The recent use of my tractor and metal equipment requires me to get some additional tools. After a recent problem with a hydraulic steering line, i purchased a Ridgid cordless grinder.
I think the fact that they have a lifetime warranty on batteries is a game changer for most people. I have 21 of their tools, and 61 total amp hours worth of battery life, and the fact that everything has a lifetime warranty now, makes me feel secure and only having to buy a tool once.
No offense or nothing. I bought ALL ridgid tools. I have 12 ridgid power tools 11 of witch are 18v. For one if you are working with metal stay the hell away! I had a ridgid drill for several years and thought I’d stick with it because I already a few of the batteries. I got a job as a semi trailer mechanic in march of this year. I had to buy all my own tools so I bought ridgid. Well today my grinder started sounding like a few of the bearings are toast. I got it mid march. I look at ridgids warranty policy and it’s a complete joke. I recommend you do the same before throwing more money out the window. I bought 4 drills total they are all getting ready to let out the smoke. I hear bearing noise in all of them. Last week my 1/2” sub impact started making a whinny sound. My big Impact has lost a ton of power and is pretty much useless at this point. I have 2 different impact drivers. I bought another one after the first started loosing power after a month. The leds on my second one never did work. I can live with that though because I actually really like the power on it. My 3/8” sub impact is working good, but I’ve had that a home mostly. I have a few other tools that are good at collecting dust. Don’t use them much. Yeah I won’t be buying anymore ridgid. And no I have never tried anything stupid that would heart or jeopardize my tools. I actually take really good care of them.
They messed up by not having a spot to implant the wrench , that would've been awesome. My ridgid 7 1/4" circular saw has a spot on the tool for the allen key and it comes in clutch when I remember to put it back right away lol changed my blade on a high pitch roof and lost it for 2 hours in the bushes lol
such a shame ryobi stopped selling the green version of this grinder, now all they have is the 9000 rpm model with the paddle switch that struggles to cut rebar. luckily i found the old version brand new on ebay.
I just bought one of these to sharpen my hedge trimmers that are mistake the battery does not last for shit I sharpened about eight teeth which is about 40% of the whole trimmer and the battery died already so now I have to buy three extra batteries just so I could Sharpen one trimmer ridiculous
Which battery did you use? I have only used my older 9 ah battery so far.... I know everyone I know with the Milwaukee chainsaw immediately uses the 12 ah battery....
@@HermanWoodworks actually I was looking into that and it came with the 2.0 AH which I guess is the smallest battery but I don’t even know why they even bother because it literally lasted three minutes so I purchased the 6.0
@Rob Solo wow....yeah I don't even have one of the 2ah batteries...the smallest one I have is a 4 ah.... the amount of draw the chainsaws pull there is no point using a 2. Let me know what you think once you have used a different battery. Sometimes they run those specials on tools where you can get some batteries free.
