Best hour spent on RU-vid in ages. Beautiful food. Those young chefs are a different class, and Rick is humble enough to know that. I want to go to Japan now. Great upload. Thanks.
We have amazing food in Great Britain. Unfortunately people don’t appreciate it as they do in cultures such as Japan. I particularly found it interesting how Japanese are so proud of being Japanese that they love any food that represents the Japanese flag. Just like Italians. They like foods that are tricalore, that represent the the red, white and green that of tge Italian flag. I also like the Japanese sense of humility and respect. When Rick Stein was dining with the previous Prime Minister of Japan, he was given the seat at the top of the table. A true sign of humility and respect. My mother is Southern African. And like the Japanese. You take and give things in both hands. Really loved watching this. Us if British and American heritage can learn a lot from this. We should also be proud of the red, white and blue if both the British and American flags.
This is another excellent production. The Ambasador was very much happy and proud for hosting his gusts with a cuisine so rich and diverse. For him it was another opportunity to promot Japanese rich culture. For our own brother Rick, well what can we say? As always you are the best and looking forward the upcoming video. Much love and greetings from your regular follower from Ethiopia. 🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹
I live about 2 minutes walking from his Restuarant in Sandbanks. I have never eaten there before but I walk past the Restuarant everyday and the different smells that come out are just heaven.
I love how rick embraced the Japanese cuisine,And how enthusiastic you are about fish , you make want to go to Japan , would love to like fish how you do,I'm abit simplistic on the fish I eat alot of the fish we have in England ,but would l like a diet of more variety of fish of the world, legend you are 👍👍
I was feeling the same way. When Rick came was summoned the ambassador after the dining he turn back and look to make sure the young cheafs are not left behind. He is a very humble and respectful gentlman. Like wise the young chefs they are very polite and carfule.
This chef's are my food heroes-rick stein, Keith floyd- Gary Rhodes- also love hugh fearnley whittingstall of river cottage, download the apps "all 4" if you want to watch the whole episodes
Japan is a beautiful country but cold to hell as well, I been there during 80s. The food is very delicious, the beef is taste very good. The troutie guide told us the cow is massage and massage as well.
I really dont think cooking needs to get you stressed. Its really about simple ingredients done well. Do feel chinese Japanese seafood cooking is the best in the world
Smart man! You right, cooking is all about choosing the best inputs, choosing a good combination of seasonings and choosing the best method of cooking and fire control which will not damage the delicacy of the food. Thats what differentiate peoples like me who loves cooking and a skilled professional chef.
@@stephenobrien5909 Hei.!! Asahi Super Dry is the only beer that I will drink. The first time that I visited Japan, was October, 1988. Our Japanese hosts bought out a huge tankard of Asahi. My boss said : " You better drink some to be polite ".. I ended up drinking three .... great beer . I'm an Aussie, and, I never drink Australian beer. They sell Asahi in 125cc cans, 175cc, 250cc, 350cc, 500cc, 750cc, 1 litre and 2 litre cans
Its very well Tuna being sold for 50 grand that to me makes no sense at all in anyway shape or for. Yes its a nice fish but really 5000 thousand is too much let alone 50 grand. Same as lobster really i actually think crab meat is better than lobster. I dont understand how people charge so much for this stuff when actually when you think about it as long as you know there is a clean beach you can gather all the seafood you want for nothing
I do feel that sashimi and sushi is overrated all you taste is the ginger soy a bit of garlic may aswel drink that as ive tried sashimi and sushi it wasn't anything special which i felt was a shame as i love seafood
Great program, but for me he made a typical mistake, lack of knowledge, and respect, Italia is not just pizza and meatballs, which is garbage often seen in films, mi offenda parecchio a sentire queste cose da gent ignorante, l’Italia es assai come la Francia, Giappone, as for the States and England, let’s not even open mouth, pointless
41 seconds in he says that's the difference between Japanese and Cornish,I am Cornish and I took great offence to that remark and he's not even Cornish he's from Oxford so don't bloody speak for us ok rick.... secondly when you go abroad no matter where you go you give Britain a terrible bashing..... If you're not happy here why don't you sod off to one of your wonderful countries probably France since that seems to be the only place you seem to make programs about..... I'm sure you can afford it with all the overpriced fish and chip shops you've stuffed into Cornwall......sorry but I find this man rude and abrasive .
Britain deserves a good bashing gastronomically, Rick is right and alright, or would u rather prefer Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Oliver? Do they even cook any British food at all except fish and chips or some effortless roast and stews....
wth, I'm not expecting or want some one to cook my native food every where I go or visit, even if I am high ranking official! bloody hell I rather explore the local cuisine! already lost interest in watching this egoist episode
