I worked as the secretary at a big construction company. Them old dogs wouldn’t let anyone f with me. They were my favorites. You better believe, I kept cookies on my desk for them. I guess companies loved to keep attractive secretaries as bragging rights. But, whenever a contractor came in and hung around my desk too long. Them old dogs were there. Like they didn’t have another thing to do. We all know that was a lie. They’d come get their cookie and sit real close to whomever wouldn’t leave. I swear boss man had them on a pager or text. We tried adopting a dog from the shelter. They told us someone else already applied. We asked again a week later, dog was still there waiting for someone else to pick it up. The dog was still there for a month before someone finally took him. We were ready to take him the first day.
