Well that's a surprise, it's only 9:30 where I live. I love this figure and it's definitely one of my favorite DC multiverse figures now. I definitely agree he needs more paint though. I think he's worth every penny of $23.
Extremely hot take: Riddler's base design was always kinda lame. I feel like a redesign similar to to DC's Onomatopoeia, Mr. Bloom, or Spellbinder from Batman Beyond would be a major improvement. Make him all green, put a question mark on his face and heck, even keep the bowler hat, cane and coat!
Nothing questionable about this review... your comments are spot on in pointing out both the good (articulation) and ungood (23 bux!!). Still, I am fiddling around about purchasing this Riddler!
The Arkham City Joker is actually somehow more accurate to Arkham Asylum. Mainly in the gloves, Joker never wore purple gloves in Arkham Asylum or City. I also have both and I really like 'em. Means you can recreate the Riddler Trophy model of them back to back. Still. It's...a figure. I keep getting tempted to buy him, but I want to get some yellow and purple paint (as well as some nerve) to make him better. It really does feel half finished. At the very least Todd coulda toned the green down, he's a more washed-out green in City. At least it isn't the Arkham Knight design, *no one* likes that one!
A great thing ive been noticinig is the inclusio n of a Standard Batman comparision using the two most popular ones, it really helps a lot (specially since i have the Rebirth one)
great review as always! I keep telling myself I don't need to dive into the rogues rabbit hole, and each batman villain we get makes it harder and harder lol With the price increase I am more inclined to give McFarlane a pass seeing as the majority of figures are new sculpts, to me it just feels more worthwhile for an original sculpt than a repaint of a basic body That said, I 100% think Riddler here needed something else, if not a trophy then some fisted hands maybe The reason I am fine with the $22 on a good bit of the mcfarlane releases so far is the accessories, blue hush has alternate hands and two weapons, knightfall catwoman has alternate hands and whip, etc.
This Riddler is kinda terrible, but with the 50 different Joker body's there's a good custom combo with that head sculpt....the 3 jokers "Criminal" body looks like it's a winner
If he had been closer to his classic design or inspired by it and the Animated Series, I would pick him up. The rolled up sleeves, Friday at quitting’ time collar and tie, and pants tucked into the boots is just too much of a turn off. It’s annoying because I want him for my Rogues Gallery, but just not like this…not like this😝
In the hush comic, riddler was NOT hush, that was an awful change they made for the animated film, the hush comic has a completely different character as hush.
