lady for sharing...
You're welcome. Thank you for watching, for posting the nice comments, and sharing the cool story about your answering machine with the Rich Little message.
Hi Dave from Ottawa, Canada. Yes, can see why you are proud. Have anyone else out there right now coming up in the comedy world? Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thank you for watching and commenting. May provide necessary, complex, and thought provoking captioning in the future. May also try to provide the best interviews ever!
How do you really feel? Thank you for watching and commenting. Will take the request under advisement. And if there are any 8 year olds out there watching the video, "Cool, thank you".
In response to this interview of such an extremely talented man who has entertained us for so many years, all I can say is, "Wow!". His acceptance to allow the interview to continue after the first few minutes only speaks to his generosity. His political views should be respected. As for the interviewer, she should be grateful...
Hmmm, how to respond...? 1. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and write a comment implying how you feel. 2. Yes, Rich Little is an extremely talented, generous entertainer. 3. Yes, as I posted a few days ago in Comments, I should have given Rich Little a chance to hear a comment and respond during the interview. 4. Yes, grateful to all interviewees and to be able to produce and post videos for others to watch, think about, and comment on in writing and maybe even in person to other people.
Rich gives a surprisingly candid interview here with observations that ring true. I was never a big fan of his schtick, but he's a pleasure to watch, especially when he's reminiscing about some of the legendary entertainers he knew.
Enjoyed the interview and our conversation. Rich Little is an icon. Don't worry about the negative comments. Most people don't have a sense of humor. They wouldn't even know how to interview a guy like Rich Little.
i loved Rich Little, and I went to Vegas on a very tight budget. The time mid 1970's and he was at the Rivera hotel. The cost to see him $15 , not much by todays standards, but a deal breaker back then. I just had a few bucks to gamble with but hit a $15 jackpot on a nickel bet, and a short time before his show started........LOL, I grabbed the pile of nickels, and was able to get a show ticket just before the doors closed. WOW, what a show, he did a lot of singing impressions, and explained that he did very little of the singing impressions on his TV performances, as he saved it as a special treat for the paying fans. Amazeing, that single 5 cent bet gave me so many memories these 45 years later.
Enjoyed this thank you :) Rich Little was a big favorite of mine since I was a kid, wow was that a long time ago! Loved hearing his stories about the old days.
Stephee Thank for this small interview. I grew up watching Mr Little & love his impressions. Especially when he did Jack Benny & Jimmy Stewart. However you can't just like one without liking them all.
Still my favorite show on the strip ... been back five times. I usually check in every six months or so, and the act actually changes a little. Rich adds some new voices and swaps a few out too. I always enjoy the trip back memory lane!
Ok, thank you for the feedback. To everyone out there, please advise if you like the onscreen comments or if you think they should not be on future videos.
Can do without the funny comments but the update on Dick Gregory and Jerry Lewis was informative. Is there a fuller length version of this interview? Mr. Little is always fascinating, and is a rare source of details of the wonderful classic Hollywood era and its stars. Thank you for posting!
I certainly agree with Rich....it is definitely time for a change. I always have loved Rich though. He was definitely THE impressionist to beat when I was a kid watching Carson.
I met Rich Little at the front desk of a hotel I worked for in the early 1970s. He was a real gentleman in person. And that was in Canada here where he returned to do impersonations of Canadian politicians (Diefenbaker and Lester Pearson !) and he was incredibly funny !
What a coincidence. My parents saw Tom Jones there around 1974. Over the years, my mother has mentioned how she walked down uninvited to the stage, with two other ladies who were invited, and "stuck her tongue down his throat". Yep. Very unlike my mother.
Too funny! Your mother wasn't going to miss her chance! I was barely a teen when I had seen Rich Little. My friends dad was in charge of lighting so my friend and I got in free. We did have to clean up between shows though.
That is a cool story. Lucky for you to have seen Rich Little at your impressionable age ... and to get to know the theater as well; it was demolished in 1984.
To go from being interviewed by Johnny Carson to now being interviewed by Stephanie Stone its like falling from Mt Olympus to the depths of a dark abyss .
@@stephee234 You did fine, Ms. Stone. What you did was let the man speak without trying to hog the limelight, yet was still cute in your own way. To me, the best interviewers are the ones who have done their homework on the person they are interviewing so they know who they are and what they have accomplished. It enables you to have genuine respect and appreciation in your voice. The best also let the star do most of the talking, and just work gently and respectfully to guide the conversation so that good content is produced. I'm guessing there isn't much time or opportunity to kind of talk to the interviewee and go over the questions you'd like to ask and also see what they would like to talk about, but if I was being interviewed, I would sure appreciate that to be done. The result of this interview was much better than some of the ones I've seen by some famous interviewers. I'm always at a loss to understand why some of those interviewers got popular because they can be so rude, crude, selfish and often just plain arrogant . Well, keep developing your skills and I hope you always try to bring forth the best from the people you interview. This interview with Rich Little is gold because he was able to express himself as he is. I liked it and I liked the way you did your job. You did very well! God bless you. 😁🙏
Here is a tip for you. If you are going to do an interview involving a famous comedian maybe you should leave your politics out your commentary. It discredits you and the takes away from interview that you are conducting when you include your political opinions.
Hi, thank you for the tip and for watching and commenting on my commentary, with which you may not agree. But if you did agree with it, well then, you may have found my commentary....agreeable.
A Lost generation is a exactly what I thought, I met Rich Little in person when I was working at a restaurant in Cleveland Ohio back in 76 or 77 after one of his shows and I was putting waters on the table to all the people (roughly 15) and 2 or 3 glasses slipped off my tray onto the dining table and got some people a little wet and Rich gave me his Paul Lynde impression...You dummeeee. I wonder if Rich remembers it.
This is actually Part one. Thank you for noticing and pointing it out. I will try to get that changed within a week. Part two is getting some edit changes. Probably should have just left it as is. Thank you for requesting more videos.
Hi, not sure when Rich Little will perform in Portland, OR, but here is some of his info. Maybe a local theater in your area can be asked about Rich Little performing there. Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes, I agree. Also, just saw on RU-vid that Frank Gorshin played the Riddler in the1960's series, "Batman"; and he danced and sang.
Hi, thank you for watching and posting. Yes, you are at least the third person who mentioned that and I agree somewhat. Could have turned this into a political interview, but preferred Rich Little tell his great, unique stories. However, if subtitles had not been added, there may have been less posted conversation. Glad I posted the subtitles.
Yes, that would have been fun to hear. At the time of taping in 2017, Mort Sahl was alive...he died in 2021 at age 94. Thank you for watching and commenting on the video.
Hi Rich, it's good to see you working and still making jokes, but when I first looked at your picture on RU-vid I thought it was David Cassidy. I guess these new glasses aren't working out very well. Keep up the good work Mark Willits
: ) Cute, I actually enjoyed reading your comments...it's refreshing to read over the top adjectives about me or what I do...thank you. Have a nice day.
Good job steph. I didnt even notice the comments below until the haters pointed them out. Trump sycophants will always come out of the woodwork if you don't agree with supporting a white supremacist as president.
Thank you for watching and commenting. My first reaction is to agree with you. 1. Based on previous Trump supporters' comments, though, they might respond that Liberals utilize name calling (which, in my opinion, Trump and his supporters seem to use more often and regularly.) 2. Trump supporters deny they are racist (not sure what percentage is or if there is an agreeable definition, among both Liberals and Conservatives, of Racism). 3. Trump supporters might say they are not haters; that they are protecting their elected leader (and themselves) from criticism.
Since vetting is not detailed in a report for the public, not many people know the criminal background of who is coming into the U.S. from anywhere. Seems that issue is used as a facade to redirect people's attention away from the (possibly longstanding) separation of children from their immigrant parents, which probably occurs in many countries.
1. Just because the public is not accurately informed, does not mean that the intelligence community does not know who is coming in or is not vetting; isn't that part of their job? 2. I see your point about the risk of even a few who slip through the cracks causing havoc, but that is true in life about everything. 3. Cliche that comes to mind: "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater". 4. The risk of being closed off from everybody would probably have a detrimental effect. And a few would slip in anyway, probably both helpful types and those detrimental to society.
To say there is a risk in everything is giving perspective, not solving a problem. Saying "these animals" is subjective and not based on any known statistics of percentages. Computer programs/algorithms can research people real fast. People coming into this country may be more likely to be job creators since they are already risk takers, just like Donald Trump, and just like many other successful people in most other areas of life.
stephee234 seek another line of work. The whole setup was a total fail. The seating arrangement made it impossible for any 80 yr old to turn and look at you, therefore impossible for you to keep him engaged. It's obvious that he's completely uncomfortable and you have nothing exciting to discuss. Terrible. Up your game
"Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake. I shake it off, I shake it off." (From Taylor Swift's song, "Shake it Off".) ... your various comments indicate you are out to spread hate, not love or encouragement.
@@stephee234 kinda sounds like you don't know how to accept criticism and want to label it as "hate." Then again, you admitted in an earlier thread you were liberal. That actually explains a lot, liberals can't accept criticism and deflect from it and try to blame someone or something else. You want hate, here is some. Go into your safe space and keep hiding from the truth like the liberal snowflake you really are.
@Kory Andrews, thank you for watching and commenting. Will heed your advice about accepting criticism and not hiding from the truth. Do you feel our current U.S. President accepts criticism and truth better than me? Speaking of snowflakes, it's snowing now in Las Vegas in February, 2019.
Hi, thank you for watching and commenting. I think this is rich Little's impression of the former Prime Minister and Lester B. Pearson, another former prime minister. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zaGPqksCVdM.html
