The thing is, we obviously know from Rick in the later seasons that Shane was right on some things especially with Randal. BUT Shane got to that “season 5 Rick mindset” before any of the truly crazy awful shit happened. I know the first few weeks were really bad, but Shane getting to that same mindset with seemingly so little to face in comparison it’s hard for me to give him the benefit of doubt.

IQ goes to shane, the reason Rick outsmarted Shane is because Rick had a lot of battle experience and knowledge so that's why and the reason Shane smarter than Rick because Shane knowing more strategy and planning than Rick and setting up. Shane adapted quickly than rick, he manipulated the whole group that Randall ran away
His plan to stage Randall's death was deeply flawed (Rick points out that there were no signs of a breakout at the barn and that it looked like Randall was released from outside). Rick saw right through Shane. Shane has way more BIQ than IQ. Rick has both, although his BIQ was still less developed by season 2.

How does shane get battle iq. Yes shane led rick out to the forest but rick later admits to lori that he knew. And prior to that idk which episode shane was going to shoot two walkers behind a fence but rick intervened by cutting his hand to lure the walkers over
Shane will win because he is in the punisher mode in season 2 and also he is mad because Lori is not with him any more so he is taking it out on people and his friend rick grimes
There were too many mistakes, Rick surpasses Shane in combat but he has less resistance and that can be seen both in their fight and in the other fights that Rick had
I see your point, but the reason why I give speed to Shane is probably cause he was carry a bag on him, even with the bag on him he still caught up to Rick, and he show more speed feats.

@@thedagfather8807 yup, shane got Rick on the ground 2 times so he could have keep on punching him if he wanted to but his goal was killing Randall first. If shane's goal was to kill Rick, he could have done it way before cuz he wont have given Rick 2 opportunities to stand up
