Ride and full review of the Moto Guzzi V85 TT
Moto Guzzi's Adventure bike, the V85TT, is such a compact bike making it an extremely practical every day commuter as well as a weekend get-away adventure bike. This is an Italian sculpture, oozing loads of charm and flair, handmade and produced in low quantities. Moto Guzzi has stayed true to their design in using their traditional transverse V layout motor as well as shaft drive. This makes this the only under 1000cc adventure bike using a shaft drive.

Pedigree. heritage, unique, NOT a me,too bike. You won't see 10 of them parked on every block. In fact I've never seen one in the wild. This man absolutely "gets it". As for the power....it is adequate. You won't break any speed records but it is fine for everyday use, easy to ride, not intimidating and very forgiving.

Great honest review about the simple engineering of a quality bike; these are the reasons being 69 and retired and not ridden in 35 years ; I purchased the 2021 V7 850 Special and the V 85TT Centenario

Excellent review, and i agree with all points. Having ridden mine for +13,000kms in the last year , it is an excellent commuter and bike for niping around town. One two or three panniers on and you can carry/pick up most of what you need for errands. Good for spirited riding, great usefull torque, and comfortable for several hours. Loves the twisties. Air/oil cooled engine that is mechanically sound, and has given me no grief. Simple valve adjustments in your driveway every 10k, and oil then changes. It all works great. 🇨🇦

The dealer here in Kelowna closed during covid, so the nearest dealer is either Vancouver or Calgary. That is the only reason this is not on my “next bike” list. 🇨🇦

I brought a V85tt and love it , I live in Australia and your so right about the timeless look and great build quality. Iv own a few Italian bikes ,Ducati Scrambler 800 , Benelli 1130 Trek - also a timeless looking bike ( when they made them in Italy) probably the best handling bike I have ever owned . And a SWM 650 Superduel and Aprilla 650 Pasago - used the Yamaha XT660 engine. But I love the Fuel range , shaft drive , cruise control , turning circle, comfort, great 👍 bike

Did you find yourself missing the power of the Ducati when riding the V85?
@evankapel4125
@evankapel4125 2 года назад
This is a 2020 or earlier. Starting in 2021, the O2 sensors were positioned just outside the exhaust valves and the wheels are tubeless.

I am planning to buy one. Do you have any more details regarding how to differentiate a 2022 from 2019 V85TT? Cz all the bikes look same.
@evankapel4125
@evankapel4125 2 года назад
@@glitchfyre5188 Other than the O2 sensors on the top of the headers and tubeless wheels, the 2021/2022 models have the headers welded to the catalyst section of the exhaust so it is all one piece. On the 2019, the headers are clamped to the cat section.

Hi very informative review ,as I have a Multistrada 1000 and enjoy travelling with I wonder "" will be Guzzi better for travelling ?". For sure Multistrada is a little bit more powerful, less comfortable, more expensive to maintain .The question is ""can the Guzzi be so enjoyable as the Multi ? Thanks
@route21garage
@route21garage 2 года назад
Very different bikes. I think the Multi is a bit more sport orientated where the Guzzi is more relaxed Italian stylish bike, super comfortable and nimble. Only criticism I would have is the power should you want to run at speeds and longer distances. Torque and power under 180km/h is perfect 👍🏻

Is this the 2022 model ? How did you feel the gearing? I own a cb500x at the moment and was looking at this as a possible upgrade
@route21garage
@route21garage 2 года назад
This is a 2021 produced bike (same as the 2022 in specs , but not sure about color options) however it always takes time to get them here into South Africa. Totally spectacular bike, smoother than the outgoing RSV4, gearchanges are smoother too with quickshifter, all round super refined. Gears are perfect 👌 Due to great torque curve the longer gearing works well. You could see in the video I could hold a gear very long or shortshift up. I can definitely recommend taking one for a test ride 💪

I am worried about not adjustable, short stroke suspension, fixed by a single screw.

Hi, nice review👍 will you recommend this amazing bike to a total 50 years old beginner as a first bike!? Hello from Serbia ✌️
@route21garage
@route21garage 2 года назад
Hi there, yes I would definetely recommend this bike to a beginner. Reasons would be, upright seated position, wide handlebars, these 2 give good control. Then the twin motor has high torque which makes pull off very easy and minimal gearchanges while riding. Bike is nimble and feels light once rolling. All round a stunning bike for commuting, some sand roads, some touring, very very competent bike 👍🏻💪

@route21garage
@route21garage Год назад
Thank you 🙏. I love this bike as it is an all rounder, meaning good as a commuter, good in traffic, good as a quick hop on to the shops and a very good long distance tourer 👍🏻 so yes 👌 Seating position is comfortable, seat is soft enough, handlebars are wide enough and most of all, motor nice and torquey and efficient giving good range with a shaft drive so no need for chain lubing should you ride on gravel or in the wet.

It amazes me how on these videos people talk about everything but engine heat. I have been riding for over 40 years and some praised very high bikes will bake you alive on a warm day. I don’t know how good that bike could be, obviously not good for me. I was curious to know if this bike is rideable during summer.
@edoardocesana5749
@edoardocesana5749 Год назад
It is. I own it since 2 years, and the heat is very low. If you remove the cat, you are totally fine even in the summer.

I ride mine in the Philippines and it gets hot here, the Guzzi can get warm in stop and go traffic, and the valves will chatter a bit when it's hot in low revs. Once it gets moving it smooths right out and cools down.
