1977 film starring Richard Pryor (plays 3 roles; an orange picker named "Leroy", the orange picker's father, and a reverend named "Rev. Lenox Thomas"), Lonette McKee, & Margaret Avery.
The quick shot of Sister Sarah smiling with ALL her pearly whites after Richard says the hilarious bit about her ONE cavity (from a childhood incident 🤣) is subtle comedic brilliance.
Craig Price your correction is approved. Let me say what I meant to say about Richard Pryor every comedian has to admit Richard Pryor is the funniest comedian that has ever lived. Craig Price thanks for the correction!!!
@@MisterB2eternityit's never too late! It's not like the window of opportunity closes like athletic dreams. I had Hope's of being a comedian as a teenager and was talked out of it. I went through with it starting in my late 30s and glad I did!
Richard Pryor had the most unforgettable line ever at the end of this movie. "When you hit rock bottom...there's no where else to go but up." It's become my mantra everytime I get knocked down in life and it seems like there's no hope.
My mother took me to see this movie when I was in kindergarten and it's been one of my favorite movies of all time ever since. Richard Pryor was a genius!!!
@@dme1016 Iy ws like that back then my Mother & Auntie took us too the movies CONSISTENTLY especially when something New comes out to see it on the 1st night it's crowded so you know it's going to be good I remember at least back to 73 when "Sparkle", "Uptown Saturday Nite" , "Saturday Night Fever & Grease" we are a Movie Family I did to this day the same thing with my now grown 2 children 😊
Hands down, the funniest movie I have ever seen! Richard had free reign to do what he wanted in this movie and this is why it was soooo funny. I don't know why he did not make a franchise out of this movie. It could've easily been done.
Best Richard Pryor film from the greatest comedian of all-time! I love the part where the Rev. Lenox Thomas uses his "healing glove". Sadly, that part wasn't included in this clip. This movie should be part of the National Film Registry! We all need to lighten up these days. They don't make 'em like this any more!
My wife Lora and I saw this movie back in 1981 on "Showtime" movie channel. The storyline was more dramatic than you think, yet some scenes had us laughing till tears swelled up in our eyes. In my opinion, Richard's best movie (although I would NOT watch this with my parents, hint-hint).
Genius ! It’s easy to see why Richard Pryor was the funniest man on the planet in the 70’s. The funniest part here is when he says Alfred ! He cracked himself up but he kept going
I love this movie every time I see this part a laugh until I cry it is so funny Richard Pryor was a awesome comedian that will never be another just awesome this is too funny😂🤣
I thought I was the only one who thought this (2:05) was the funniest shit in the world, but from the comments, I see I'm in good company. "ALFRETTT!! It brings a laughter to my heart to think of it." 😂😂😂😂
lmao 2:05 he made himself laugh with the Alfred line good way to catch it a keep character I've seen him do that with mudbone too. Laugh at his own joke, but get back to it with straight adlib and by saying "makes me laugh when I think of it"
2:54 until he closes is one of my favorite parts of his "Sin and Lust" sermon. LOL "He said it East, West, North and South. He said it anytime he get ready, cause he know bout see"........!!
No god he is showing us fools doing foolishness What a fool believe a wise man has the power to Reason away Queen of Soul Kings of good white people souls Michael McDonald Kenny Loggins.
