If you haven't read any of Bragg's work, you really should if you are southern or grew up in rural New England.

I live in the UK and have no connection to the US, let alone this part of the Deep South; but good, honest writing with a deft turn of phrase and deep pride should enchant anyone. Mr Bragg is one of my very favourite authors.
