Richard Humphrey Clears Up Misconceptions About the "Downtown" 

In this video, Rich introduces himself as the RollerDance man. He explains that roller skating dance steps require names in order to communicate and share to others how to describe the ways in which we move and workout on roller skates. The names that Rich Humphrey called the choreography pieces to explain moves he created are; long, regular, short, triple, full turn, half turn, half back back now, a-turn, triple rock and around the world. Rich has never used the term ’downtown’ in his language describing roller skate moves. Rich first heard the word ‘downtown’ used to describe his moves after he put out a video about the moves.
In the ‘90’s, he started hearing the term “downtown’ used to describe all of his choreography. He has been correcting people ever since then.
