The ironic thing is that everybody says "I don't care what others think or feel" yet everybody keeps stating there feelings and opinions... has anybody got the fucking memo: nobody cares what the other person thinks or feels... so have some, get drunk, do your drugs and fuck off... oh and support Australia...
I love how he deconstructed the entire event of Pam's stalker and slowly built it into the most ridiculous hilarious story ...even though it seemed like she was still a bit traumatized at the begining just remembering that creep it's like Ricky fought that with comedy to the point she was able to freely laugh at it as well - that's the absolute best way to use comedy and Ricky is amazing and so quick witted.
If a had a mansion for a house with a built in swimming pool room, gym, cinema room etc like Ricky has then that would be my idea of a night in aswell 😂
@@pmcguinness3041, oh please! Stop blaming autocorrect--why would autocorrect suggest a word that doesn't exist except in the vocabulary of morons who think it's cool to speak like a douchebag?
There's a LOT of us who are All wise to the bullshit of the ways of the world NOW. However,,, everyone is just tooooo FRIGHTENED TI BLOODY SAY ANYTHING ANYMORE.... Needless to say I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE CHICKEN SHEEP
I absolutely love it that he found humour in her story and made her laugh about it. It's good that, even for a moment, she could think about that person as someone ridiculous rather than scary. It's what comedy is for... and Ricky Gervais knows that.
Yes! I was thinking the exact same thing. Ricky is having a therapy session with her, with healing laughter as his tool. Brilliant. Also good for Pam that she jumped on board and started joking as well.
This is very refreshing to see an interviewer happy to let his guest run with the show and almost take over and not bombard him with 50 questions in 30 seconds. I hope this is the way forward. Makes a huge change from the Piers Morgan style.
I might just be too emotional/thinking about this too much, but knowing Ricky likes to use humor to kind of disempower the bad in life, and seeing him make joke after joke with Pam at her stalker’s expense (which was no doubt a traumatic experience), and making her laugh about it is very heartwarming. I think he has a bigger heart than a lot of the crazy people on Twitter and shit want people to believe.
@bootnsoot Oh good god you have to be kidding to single out Trump followers. Like the Democrats on any level are any better. Sorry as a rational person I can tell you without reservation the left and the right are both full of it. AOC as you may recall said that it is better to be morally correct than factually correct. As if one can come to a consensus on morality
Agreed. When I was a kid in the 1980s (born 1975), the walls in the mens restrooms had obscenities with crappy spelling and grammar errors. Today social media is the same thing.
holy shit... I don't know why, but it genuinely took me til like a little more than halfway thru the video to realize that was Pam Anderson! I honestly at first it was just the co-host of the show who did less of the talking lol
Pam Anderson has a LOT going on intelligence-wise beneath the pretty shell everybody focuses on. You look deeply into her eyes, you can see it immediately. Those eyes have seen some serious s--t. Her beauty, from a very early age, allowed her access to the inner sanctums of some of the most powerful people in the world...she's seen how things "really are". Trust me, at 50 you're wiser than at 25. She's prob. a cool, cool woman.
Ricky’s analysis is an astute one. I think I agree w/ him. Being around for the beginning of the “world wide web,” it is disheartening to see what it’s turned into. I don’t think anyone back then could’ve imagined that it would turn into this frenzied hateful screaming match whenever someone expresses a different view. Back then, we were all thrilled to be able to chat with other people from around the country, & the world. In general, people were friendly & polite, & were respectful towards each other, as if we were face to face.
I think the amount of circlejerking and idiocracy on the net came as a result of internet being a new thing and parents having no idea how to supervise their children or educate them on it. Schools didn't either, it was moving too fast. The result is that all the fools of this particular generation was allowed to take root, and still exist to some degree. Having been born in '88 and been on the net since 56k modem, I see it stabilizing. The problem now, is how certain countries (like USA *cough cough* ) revoke net neutrality, or make their own "internet" altogether (like Iran). Basically circlejerking turned nationwide. You know, like all major religions today have lost all their meaning (mostly) because they've been defiled over the centuries as tools for politics by sociopathic rulers and leaders. Internet is just the newest tool in the box, and it's us, the commoners, who have an obligation/responsibility to learn independent thought, critical thinking, reasoning, logics and other matters of psychology and science, empiricism and proof reading. It's way too late for us to accept all the bullshit that gets thrown our way. We are responsible for the future... we should take care to handle it like the fragile thing it is... the Earth and humanity is robust, but we are way too many to be reckless, it's just too much.
@tinylilmatt people always thought they're right about everything: kings, pharaos & other dictators claimed that they have "god's blessing"; in 1979 ayatollah Khomeini "had all the answers"
@tinylilmatt it's the same like supporting the ayatollah in 1979: it was an Iranian mob, in which everyone claimed that Koran is the greatest book ever, and the ayatollah is the 3rd smartest person ever (after Allah & prophet Mohammed) - you don't need the internet to have a fanatical crowd
@tinylilmatt data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.CD?end=2018&locations=DZ-HR-HU&start=1995 Islam isn't the root cause of stupidity/delusion/fanaticism: low IQ is the root cause; the chart I showed above suggests that, for example, central Europe has higher IQ than North Africa, which means that North African internet should have more stupidity/delusion/fanaticism/trash/Dunning-Kruger than central European internet
That's likely because you watched the video while logged into your account, maybe watched it few times over, or maybe even clicked the like button. Your RU-vid account tracks your viewing habits and recommends things of a similar nature. Watching Ricky = more Ricky
Gervais is one of the funniest comedians around nowadays. The way he picked up on Pamela's stalking story and came up with all those jokes was fantastic. BTW Pamela's great as well and a good sport (just look at her roast). Thx Pamela for supporting PETA!
thanks for the show brilliant that mr gervais immediately connected to ms anderson as an individual. for him, it wasn't just a story to be adjudged. then he made her laugh and weep about her own tradgedy! and she appreciated very much to be treated as a human being. bravo bravo bravo i don't watch tv, nor social media, nor movies, and wasn't aware of mr gervais except as a name. first view of his work was yesterday, watching his compering golden globes (omg!) a delight
This show is great. Some of the best, most honest and insightful interviews with British actors, writers etc that I’ve seen have taken place here whereas they generally play it for superficial laughs on British and US talk shows.
I haven't seen this Ricky Gervais interview until now and I just realized that he thinks the same way I do in regards to human evolution ... My hypotesis is that around 5 or 10 years ago the human being reached its peak of evolution and we are 'de-volving' now!
All the derogatory comments about Pamela Anderson? How dare she age like we all do? Still a beautiful woman more intelligent and sensitive than you know. Ricky such a funny genius, never afraid to speak his mind.
She was never beautiful, and even less so now, with all the plastic wrapping. Se does seem like a nice person. (Just don't try tell us she's beautiful, that's subjective, but also seems highly emphatic and not genuine) (My first association was remembering some ad about how "everybody is different" and it showed naked people, the thing was that they had abnormally weird tits and body shapes and faces and they were like "this is normal" and naturally my reaction is "oh fuck off". I mean, lol, there's being supportive, and there's being idiotic/gaslighting/propagandist - would never say or act different around straight up Quasimodo people but don't you dare try tell me that's NORMAL because they you need a fucking reread of the very definition, things ARE what they ARE - whether it MATTERS is a whole other thing ) LOL sorry for the long rant! Not that relevant but I guess it's been on my mind a bit lately and had to get it out
Yeah it's sad. You just know the men making these comments are probably NOT attractive themselves, but they feel the need to pass judgement on her looks. No self-awareness or shame.
@@L_Martin It's an extremely subjective topic, though. OK by me if you'd find her beautiful for her personality. But all the plastics and makeup? Just can't wrap my head around it Only speaking for myself here (Also late night insomnia rant I had there, yikes)
When your entire persona as a young person depends upon your physical beauty then you must expect that derogatory remarks will be made when your beauty fades.
Ricky Gervais is, to my humble opinion, the best current comedian out there. Maybe even in the last 20 to 30 years. He's just a funny guy. And sure, he has one other quality that makes him so much closer to my own take on life. He's an outspoken atheist. Ricky, you're the man.
I adore Ricky. I am elderly and not on social media. I’ve had a rough few years, caring for my husband who died 18 months ago and I can’t walk due to medical misadventure. I have been binging on Life After etc and just want to thank him for helping me smile and laugh. He is sooo clever. His pet hates are certainly mine. I was a great cook and nothing made us happier than I nice calm enjoyable dinner at home.
This guy just lost control of the interview to Ricky who was hilarious...especially when he made Pamela laugh about what was probably a very traumatic incident for her. Love him!!!
I've only watched three clips (so far) but this is perhaps the most relaxed, intelligent and genuine talk/interview show I've seen, and I've been round the sun a few times.
I agree with him about living trough the best time ... i'm a working class guy ...and it seems like we went through a more improved period and that now it's gradually reverting back to the pre war times... with regard the lives of everyday people.
I love Ricky Gervais so much, I think he's my spirit animal. Amercans always seem a little on guard around him but usually warm to him when they see how real he is.
@Blue Douche Mark In 2007, we lost the great George Carlin, who was a voice crying out in the wilderness of modern society. He was neither liberal nor conservative. He preferred to be a-political and called out bullshjt whenever he encountered it. His often crude words were quite prophetic. Today he would have been 'cancelled' by the 'useful idiots' who have taken hold of the entertainment industry. Ricky Gervais is Carlin's successor and a brilliant one at that.
Why? Because she was clothed?;) Just teasing! But to be honest I thought she looked totally OK and normal. She just look grown up to me. Sorry but even sex bunnies grow old.
Social media as a whole is our public toilet wall, some are witty and incisive, most of it is just low grade contempt and 'ring frank for a good time' mentality.
A toilet indeed , but one we should all have privilege to. We been feed the media shit too long. It's bad now but it will get better once we're all toilet trained.
@@jamesolivito4374 Well expressed James, in fact it has evolved over the past 15 years, I am being perhaps too cynical, at least we have this open conduit to the voice of the people, despite the commercial attempts to reign it all back to their control.
Well said Mr Gervais. Spot on. Feelings are given more consideration than facts lately. And it seems embraced by design same old story, "divide and conquer", the more uneducated people are becoming, the easier to control, period.
