Back in the day most programmers were on a tight schedule to do a conversion of some game for some system so they could only do so much to make it great, whereas homebrew programmers can take as much time as they want (usually) and really polish it up. They REALLY get to discover and show the full capabilities of these old systems. Even the VERY resource-limited Atari 2600 is getting some impressive games and ports that would have been nearly impossible back then. Nice to see NEW software AND hardware coming out for these old systems!
@@IntyMichael Hard to believe that 40k is considered HUGE in comparison to the original carts they made for those old systems like the Atari 2600 and Intellivision. 2600 games were 8k or less, but I'm not sure about the Intellivision games at the time.
