The 4th Annual Chip Hale Center benefit ride didn't disappoint! Offering cycling ride distances of 62-miles (metric century), 36-miles and 21-miles there is something for everyone. Feeling a tad under the weather I had considered tackling the 21-mile route but after committing to the 36-miler I called an audible to combine part of an older 21-mile route with that of the 36-mile route. This ended up being about 30-miles in length. The truth be known............., I COULDN'T STAND THE THOUGHT OF OTHERS COMPLETING THE COURSE(S) EARLY AND POSSIBLY GOBBLING UP ALL THE FANTASTIC PORK SANDWICH PLATES!*
The $25 entry fee is graciously rewarded with not only good food, an event tee shirt and the friendship of event organizers and fellow riders, but the proceeds benefit the Chip Hale Center, a United Way Agency by providing support to adults with developmental disabilities; certainly a win-win for all.

I like the way you ride. no big hurry, taking you time to enjoy the beauty of the country side. I hope i find a group or couple people that would enjoy riding like you.

Your older ride like hale videos is what encouraged me to get back on my bike and start riding again! Completed the 36 this year for first time and shooting for 62 next year.thanks for making the videos

Thanks, 'time' for your warm comment. On one hand I feel a bit sad that I can't hang with the DF riders and share more of their cycling adventure but on the other, good that I can capture the moment WITHOUT DISRUPTING MY ENJOYMENT OF THE RIDE. I have felt odd perhaps titling the video the same as the event because I can only show my perspective and it leaves out so much of the 'group involvement'. But that's the beauty of the ride itself..................., YOU GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN! Each rider has a personal goal and this event allows that goal to be sought. And because the community has knowledge of the cycling activity, there seems to be an additional understanding for the roadways to be shared. Let us not forget as well the benefit to the Chip Hale Center.

Well said! The beauty of the ride it's self is just that ...it's in the ride No matter the distance or the time, there is something about each pedalstroke and friends you meet out on the open roads cycling just as you and I. Only those who have been out riding really understand what we're saying...God bless and hope to see you next year

I have watched a lot of your videos. Subscribed to you a while ago, but danged if I could ever figure out what type of trike you are riding! What type is it? Thanks, Stuart

Stuart, it's a 2011 ActionBent which is currently being sold as Performer. It's a steel frame but Aluminum is available. Checkout the credits at the end of the videos for trike ID info. Thanks for watching.

Those df'ers think you got it so easy they got it a lot easier than you. yes you are comfortable but you stuggle harder than they do on hills. They can stand up and pedal you cant and they are also much younger than you are . But you ride for just that the ride they ride just to get done so they can get off the atomic weggie I love your vids if only more people would slow down and smell the flowers life would be more sweeter. and for that reason I don't get in any hurry while on my bike anymore.
