Man! The first time I heard Rick's cover, I was completely blown away! Rick's voice is simply unique, and phenomenal! I was just mesmerized by Rick's version of, "DREAM LOVER", and I just knew the late, great, Bobby Darin, would be totally proud of Rick reviving one of his great hits. Rick was special, and his warmth and great talent came shining through to the millions of fans that loved him. Our heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to the sould of Rick Nelson for giving us so many years of enjoyment. We love Ya, Rick!
Kristelyn, I'm an American combat Veteran, and I don't easily cry. But, just as Yourself, when Rick Nelson tragically died on New Year's Eve, I cried off and on, throughout that long sad night. Thank You for your sensitive input. Rick was a phenomenal talent, and we'll always miss him dearly.
Ricky's sons, Matthew and Gunnar, of the group Nelson, do a tribute show to their Dad, called 'Ricky Nelson Remembered', singing his songs, along with videos and stories, and tour the Country with it. Great show! Great sons!
It is amisfortune that Ricky Nelson is no longer among us ,however ,I and all those who like his songs will go on listening to them until the remainder of our lives .
Makes me cry. I'll never forget hearing about his death. It was New Year's Eve, right? I spent the night with friends; slept on their sofa; listening to radio all night (couldn't sleep); heard the news break on the radio...cried till dawn and most of the next day.
I well remember that New Years evening. Was with friends at their home listening to the radio when we got the sad news. The celebration ended right then.
Rick and The Stone Canyon Band were great. I saw them at Mr. Kelly's in Chicago in 1979. I remember Rick all the way back to "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" days. Rick had a great voice in 1957, and was a great performer until his untimely death in 1985.
He had such a beautiful voice! Not many people get better looking as they get older, but, boy, he sure did! I could look at and listen to him all day long!!
I figured he looked about 35 here. Try 45? Dayum! He sounded good too, turning the somewhat brassy and hectic original into a chill rumination on loneliness.
I met my first dream lover in a dream a couple of nights ago. I'm no young chick anymore. And never dreamed that, that kind of life happened in a dream, not sexual, loving. And I just now posted on another site that Ricky was my dream lover when I was young, so I would never dream alone, and that I never missed a show, and, honestly, I never knew Ricky sang this song😳 Then to my shock, here it is! The guy in my real as life dream, had short hair in front and shoulder length hair in the back. No, it couldn't have been Ricky. I only thought of Ricky today, sorry to say, but what a coincidence ‼️😳 And he & I lived outside. He had a small row boat and we had to separate because a family unrelated, would call me in to eat, our house by the river, but him & I couldn't tell anyone of our relationship. I woke up, thinking, " There was no reason to hide it. " why were we hiding our relationship? My real dream lover.👄💑. I said, " oh, that song! Now I know what it means after all these years. There really is a real life dream lover. I hope I see him again. He made me so happy! ❤️ And Ricky sang the song! Now that's spooky.
