Why this doesn't have a mill views and loads of likes just speaks to how bizarre the modern audience is. They truly dont understand what REAL TALENT is. Right here, ladies and gentlemen. This man is truly a living legend. One of the last great British songwriters. He has transcended time and space and just continues to act from his heart. And that is what makes his art GREAT. Show respect, everyone to this man right here! Don't make em like this anymore.
You are absolutely correct. If the Talking Heads, REM or Bob Dylan were a new band today, their albums would be DOA. The music business is now about identity politics more than the music. People are sheep when it comes to music. 90% would rather listen to Lizzo than RA. I feel bad for those people.
Love Richard Ashcroft! I am in USA & being in Verve Facebook groups...I feel RA is much more well known & famous here in America than people realize! There are thousands of us over here! ❤✌
I Love Richard, since the Beginning with the Verve. He is a real Genius Musician, Songwriter and a true to heart Man. An amazing Person! Forever and You know it...🙏
I love Richard so much followed him for ever, and excited about going to the Kentish Town Forum tonight to see him in concert. What a great interview he is such an honest guy.
I love that Richard is still wearing wallabies (shoes) like me. I've worn them since I was a kid. Love Mr Ashcroft. Beautiful man. Cheers from USA . Love Robin
Every single word it was said did happen in my life too . The way music changed my life was like that . The Carpenters was the first group that came across my life Sing A SONG
I’m sorry but nothing comes close to any Verve records! A northern soul and Urban Hymns is 2 of the greatest albums ever made. hard to top that really.
Can someone please explain what he means when he is talking about other band members saying one thing but he really knows the truth and what happend. Does he mean the reason for the band splitting up and personal issues within the band or something sinister?
Ask Ian Brown - He supported them in 2008, and mentioned Richard had his own dressing room and the rest of the band were squeezed into another. Says it all really.
3:08 Richard is so right , those of us in uk schools in the 80s / early nineties ....it was all a big joke - we literally had just adults standing in our classrooms just to mind us for each hours subjects - there was no education going on at all. It was complete chaos if it was a state run school - and from what i learn many of the private schools were not that great either. We had unqualified people just brought in off the streets and to pretend to be teachers - i seen through it all and just didn't turn up to school , i literally spent my entire school years in our city library or park
Thanks for keeping it real Rich, exactly mainstream has gone backwards, check out ma channel for a new indie artist, merry christmas to all the believers ;)
I love the Verve and I love Ashcroft but his ego is off the charts. You can see why being in a band with him no matter how successful must have been a pain in the arse.
Richard, you're from Orrell. A solidly middle class, semi-rural area. It's frankly laughable that you constantly make out you're from a deprived background.
There are better singers out there, but there's something very authentic and real in his voice, and if you listen to the lyrics in albums like Human Conditions, he goes a lot deeper than many musicians. I'm like a fish with legs, I fell from the tree I made a rocket (check the meaning), I made a wheel I made a rocket (check the feeling), I swam the ocean (check the meaning) I saw the moon (say a prayer), I seen the universe (and beyond) I see you (check the feeling), I see me (check the meaning) That's my reality And while the city sleeps we go walking
