Hahahah literally, i had no idea what this movie was about and i was watching it before i saw the trailer, and everything was so happy and i was like wait this is TOO happy and im only 30 minutes in so i just KNEW something sad was bout to go down 😂🥺
THIS MOVIE IS ACTUALLY SO NICE :)) I especially love how the directors use the song all over and over the movie and they finally use it to crush you in the end :”)) Yup. Still love it tho
"Oh they seem happy and in love...."I'll always be there for you" he says...betcha one of them dies." *sees ambulance 5 seconds later* "CALLED IT." (and why does the art style remind me of Devilman Crybaby)
I friggin' love this movie so much i just cant believe the scene where she tried to sing the song but her boyfriend didint appear in the water anymore 😭
The part where I bawled my eyes out is in the last scene where she finally bursted in tears hearing Minato's wishes from the broadcast tower. That really got me 😭
This looks so charming and dramatic and unusual! I've heard so much about this director! These movies would get noticed more if they weren't such limited showings, though! one night only!? Seriously?!
Sadly, this is movie lacked the depth Yuasa can do. Maybe it was because he only directed the movie and did not do the series composition. Somehow it all was great looking, but empty. It felt weird. The characters felt like blank sheets compared to what he can do when he puts himself into it.
Weathering with you was going to be 1 night only too but it's been playing everyday for the last 2 weeks. If it does good they order it for a longer time I guess 🤷♂️
This is actually a really great film. Even though it gets a bit sad at a point, it's not angst. It more of a sweet, lighthearted 'get back on your feet' kind. :)
The facts that the death of a main character becomes the plot twist is a bit too common. There could be many other plot twists other than death. I’m not complaining about it but still there are more things that can be put as plot twists that are also as equally realistic other that the death of a loved character.
Just finished the movie today. Cried so much throughout the whole movie😭 my heart breaks every time I see minato and listen to the song. I love the movie so much. How to over this sadness😭😭 I will never look at the sea the same wave again 7/25/21
It's been a year and here I am rewatching this movie for the second time. I didn't expect my heart to ache but I couldn't stop catching tears roll down my face. It hurts my heart to see how the two are so in love and now they are "separated" by life and death. As someone who have not experience grief yet, this really showed me the pain of losing a loved one. I'm afraid for that day to happened but separating is all part of life as bitter and cruel as it is. I'm about to go to the beach in 3 days. My heart will continue to ache whenever I look at the waves. I hope I will find my "Minato" one day. Someone who is always be by your side and loves you dearly. This movie will definitely make you shed tears. Don't forget to bring some tissues. (7/15/22)
@@glassheart4121 aww🥺 it's indeed a sad movie, me too whenever I watch clips of this movie I feel very emotional But i hope you will get your ''Minato'' soon and live a happy life together forever
Jamie and I saw this trailer at Cineplex while watching “Weathering With You”. Sure is related to “Ghost” with Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.
Ah, the classic that " you thought he was the main character, but what's this!- HE DIES!!" *pikachu shock face* (Well holy shit, 2 weeks later then i come back now i have 665 likes, thank you so much guys!!)
Spectacular movie, seriously. I can't explain how great this movie was. The visuals, sounds, the pacing, all of it. Please watch this movie, it needs more love!
This just reminds me of spirited away, where I was crying because I wanted chihiro to stay with haku. And my dad passes by so I explain my tears and he's all: "so.... You want her to... Marry the ..river?" SOBS UNCONTROLLABLY, YYYYYAAAAAASSSSSS
I just love it, it's sad but also really heartwarming, it makes you smile, also makes you cry your eyes out The story is just so dreamy, it makes you think even if things don't go your way at the end you're going to be alright
I watched this movie in Japan in October and even my boyfriend was crying like a baby XDD then for two weeks he was singing this song , it’s a nice song but have mercy lol
I'm a fan of Generations so I listened to the song before watching the film. I don't usually cry for films (I didn't cry when watching Titanic or Passion of Christ) but I teared up for this. Especially at the end
*If you haven't seen this then what are you doing?* Watch it! I absolutely recommend it. This movie is one of those movies that will hit you in the feels with a meaningful lesson. It didn't make me flood the house luckily but it sure did give me the teary eyes of happiness yet sadness as well.
Plot twist: After Minato drowned those ghostly appearance of his after that sad event is just on her mind , a hallucination. Also the cute water dolphin is also part of that hallucination of hers.
It's not a hallucination. His sister and his kouhai also saw him so does that mean they're all having hallucinations of Minato? When he magically covered the whole building with water, all of those firemen who saw it, they were having hallucinations?????? His spirit was literally present because he had unfinished business with Hinako.
Me: Oh cool, this seems like such a nice movie where everyone lives happily ever...... *ambulance, realizes boy dies* Me: Shiiiiiiiiiit. Me go cry now.... ;_____;
THERE YOU AREEE IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR U SINCE LAST YEARRR. i was in japan while walking in the train terminal thing and saw that ad last year and i fell in love at first sight but we had to go because we’re in a hurry so i wasn’t able to see the title clearly and now i found u a year later which is now 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
This is a unique and interesting story actually, but it's very, very sad. I freaking cried for an hour after the ending, knowing that the only place the girl will see him is in heaven and at the end she was shouted out while she was alone with her friends leaving her. It's been four months and i want to die thinking of it
I came here thinking this was going to be a sweet wholesome happy ending anime where I could watch the amazing animation and not feel heartbroken in the end... But I'm already feeling it and it's just the trailer
I'm currently overwhelmed and shocked right now. couple days ago i listened to a random new song (at least for me) on my spotify playlist. the song was good, and somehow captivates me. few days later, i saw a shorts on youtube of the scene where the FL drops her phone into the river. after reading the comments and found out the title i watched the trailer. turns out it's the same song as the one in my playlist (Brand New Story) idc if if's the algorithm thing or whatever i'll take this as a sign from the universe for me to watch this movie and cry my eyes out
Saw this in Seoul tried so hard not to cry in the theaters. Loved it so much. Best film at the biaf festival. Absolutely love the song of this film. You should check out the music video for it which is so funny and they animated the band the same way the did with the film.
I watched this movie and knew I was going to cry but still watched it anyway. It really had me bawling at the end, because you never know when a special someone in your life will just disappear without warning. You may think you'll be there for each other forever and ever, but sometimes life can be cruel. As someone who lost someone very special to me on a holiday almost one year ago from the time I'm typing this, this was incredibly hard to watch.. But I'm glad I did. 🤟😭🤟
This movie doesn't made me cry but i swear my heart was paining badly after watching this movie as if it is broken i neither have any medical problem nor any break up or such kind of thing but then also i felt like crying but not a single tear came out I kept myself in place of that girl and it is been a week watching this movie and I still could not got relief from that pain and i neither want to get any I love this movie a lot and................................... Hats off to this movie and solute to the makers Love u.
@@user-rr7du4ds2x Well it's been almost a year since I watched it, so I don't remember specific instances. I'd have to watch it again to give you a more direct answer. It's sort of like an Anohana situation, where he's not actually there, but the MC is attributing natural occurrences to him. If it's not a natural occurrence, it is in her head. People may lie about seeing him, but if they really do, they also have a cognitive longing for him.
1st time seeing this: “This looks pretty interesting” 2nd time seeing this: “Wait... this is the guy who did Devilman Crybaby...” Idk. Just found that cool
Me in first seconda: *"Seem's kinda cool, maybe I should watch this uwu"* Trailer: **already spoils the plot about main character's death** Me: *"Well, NANI?!"*
Great movie but also emotional AF. I disagree with the comments saying "it wasn't that sad" or "It's also uplifting & positive". Trust me, it's sad 🥲 Also you aren't really left with a sense of closure for the main girl. Kinda left me with the feeling that she'll never be the same & will always be missing a part of herself.
