Rick and Morty is one of the most popular and funny adult cartoons of all time, adult swim has created this insane comedy from Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon to a massive audience. Full of memes like Pickle Rick, Get Schwifty, Wubba Lubba Dub Dub, and others. Rick, Morty, Beth, Jerry, Summer and all the other funny characters are hilarious with many funny moments. Technically the machine detoxifies you of what you perceive to be toxic. Non toxic Morty is confident but also arrogant, while Rick cares about Morty when he knows he shouldn't.

There are 2 details that I love in that last episode. The first moment is when Beebo dies. If you notice, the light in Beebo's eyes fade when it dies.. Its very minor moment but knowing the exact moment Beebo dies makes the scene even more dark, especially since it happens almost the moment Rick realizes he screwed up. The second detail is when Summer has to fix Morty and Rick. If you pause and read the emergency protocol card, it actually shows all the steps she needs to follow. The last step being the funniest because it distinctly tells her to leave the room to avoid that barrage of insults, yet she chooses to stay. lol

The scene where they're traumatized at the start of S3E6 cracks me up every time I even agree with Rick and laugh even harder when Morty screams. And Morty shows a completely new side to him when detoxed. The citadel episode was intense and insane. But it had some great moments. S3E8 is an absolute favorite! The end is hilarious when they're both going off on Summer I join in too.

They say in the Detox episode the machine only detoxifies the parts of you that the subject considers toxic. Morty acting like a coked out weirdo isn't a commentary on mental health so much as it's a commentary on what parts of Morty considers unhealthy.

I saw a theory in a comments section once that said that they thought that Rick Prime and C-137 were the only Ricks to ever invent portal travel and the rest of the Ricks were GIVEN that tech by other Ricks. The part that they showed in this video (bootleg portal fluid) might actually give that theory some weight...

Justin Roiland was far from the sole writer, and during this season he'd go weeks without showing up to the writer's room, and stopped writing for the show in season 4. If any season was "the Roiland season" it was just season 1 as Season 2 had Harmon bring in more professional writers that he knew for the express purpose of him and Roiland not having to show up for work as much.

@@thebermuda99some of it did but the concept and the way the dynamics of how the toxic versions are different was well done. And the fact Rick seen his caring for Morty as toxic is a good look into how he thinks and it becomes way more apparent why later on. It's well placed foreshadowing

The fact with the detoxifier is that everything the guy thinks its toxic is gonna be intoxicated from his body so rick became a healthier person but he stopped caring about his family because he thought it was toxic feeling any relation to this people (and specificaly grandpa love for morty) and morty felt that the toxic parts about him was his insecurity but also he thought the another toxic part was his empathic emotion basically making him a sociopath bastard.

Rick considers personal attachments to be a weakness. Morty considers his own insecurities and lack of courage to be a weakness. When rick has no attachments he literally has nothing to hold him back From doing the unspeakable. When morty has no insecurities likewise has nothing that holds him back from doing the unspeakable. Unfortunately, their own toxins mean that they rely on each other to maintain a basic stable lifestyle. Which in and of itself is not healthy. But unfortunately it's the only scenario that seems to work for the two of them.
