He looked so emotionally drained by the end of the play. You can really see how he puts his heart and soul into his performance. It was well worth watching.
I am so envious! Richard Armitage is my favourite actor ever!!!! But I enjoy your joy of having the priviledge to watch him perform from such a close distance..... Thank you for sharing!
Wow, he sounds so hoarse. I hope he doesn't lose his voice during this run. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. If you do get to interview him while in London, be sure to tell him all his fans really appreciate the time he takes with them after the shows. But also tell him we want him to take care of himself as well, so we won't be mad if he ever needs to skip a night.
watching this video put me right there, and that curtain call left me dissolved in tears. Such grace...such dignity...such humility. The man is a miracle...period! Thank you for this vicarious experience, Marlise.
Thank you so much, Marlise! I've seen tears in your eyes, and you made me cry too. Richard's surprise seeing you is so funny! That's our true lovely Richard. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us.
So stunned and blessed that we have you to give us some proper coverage of Richard and the critically acclaimed play that he is starting in this summer. I hope your daughter enjoyed the play as much as you did. And my thanks to The Old Vic Theater
Great video.Thank you. I think it's amazing that he greets his fans with such kindness and grace. I feel like I was there, almost... I wish I lived in England. I would love to see the show.
I wish for all you guys who couldn't come to London that they would put this on D.V.D 'cos even we, who were so lucky to see it would buy it as a wonderful memory of the best play ever staged with the best actor(s) and director. Can you put it forward to the Old Vic Marlise? Richard was truly awsome... I never realised what power and ability he had on stage. It took my breath away
THANK YOU, Marlise! You are an angel for doing this for all of us unable to attend Richard's play! I could feel your emotion and I was in tears watching this. RA is truly a very special man! Thanks for sharing this video.
I was emotionally drained by the end of this show - I agree, the fact that he comes out so soon after to sign stuff is amazing. Thanks for the advice on the tissues -- I needed them! I was sitting opposite where you were sat on Wednesday, right next to the walkway -- Mr A. walked right by me as John Proctor walked towards his death.
Dall'Italia con amore infinito per Richard e il suo meraviglioso talento. Mi emoziona e mi fa battere il cuore. Uomo e attore straordinario.💓💓💓 Complimenti per questo fantastico video. Grazie di cuore! Richard i tuoi fan ti amano e io ti adoro.... Grazie veramente.
I went to the maintee production of this on this day. Such a wonderful play. I went purely for the actor, but I fell in love with the production. So wonderful. I highly recommend.
Thank you so much! Richard is an amazing actor and he has passion. Unfortunately, I can't go see him perform and it's a confort to follow everything online. Thank you again!
THANK YOU for putting this up! I wish so so MUCH that I could watch the play. Thanks for the video, it's the closest that those of us who can't watch it will get to it!
Thank you so much for putting this up. I'm sad to have missed such a riveting performance as I live "across the pond." Maybe someday I will be able to see Richard in something and meet this extremely talented and gorgeous man. And his reaction to seeing you was priceless! :)
This is absolutely fabulous and so very moving. I can see you were a bit overcome yourself Marlise and who could blame you. Thank you for all of it, but especially for capturing those moments at the end where he acknowledges the applause and takes a bow before walking off stage. I have to admit that I wept at that point. Did the gentleman on the right of the screen shed a tear too, I wonder? He seems to wipe one away and appears almost too overcome to applaud at times. Now I have a little insight into what it must feel like to be there. Bless you!
Marlise, thank you SO much for filming this! I really wish I could see the show live; glad you got to experience it and see him afterwards. Loved his reaction. :D
***** Digital Theatre has the show available for purchase or rent. Obviously not as good as being there in person, but I thought it was pretty spectacular to be able to see it in any form.
Wow thank you so much for this video, I live in Paris so I won't have the chance to see The Crucible (and I'm so sad about it) and I feel like I was there too with your video so yeah thank you again!! Richard seems so nice with everyone, this is so touching!
me rompe el corazon no poder ir a londres a ver a Richard actuar pero muchas gracias por este increible video y asi seguir la trayectoria de este fantastico actor! Saludos desde Peru.
Years ago I did a play in which the audience was right on stage like that...it's such a rush as you feel them in the performance with you..seems like such an amazing lad.
Marlise keeps going on about how she doesn't know how Richard can come out and greet the fans after doing two shows. It's called respect for his fans. He knows they are out there waiting for him and he wants that connection. He wants to know what the fans thought of the show and he wants to thank them for waiting for him.
It's great you got to meet him I went on July 12th, I was sat at the back of the stage and one layer up(because those are the cheap young persons seats lol) Although just to point out it's technically illegal to film any part of the performance, including the curtain call.
I waited outside on the very last night. He signed a few autographs and then bolted back inside the theatre!! Think he was overwhelmed by the sheer number of women waiting for him. Disappointed but totally understand his actions. Next time maybe?
I am visiting London for the first time next month and I have tickets to see this show. I am so excited! I was wondering if you (or anyone) has any tips about the stage door experience in general, and the Crucible stage door specifically. E.g. Will it be easy to find? Do I need to run out there right after the show or how long do you wait? Etc. thanks for any help in advance!!
I can't say anything about the experience for The Crucible specifically (seeing it tomorrow though!!!) but the Old Vic stage door isn't hard to find at all. It's just a bit down the road on the left hand side of the theatre, facing the front. You'd probably always do best to be fast, judging other stage door experiences I've had.
