This is a great example of what a father can be in a child's life....rap was not something on the father's radar but music is the link that brings them together. The father made a conscious effort to open his mind to his sons world and is enjoying the fruits of his labor..we all get to enjoy it, and look in amazement when the father recognizes artist by the sound of their voice, he knows terms and 808 comment...come on. Thank you both.

@ChristopherPatriarca1
@ChristopherPatriarca1 10 месяцев назад
Just for fact sake, his name is William Leonard Roberts II. He chose the moniker "Rick Ross" because of a drug trafficker named Rick Ross, also known as Freeway Rick Ross. The real Rick Ross ran a massive drug empire in Los Angeles in the 1980's. He was caught, convicted and sentenced to life in prison. He received early release in 2009 and has authored a few books and is an activist who speaks out about the dangers of drugs and the lifestyle surrounding it. You can imagine the real Rick Ross was none to pleased to hear that the rapper Rick Ross was using his name.
@bc_8314
@bc_8314 10 месяцев назад
He was selling the coke the Cia/Fbi was bringing into America to fund wars in South America. He went to prison illiterate.Taught himself to read. Studied law books & found the bullshit in his case & got himself out. While fat Rick Ross was a Corrections Officer. Freeway Ricky did try to sue him about using his name, but I think the case got thrown out.
@crummycuzz
@crummycuzz 10 месяцев назад
Absolutely , to add to it, there were lawsuits concerning the name and the fact that he made more money with the use of the name, he was allowed to continue but he still changed it to the Moniker "Ricky Rozay". The real Rick ross was allegedly funded by the CIA and is the topic of a Film entitled Kill the Messenger , and the Tv show SNOWFALL is inspired by him, which gave Credence to the Argument, that the Government Created Crack and sent it to the Urban areas to Hurt black people, and was a Direct Result of Iran Contra.

It's weird how no one mentioned that Rick Ross the rapper was a correctional officer but he stole someone else's identity to becone a rapper. That's why it was jarring when Kai's dad said it felt harder than TI or Jeezy. Rappers are the best actors, it's all wrestling, it's all kayfabe. No one cares about reality.

Rick Ross a.k.a William Robert II was a Federal Correctional Officer before he became a rapper so likely met the real Noriega there. Also, there are so many legendary Florida Hip Hop artists in this video e.g. Trina, Trick Daddy, Pit Bull, Scott Storch, etc. And Rick Ross's sound(especially his early stuff) is heavily influenced by Miami Bass Club Music. One of the O.G. Hip Hop Groups to come from Miami was 2 Live Crew and you can hear their influence in a lot of Miami artists that followed them. Speaking of Drake, his song with Ross ,"Aston Martin Music", is still a banger to this day!

give your dad DMX- 'Who We Be' if you havent already. it is forever my fav DMX track and it has a lot of emotion in it. I think your dad would like it, the video matches the emotion too.

I recommend reading his biography and few others really eye opening and puts thing in perspective. That video had some of Miami’s finest rappers in it.

Definitely time to introduce pops to DJ Screw. I am not the only one who commented on the All Screwed Up Vol. 2 poster in the background. Love to see it

I can see that DJ Screw poster in the background. Would it be too soon to introduce him to Chopped & Screwed music?

Trick Daddy was in this video. He’s another Miami rapper. I think your dad would like some of his music especially Amerika, Thug Holiday, I’m A Thug, Sugar, In Da Wind and Let’s go which is a crazy train sample
