I’m somewhat in the know. And I’m hearing through the grape vine that Pitino will be bringing Iona top recruit J. Simp with him to St Johns, which is big. Hoping Pitino doesn’t bust early! He is older now so that tends not to be an issue with men that age. Fingers crossed!
Will be interesting to see if he recruits over the current roster and to what extent. I think quite a few. Don't like the negativity going on with CMA. Made a decision, extension. Pay him his money down and wish him luck. Nickle and dime BS is not good PR. Lastly, can you guys do a deep dive into the NIL. How does it work? Who are these third party organizations? How much $$$$ can the players make. If substantial, combined with the portal, can turn around a program in a year. Maybe why Big Ed went to Gtown. It wasn't for the increase in pay.

Didn’t love the CMA news either, pay him and let’s move on to bigger and better thing with Pitino. Maybe I’ll dig deep on all things NIL now that we figure to be a big player.
Joel Soriano announced today he’s coming back to play for Rick. Seems like every other player will have to be decided on and it seems certain plenty won’t return.
Hey BHL. I’m not one of the “there’s nothing to worry about” crew in regards to recruiting but I think it’s import for us to remember what an improvement pitino is as a coach over anderson. You have people like Jeff Goodman ranking us in his pre season top 25 based solely on Rick being our coach. As far as the kids go, we got rid of a group who hadn’t achieved anything (minus joel) and have started to fill out a roster with mostly older guys who will only fill up a scholarship spot for a year or two. That will allow Rick time to develop relationships with top hs talent and replace those older guys with better recruits in the coming years. I’d agree that I do have concerns about the level of kids we have signed up so far but if Rick hits a few home runs (Silas Demary, Brady Dunlap, Mackenzie Mgbako 🙏) then we’ll all be doing cartwheels.
