You ain't lying it may have been the funniest scene in movie history and the funny thing is Richard Pryors talent was so great that it almost became like ordinary that he was that funny it's almost like in basketball you get so used to LeBron having great games that they almost become ordinary and we don't appreciate how great his comedy is above so many others. Hope you're still well and laughing after 13 years
This is quite possibly Richard Pryor's finest work ever. What people don't realize, this allowed Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy to do those movies where they play multiple characters. The first lady in the beginning is Miss Pearly from Friday After Next!! R.I.P. Richard!!!!
@@arthro9259 Agreed!! Richard Pryor could not have topped Blue Collar. I have it on DVD. His greatest work. You know Rich, Yaphet and Harvey hated each other during filming. Richard Pryor made the director almost have a nervous breakdown 😵💫
Truly one of Richard's funniest scenes on film. I love his reaction when he tries to pick up that hot pan off the stove. "You was lookin' comfort??? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! LOL!!!
I have heard the situation with ‘Leroy’ and ‘Annie Mae’ may have been based on Richard’s ‘father’ and mother, and how he was born. Richard’s ‘father’s’ name is was Leroy too.
I remember as a child! That chair and table set my parents had in the kitchen when we lived in Bay area.i was around maybe 5yrs old in 1974.That was the very table my mom made what I thought was kool-Aid and it was tea and I spit it out and also that yellow melon she gave that I thought was a different kind of water melon.Found out it was cantaloupe, so I don't like tea or that fruit at a very young age.
LISTEN very carefully, at time 2:14, they made a overdub of rich's lines. Either he fucked up the line or said something a little too crazy. I can't imagine what can be crazier than what he was already saying though. But it was a very obvious over dub. Also, you can tell by his lips, he was started out to say, " you dont know nothing you stupid...: then the over dub comes. Maybe someone objected to him calling her a stupid bitch.
Good observation. In the old TV version a VERY bad Pryor imitator did his voice over. He said “dumb chick” with a voice that was 2 octaves lower than Pryor’s real voice!
