Ridge Racer is an arcade 1993 racing video game developed and published by Namco for System 22 arcade system board. It is the first title in the Ridge Racer series released for arcades. Upon the release Ridge Racer was called by Namco "the most realistic driving game ever".The game featured three-dimensional polygon graphics with texture mapping and various types of terrain. Namco advertised it as being the first coin-operated video game with texture mapping.
