This is basically just a skin running on an already existing game. Like a demo or something. It’s running Tribute’s engine they used for “Mercenary Kings” and “Scott Pilgrim vs the World”. The way stands and attacks are directly stolen from characters in Scott Pilgrim

WTAF. As a pixel artist, this video blows me away not only because of the quality of the art and animation itself but all the attention to small details like the camera and background objects moving within the pixel grid. I rarely ever see pixel art in video done so well; usually it's like pixel art images (or individual animated sprites) being manipulated using normal video editing lol. Outstanding stuff here. (Also, this video is 17 _entire minutes_ long-- gives me a headache even thinking about making something like this).

This is just SO much more then amazing. The fact that the creators of this took the time and effort out of their lives to do this is just awesome and I think this deserves so much more then what it has already. I can’t even make an animation of a simple copy and pasted ball roll across the screen smoothly so the fact ANYONE can animate and draw such awesome works like this is awesome!

He already did. Literally all the sprites you need for a full game were made for this video. There's almost no point in NOT making a game now. Platformers like this can be made by a single person if most of the sprites and sounds are already provided.

Not very well optimized, if you ask me. They clearly could have skipped some cutscenes here and there, and certain power-ups help out in the long run if you use them right. The Birdperson wings can be kept around as long as you don't take too much damage, and they're a huge help in terms of attack power and maneuverability. Sure, you can't really move along the ground with them, but the air mobility more than makes up for that.
