It is with sadness to say that this will be the last in the 71 New Yorker series for this car on this channel. I love this Mopar. It has really grown on me. I wish I had the time to restore more of it including the interior. But the new owner is ecstatic on receiving this car and making this car his. It is going to a great home where it will always be garaged, but still used as a daily driver that won't be in road salt. So join me on my final drive with this car and some new camera angels I have been experimenting with. Thanks for watching!

Hello Everyone, I am the new owner of this awesome ride. Yes, really I am the one he was talking about in the video that took it off the SwedeMachines' hands, and where he left off I have been giving it a ton more TLC and a good home. Slow but sure I will have her back to pretty much her former glory. I am now about to order and toss on my (440 Big Block) 7.2 Liter Engine a FRBR-67320 750 CFM Holly Brawler Carburetor with Mechanical Secondaries Double Pump Duel Feed to give her the little extra boost she needs and somewhere down the line a new very mild cam to pick her up to around 400 HP or so. Nothing too drastic with of course a set of roller rockers tossed on as well but that will most likely be the very last thing done to her as honestly, she runs like a champ just the way she is BUT she will run even better with a little bigger cam ROFLMAO. Hopefully, the new top will be put on in June along with new factory carpeting tossed in. Oh and if any of you wondered if there are cracks in the dash pad well thank GOD there are none at all and man I thank my lucky stars for that every day rofl. I also managed to find and purchase an entirely like new factory dash cluster (speedo and gauges, clear cover lens, trip, and so forth) for parts should I need any and that means soon the non-working factory gas gauge will be replaced with the one that works taken from the new cluster. A friend of mine is going to rebuild the radio and I will rebuild the power antenna. If I can't then well new power antenna time rofl. A new front windshield will be put in as soon as it gets warm out (end of May or early June) as the old one had a crack in it plus on my 2,000-mile one-way road trip driving it back home from the Swedes I took a star burst in the outer layer of glass passenger side from a small (thank GOD small) stone thrown at me from a semi changing lanes. Well just wanted all the cool fans of the SweedMachine who also loved this car and might be curious about what happened to it and could dig a little update about it. If some of you like I will stop by here from time to time and post more as it gets done. Can't wait till spring because every week from then on until cold winter sets back in every Thursday 4pm till 9pm the old girl (gonna name her June Bug) cause she is one crazy cool ride and getting even crazier cool all the time LOL. OH, And I almost forgot to mention the new top will not be replaced with the original brown. The new top color will be the exact color of the interior and trust me it will look 10 times classier. Believe me, I ought to know as I grew up with these rides lol. In 1970 I got my driver's permit and in 1971 I got my license rofl. The 71 New Yorker was my favorite year for them. It was also the last year no pollution controls and no reduction in horsepower which started all happening thanks to the EPA trash from 1972 on up. By the time the 1978 New Yorkers were made the 440ci was reduced to only 190HP. They stopped making the 440 big block and went to the smaller 400ci engine to take its place then even that got nailed. Sad indeed. Great motor slowly strangled to death and then kicked to the curb.

That was still a good year for Chrysler. Smooth ride, roomy, A/C was excellent. Right for a long haul like from Chicago to Denver.

There were my two parents and 5 of us kids back in the 70’s, early 80’s. You think my dad would get bigger cars for us all? Nope, always the cheapest he could afford. 3 Ford Pintos, so two of us kids had to sit way back in the hatch. To have had bigger cars would have been nice. This Chrysler NY’r would have been awesome! Beautiful

She's a beaut, Clark! 😎👍 I've always wanted a Newport, myself. A 1977 or 78. The true last of the land yachts because 1979 was the big DOWNsize year. I hope the new owner enjoys!! Thanks for sharing!

As a 20 year old college student back in 1982 I had my grandfather's hand me down 1971 Chrysler New Yorker to drive. It was huge, but a great car and I thoroughly enjoyed driving it. One night I was in a head on collision with a drunk driver. The car was totaled but I wasn't, due to the size and quality of the car along with the fact that I was wearing both the lap and shoulder belts. I walked away with minor cuts, scrapes and bruises from the belts. Without the belts, my outcome would probably have been pretty grim. It's good to see you buckled up on your final drive of the car. Hopefully the new owner will do the same.

ahh I'm gonna miss this boat. I guess you will also. my dream is to have something like this also, "a new owner who would appreciate it even more"... dragging it out from its death and putting it back on the road is the most appreciation a car could ever have

Nice camera angle rotations, very decent scenery, interesting chat along the way. A magic carpet ride on cloud 9!

That New Yorker may have come from the factory with the optional factory trailer towing package that could have been ordered with a 3.73 differential ratio. My first tow vehicle for my travel trailer was a 1965 Dodge with a 383 cubic inch V8 and the 3.73 differential. Today, there are many Vintage travel trailer owners who like to own similar era tow vehicles. Today, I own a Vintage Buick to tow my Vintage Airstream.

We had the 71 Newport blue with black vinyl black int, great car, it had bucket seats, which was odd for a car that big.

Nice work. Your videos as a real pleasure to watch, and of course, I'm a fan of the big fuselage era Chryslers. My family had 2 of them ('69 and '73) and a '76, all Newports. The '69 and '73 literally could not be killed, the '76 had some issues. All 3 had the 400, but the '76 was a gutbox with the early catalytic converter and somewhat glitchy electronic ignition. The '69 flew. It was also by far the best looking, just like this model. '73 and '76 were kinda ugly, in my mind, but roomy and nice drivers

A huge ass boat of a luxury car is the epitome of americana to me. An american car better be unashamedly large, comfy as a couch and inapproriately effortless to drive. Also cloth seats 100% over leather or vinyl. Warm in the winter andnot sticky and sweaty in the summer. Plush is the best!

Didn’t know until recently having high fuel vapor pressure issues in the tank of my 1969 Chrysler 300 that it can affect the accuracy of the fuel gauge . Reading 1/2 tank at full sometimes . Like you had mentioned . Vapor pressure issues fixed and no further gauge fluctuations. Also fixed a fuel starvation issue .
