As I did as well, FA. Mid-70's, Omaha, Pershing Auditorium, I got past security, climbed up and peered over the wooden fence. There he was with his manager. We spent 10 minutes talking till the intro music started up..."Rick, let's go, it's time. "Gotta go. Thank you, Dale."
I'm 66 and l first heard "Poor little fool" on my little transistor radio when l was 12, in 1969 and it was released in 1958 so he must have been very young, around 18 according to my math, makes sense?
Toujours beau malgré les années, toujours sa belle voix, je l adore pour toujours, il est beau, il a une voix magnifique, il est tellement charismatique❤❤❤
I was maybe 8 when I got my first Rock N Roll record. It was Poor Little Fool and I never looked back ! Thanks Rick. (And James Burton, guitar and Joe Osborn bass )
I showed my wife this video. She said Rick is more handsome at 45 than he was when he was 20!! I'm 69 and I remember VIVIDLY the day of December 31, 1985 when he died in that tragic aviation incident. He was very talented and loved by many. May he RIP.
This was the band that died with him on that DC-3 up in Avery, Texas area. I have been to the sight......that was a fateful New Years Eve. I will never forget it....part of my youth died when he did......Miss you EHN....rip. RR
I know. Bless David. He really loved his brother. I grew up on this family. Rick was still going strong all those yrs later. 20 odd yrs after he did this song he still had it was great.
Saw him at the Tulsa Fair 1985, in Oct before he was killed. I threw a rose up on the stage & it landed just perfectly on his guitar & stayed there for the remainder of his song. Such beautiful music from a beautiful man.
Ricky Nelson was hot till the day he died! I remember my Dad took us as kids to see him in concert in Toronto and he died shortly after. He had the bluest eyes ever!!
I had the pleasure of attending a Rick Nelson concert back in 1978 at the DB'S Club in the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn Michigan and it was a dream come true to listen to his music live? Having grown up watching Ozzie and Harriet and following Ricky Nelson as a child and loving all his music what true classic that was, R.I.P Rickey Nelson!
oh my my. he was wonderful. I love him... his picture hangs on my wall in bedroom. I miss him and his lovely voice and his great songs. rip... thanks for sharing this great video.
Rick Nelson was a talented and underrated artist. He reived allot of television exposure, but Rick was talented too. You don't sell 30,000,000 records on hype alone.

I just want to say Rick's birthday will be mother's day as we remember him let us not forget his band members Bobby Neal was a very great guitarist Rick Enfield was a great drummer and the others of the band. I miss them as much as Rick Nelson RIP to all of them.
One of the most adoring memories of my mum & step father is their love of music..this is how I came to appreciate Ricky Nelson's talent and songs and all legendary singers of the 50s & 60s. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, some of the young artists with horrible clothes and unflattering haircuts could take a lesson from a smooth classy act like Ricky Nelson. What style, and I always loved this song. Thank you for sharing.
Everyone I am 63 good years, full blooded cowboy ,my wife is the best there ever will be. We both loved Rick Nelson and his singing. No way he took Drugs. I am strickly country and not this crap now day.

Saw him in Austin at Liberty Lunch many years ago. My biggest impression is that he was musician with a lot of integrity, fame, etc; aside. I was glad I went to see Ricky.
The man who inspired me to play a guitar & want to sing his beautiful songs when I was 10. Thank you Ricky & Happy Birthday (5/8/2022). At 70, I'm still singing your songs celebrating alongside you with a warmth & a sigh in my heart. Rest in Peace & Love 🎂
Being 66, I grew up with Rick & his music. Truly one of the greats in Rock & Roll. He stayed true to himself and his music. British invasion, disco, punk, heavy metal... you still could depend on Rick for his outstanding music: classic Rock! I'm not sure if its on you tube, but Ozzie (his dad) produced the very first music video: Rick doing Traveling Man, years before videos became common place! Nothing brings a smile to my face like a Rick Nelson song - love ya Rick, always will!
At the age of 11 years old I think that I wore out the jukebox copy of that song at Napa Valley Ranch Club. I was just starting to learn guitar then....Rick was a major influence along with James Burton, Jimmy Dodd, and others.
I'm 52 years old I grew up listening to rick from my brother's and sister who's quite a bit older than me. But Rick always had a great band and he always was clean cut and 85 percent of his songs were great.
I was walking around an Auto show in the Oakland Coliseum in the late 70's and in the back of the arena a small band was playing as the people were looking at the cars. Hardly anyone stopped to watch Rickey Nelson and his band; I was amazed to see who was playing, stopped for a few minutes and went back to looking at cars. To me, he was like a neighborhood kid next door. RIP Rick, you are missed.
Rick Nelson, actor and musician, for a lifetime an honest unaffected style, consumate good taste, and musical artistic integrity untill his dying day. A man as strong as his work.
Lordy I have loved Ricky Nelson my entire life. Wherever he is, hope he's resting in peace. I am olde now & still miss him madly. He was my first love & I spent many a night yearning for his beautiful soothing voice & wildly mesmerizing turquoise eyes. Love love love love love love love love

God bless you Ricky! You left us all quite a legacy, to enjoy your beautiful music. It is hard to watch these great videos and know that his band lost their lives too. RIP Ricky and the Stone Canyon Band.
That is cool. How much his music had an impact on you He would have been the same age of my father if was alive today. I was 13 when he was killed and I remembered how sad my parents were to hear it and I must say he was a talented and very handsome man. I am glad to see his music is liked by other generations such as mine. I am 39 years old and I enjoy many legendary song of that era and this is one of my favorites
This has been and always will be my LIFE-THEME SONG! I have been to a lot of places but have many more to go! Ricky is one of my favorite all-time artists! Keep rock'n Ricky! Good channel, John!
There's a great story about how Rickey came to record this song that was really written for the great Sam Cooke to record. Sam's manager at the time threw in the trash can and one of Ricky's group members pulled it out of the can and brought it to him. The rest, as they say, is history.
