I am reading Rick Bragg's book right now and I love it. His knowledge of the American south and music is amazing. Rick has a talent for writing as good as Jerry Lee's talent for music.

If Rick Bragg writes like he talks, it should be a very interesting biography. He seems to understand Jerry Lee's personality and background. I look forward to read his book.

Bragg's Lewis biography is one of the finest books I have ever read on this subject. I love his writing.

You did a great thing writing about JLL, Rick. I obsessively watch a JLL concert or two in a.m. cause I have hard time waking up and JLL does it for me. Love his humor. Thanks be to U-Tube, I can watch his concerts all round the globe over & over. Laff so hard when he says at times to the band, "You boys really should learn that song. You might like it." Love Kenny Lovelace too. A consistently, loyal, and cheerful good-hearted man.

I'm currently reading this book and I have to say it's one of the finest music bios I've read and believe me I've read a lot. This man uses words like an artist uses paint - his depictions of the South when Jerry Lee was coming up is as close as you'll get to being there. The definitive account of the life of, in my opinion, the most 'for real', genuinely dangerous and exciting musician we've ever had.

I'm not condoning Jerry's relationship with Myra but the thing that I don't get about liberals who would condemn him is that they are all for teens having sex and they also talk about how all love is equal, so if it's natural and ok for teens to have sex and all love is equal, (using their logic) then what is wrong with Jerry marrying his thirteen year old cousin? He didn't force her to marry him

No child should be in a permanent relationship before they have even fully developed into an adult physically or experienced life with a good education. How in God's name can a child reach his or her potential without life experience to show them how to make correct decisions for themselves, let alone choose a partner for a lifetime. You sound grossly naive. Times were very different back then and there was little education but thank God girls no longer find themselves having to get married at such pitifully unprepared young ages. They need time for physical and mental growth before committing themselves to a marriage.

Savannah Mayor Murray Silver? 😂 Sorry, Mayor, if you want the truth, Murray’s & Myra’s book is widely rated (by critics & public) as average or below. I also hate to break it to ya: Rick Bragg has won a Pulitzer for his writing-Murray Silver ssstinks! He makes Ian Halperin look like Capote. Hell, he’s not even a WRITER-he’s a photographer who rode Daddy’s coattails. The bright side? You’re unburdened by the anxiety of the NY Times contacting you for literary criticism anytime soon. 👍
