This has been one of the best videos,of yours, that I’ve watched for sure. I smiled through the entire video. Those who’ve had a soulmate, would understand. Really made me miss my wife though,RIP
Awesome gift for c-man. That is very generous of you Meg. I really like c-mans bike looks awesome. BTW Meg you looked so beautiful on c-mans bike with you high heels and skirt 😍
Thank you! It wasn’t really a gift from me, Saddlemen worked with us and the extra was covered by a company that Mike and I own together. All of the RU-vid proceeds go into our account for that company to pay for our trips and bike needs.
Meg, this has been one of my favs of your posts! Seeing Michael's giddy expressions were priceless! I put the same seat (w/o the green stitching) on my 2019 HD Street Bob FXBB. It is a HUGE improvement over the stock solo seat. Ride on (in comfort)...
Never owned a Saddlemen seat, but lots of people ride and love them. The stitching is on point (green is my favorite color anyways) and the shape really compliments her lines. The grin on your face says it all for the comfort and function of the seat. Great choice!
Pretty nice seat for Cameraman's ride! He looks very pleased with his new seat! Time for a long putt to test it out....... Thank you both for the video & install tutorial, real time is always fun!
Yeah that new saddleman seat looks really comfy and cameraman should be happy now. Well done doing the seat in the carpark with the Swiss army knife. Cameraman took off like a rocket 🚀 lol. Luv the lawyer look 😍🔥🤘
I knew there was other 😳subliminal reason I liked your channel. I retired from the Navy as a GMC back in 2007. You guys look like your having fun. Aloha
Now thats funny..you and cameraman are old.... I have been riding from age 15 and i will be 69 this sunday 27th. You two are spring chickens..but i love your videos..need to get mine back up and on the road..but i think it would cost as much to restore my 1974 electra glide..as it would to buy a used 1979 FXE. But from watching you two makes me want to get my knees in the breeze again.
Man that was awesome to see how pumped you were to put that on and ride it! I have the same seat and tell EVERYONE it's the best... hands down! changes the whole look of you bike, the way your ride, it's just a BA seat! And as always... great camera work!
After this video, I'm looking into this for my Springfield Dark Horse. It looks like it has that lower back support I want, without putting one of those ugly backrests on my seat. Thanks for testing out the passenger part, too! My wife appreciates that you gave a review for passengers, too.
I have two Saddlemen seats for my bike, a step up that's on the bike when I am around town (because it looks better) and a Road Sofa with a back rest for long hauls. Both great seats. I like the stitching on his mine is plain black with lattice stitch. Enjoy them..
I've got a La Pera on my Sportster and its great so far. In time when I upgrade to a Softail, Saddlemen definitely is an option. I've heard so much good stuff about them. Glad that Cameraman is enjoying his new saddle. It makes the bike feel like brand new again.
Meg great content as usual. Tell CameraMan if he wants a "full recline" foot peg to look up the Kuryakyn Swing Wing foot pegs. I have them and you can mount them at any angle and they have 2 positions one open and one closed. In the open position you can put your boots parallel with the road lanes, or 45 degrees with the road lanes, or like I like on the interstate in full cruise control mode I put my boots on top of the wings on the ends and almost lay my boots on their sides at full recline and I am relaxed. The great thing about them is they offer SOOOOO many boot/foot placements because they are so big so after long rides when your legs get tired from a riding position you can easily change your boot position mid ride. Check'em out. I mounted mine at about a little more than a 45 degree angle for maximum reach and stretch but whatever he wants he should be able to mount at that angle.
11:08 "I love that tuck and roll" Debbie to Toad in American Graffiti, Toad" You do well come in and you can feel it,,, I mean you can touch it if you want,, I'll let you feel the upholstery."
Looks great! Looks of old school looks cool! Pipes sissy bar & now the seat, it all adds up to the cool looks of old school. Meg your bike is not far from it, but still looks cool. I guess you’re bike is next. Both of you still RUNNING COOL! Look Cool, Are Cool. Keep RUNNING COOL! Old school looking is Cool. Keep up the good work, Meg you always sound so cool commentating your videos, I’ll keep following the JOURNEY, Meg’s Motorcycle Journey. Ride Safe all of you.
Meg, great camera work during the seat install. I'm glad to see that the seat appears to improve cameraman's ride experience. Time will tell. Ride safe.
Nice to know cameraman is a Navy vet, aviation even! I was an AT2, aviation electronics technician working on F/A-18F jets. Hope the new seat works out!
Very nice seat. Yep I know how it feels to get old especially after getting out of the military. Body is all banged up. I did get a sundowner from H-D and really love it. Wish I could have afforded a Saddlemen seat. I really love their seats a lot.
Skyline drive and Blue Ridge Parkway are nice too. Very scenic. And most people call that tool a leatherman. It needs green pegs and clutch and brake levers.
Old video.. but u know.. its still relevant. Just got a 24 Green breakout.. am going to order the same exact seat, and colors.. like u say, annoying the way we slide back in the seat on heavy throttle..more narrow in the front works too. Thanks for the fun, real video's.
The Tail of the Dragon is wonderful, but I did enjoy every stretch of blacktop in the area. Great seat , both the Saddleman and the hallway seat. Just being honest, ride loud and proud you two ☮️🕉️
The wheels through time museum is awesome. Your brain will get motorcycle overload there is so much to see. Sometimes they start a few bike up in the museum. Very cool to watch. While you are riding the dragon it is etiquette to pull/mover over if you are holding others up. I was down there last month and there were tons of cars on it too. Be safe and have fun.
Hi Megan and cameraman.that was a good review .I like the green stitches. I think green valve stem caps would look good .just a touch of class.just a thought.or green license plate bolts skulls etc.or none of that haaa!! I don't have a seat with a back that holds you in place.thats a good idea makes sense.you guys had fun good to see that !!! GOOD video .Rich.
Meg I did the Tail of the Dragon its not bad if you don't go too fast but you do have to watch out for other people that cross the center line and they can come out of nowhere since almost every curve is a blind turn so keep an eye out and ride safe. Also more people ride on the weekend so a mid week ride on the Dragon is better with less traffic.
Looks great and they do feel good at first but I've got a similar step up seat from Lucky Dave's which are made by saddlemen and after 100 miles it might as well be a brick! But definitely give more control for the twisties!
I got this seat too it’s super sleek and looks good! I use it when I ride solo makes the bike look more sleek and nice! I use the road sofa when I ride with a passenger! But it’s to bulky when it’s just myself so I switch back and forth depending if I have a passenger! Really nice though they both are good! But step up is more clean for riding solo!
You guys will love the roads in TN and NC. My son and I road the Dragon a few weeks ago. It was ok but the Cherahola Skyway is a lot more fun to me. But you can’t go wrong in the Smokys. We go up there all the time. Enjoy the trip and stay safe. Dave G.
Maybe that "DON'T TREAD ON ME" on his fender can be redone in green. His footpegs. His grips. All in green. As long as everything is in the same shade of green. Also, tell Cameraman that I appreciate his service. The Sharon Stone impression was nice. But what was really nice was those stiletto heels at the end of those legs walking down the hall! Very professional! Very nice!
I bet Cameraman wears his new shoes out of the store too... LOL Enjoy The Dragon, it's pretty awesome, you will either be going up a hill, down a hill, or around a curve. Sometimes all at once. The Dragon is pretty slow 25MPH (very technical) if I remember correctly & they enforce that. The other roads out there (Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner 28 & Blue Ridge Pkwy) have some great sweepers & beautiful views. PS that Skirt/shoes combo looked AMAZING.
Cool seat! I agree with C-Man... I usually don't like any contrast colors but that seat looks COOL! Yep,, maybe some green pin striping ,, it will "pop" on that black! Ever thought about green "shadow lights"?
Looks to me like Saddlman makes the best seats with a solid pan .. and the Gel, but Saddlman does not make a seat for my FZ-07 which has two seats.. and is very hard.. I have an Air Hawk Air cushion .. which soaks up rain .. I have to put a plastic bag over it if I park ouside.. Corbin makes 1 seat that will replace both of the FZ-07 seat with one solid seat.. They offer many different leathers and Vinyle too .. They sell seat covers so you can keep your Leather seat covers dry .. Saddlman does make a seat for the MT-09
abh my friend was a abhcs i was asking i was a boiler tech and retired with 20.5 years meg just watching him install the seat and heard his reply thanks
The drivers seat is much thinner(side to side) so you have more control...its more like a sportbike seat and doesnt hug you like a couch....I added a saddlemen to my Roadglide and it improved handling SO MUCH!! I want to add one to my Breakout also at some point.
I have to say this is very interesting style of your bike... i really like it! Before my softail slim I had dyna with the same seat and I didnt like it. The seat is stiff and seating position is high also brings you more forward. You can upgrade that when you open the seat and punch couple of holes into the foam -les material will soften the seat and brings you lover also.
i am a huge fan of backrests, as they allow you to control the bike with your body (hips and waist) in curves and turns. (becoming "one with the bike", not just riding it). this saddleman might make him feel "locked in" for more aggressive riding. a lot of stunt guys use saddlemen seats. i absolutely love that low profile helmet of his. he rides hard, and you can tell he is an experienced rider............. but meg is certainly keeping up just fine. she has come a LONG LONG way in a very short period of time as a biker
Aww thank you! We were just saying today that I couldn’t have handled this trip last year but we did the Tail of the Dragon- twice! And I did fine. He is really really happy with how much better his back feels because of the seat position and back support. I’m happy he loves it. Thank you for watching and your continued support!
I am from Charlotte NC, Use to have a house in the mountains in Spuce Pine NC. I figure you all ready have your trip planned out but we use to just get on the Blueridge Parkway and ride. The Parkway is safer than most roads in the mountains because the speedlimit in 45 and their are no commercial trucks allowed. You can travel from one camp ground to another and stay in the centrally located camp ground and take day trips out from you base camp. Ask the locals what is interesting to see along the Parkway, they know best. There are lots of tourist traps and the locals can suggest alternatives. June is the best month for flowers and they change by elevation. I miss those mountains!!!
Some friends and I are going to Thunder In the Smokies, Wheels Through Time and the Dragon this weekend. Don't know exactly when you guys will be there but maybe we will bump into each other somewhere along the way. Have a safe trip guys.
That seat and green look badass🤘. Totally changes the look of the bike. I love my step up seat. When are yall planning your TOTD trip? I plan on dping the same trip this year. It would be cool to run into yall and put some miles down. 🤘
Be a Army Vet. My Army buddies and I would take blue, any other color over GREEN.. We had green uniforms back in the 70's I bought a watch at the P.X. Only to colors on the watch face blue or green ! BLUE for me...💙 Navy guys had blue work uniform. My Navy buddy had blue jean material pants blue shirt too, I think.
meg when you get to north carolina you absolutely have to ride the Cherahola skyway also. it’s a better ride than the dragon Imo. i’ll keep an eye out for y’all down here when y’all come. we are up there at least a few weekends a month ( only 4 hour ride from my home i’m atlanta)
I own a 2012 Yamaha Raider S 1854cc/113ci cruiser. LOVE IT! But if I bought a Harley it would be a Breakout, RoadKing, or Heritage. I like the ability to take the bags off when not going on long multiday rides. And I would pop the windshield off and keep it off if it had one. Just my style.
@@megsmotorcyclejourney Saddlemens are good seats. Glad he likes it and glad you got a laugh from my comment. Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down.!👍
Meg your aways talking about riding do it right. When I was 19 my parents, myself and dad's friend. Two dressers and a 450 Honda rode from winter haven fla to Brookville MI its like 1500 - 1600 miles one way and back
FYI cameraman same type hardware holds on my seet. Kept losing plastic washers dropping convection bracket under fender. So I put plastic washers on then thin nits on now can take thumb nite off pull seat. Don't have 2 reach under fender never drop any thing. a
The Step Up being a more aggressive styled seat is really a day seat at best. We do have much more comfortable two up options- checkout saddlemen.com and let us know what you like. Thanks!
🤚🏼I got ya green vans grips green powder coated pegs front and back with the black brackets green powder coat on the tip of the air intake with the green stencil of don’t tread on me🤙🏻and could also get a green pen stripe around the outter part of the rim or even tire stickers in green on the actual tire in green 🤙🏻🤙🏻
@@megsmotorcyclejourney Those you care the most about in life. It was a complement. Sorry to confuse you. You are a fine woman ! I hope Michael realizes how lucky he is 🙂 His daughter was sweet also. A Daddy's Girl ! Good on him . 👍 🏍 zoom, zoom !!!
@@jakecrib9971 aww thank you! Mike and I have been close since childhood and we own multiple businesses together. I always want good things for him- plus I know how much his bike means to him. 🙂 We appreciate you watching!!
@@megsmotorcyclejourney Meg, I'm not just sucking up to you when I say, You Are A Wondeful Woman ! Thank you so much for your kind response and for not telling me to mind my own business and go to hell !!! 😆 I am a Jim , but You Dear, are a Gem💎 !
LMFAO...... I love it he jumped on that new seat and was gone.... he reminds me of a little boy that got a brand new pair of tennis shoes soon as he puts them on and takes off running lol
@@megsmotorcyclejourney I tried to email u picks of my bike but it was a nogo idk ..love that seat Michael looks good , maybe just do hand grips and pegs
Honestly I think the fewer green accents the better. Maybe pug wires and the seat stitching would be it. Have you ever seen a teenagers car with all the interior trim pieces painted green, red, or blue? It looks gaudy.
It’s amazing how something as simple as a new seat can make your bike feel completely new. Now some green bar ends, pegs, and brake calipers will pull it all together. 🍏 Are y’all riding to TN or trailering?
