THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Dear Rick,I just want to thank you so much for your '' HOW TO '' video. lt help me so much.We had a dryer with a bad plug end and watching your video learned me that l did'nt need the whole cord just the plug end.SAVED me a nice piece of money. Was going to buy a new dryer but now l don't have to.Your video was truly a blessing. Once again THANKS, Damon & TYE! P.S. KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING!
Excellent video. Clear concise and well presented. The camera was actually where you can see what's going on, unlike many other videos out there. I'm about to change out a similar plug and this was very helpful. Thanks so much... Ken Marina CA
Rick I successfully changed the plug end on my sump pump and because of your video, it wen off without a hitch... That means is worked Rick :). Thank you for the advice.
Thanks Rick This vid was super helpful. I have a weed whacker where the plug in cord is super frayed where it meets the cord. I can now change it out myself and make sure its safe to use. Your step by step and all of the little details really really helps. All the best !
Thank you for your video. I need to replace the plug on my magic-air car pump to inflate the kayak. I think I can do it now after having watched your video. :)
Thanks for this video Rick! best one I've seen for this :) Would you recommend the same process for a vacuum cleaner plug head replacement? I have an vacuum that's 12 amps. It has an 1100 watt motor. one of the prongs came out of the head and i'd like to replace the whole plug end/head. How do i go about choosing the right amps for my vacuum? It's a 2 prong plug head.
What if the plug is non-polarized and ungrounded? I did this and the equipment doesn't have a ground wire either. The screws in the plug are not color-coded either and the blades are the same. Where to screw the white wire and the black one?
Is it okay to take out one black adapter for the cord and leave in the other one? It is too tight if I put both in. Now there are spaces around the cord though. Do I need to cover that with electrical tape?
Rick, I received a product from China which came with a EU style connector. I am trying to replace the tip with a US standard grounded plug. I just dont know which wires are which after I cut the EU connector off!? Mine are Yellow, Blue and Brown! lol Do you know how those wire colors might work out to be so I can put on a new grounded tip? Thank you!
andreboy1 Most should be 14 gauge- rated for 15 amps as this is the industry standard but to test for sure is just from experience or you can measure it too
thanks for the vid, I needed to know the colors for the wires on my project (green & blue) had me stumped big help and good to know about the amp* I would have just bought any plug. now I know what I am after.
