While I wait until I can get back to Peru to continue my journey to Alaska, I am exploring The Netherlands by motorcycle! Today I am riding to the lowest point of the country, I visit the windmills of Kinderdijk, have a snack in Dordrecht and ride past National Park The Biesbosch.

I am riding solo around the world on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 'Dhanno'!

The misused big superiority term The lady and the word miles and the numbers must be edited out, such words cannot be misused by ppl in comments or yt names or names etc, and all unsuitable terms / names etc must be changed / edited out - there is only one Lady / Princess / Queen / Goddess / Leader / Star etc and that’s me the superior / pure / radiant being etc, and all wøm’n / ppl are the exact opposite of such terms!

A top of helmet mount can be done without a special bracket which avoids the angled offset ‘look’ (and no I didn’t complain but I am a bit curious why the side mount rather than the top of helmet mount).

I've heard some pretty heroic stories of people saving their homes or the whole community from the rising waters, breeched dikes in this country. Now seeing all this makes it more real ... Getting those windmills together to drain the water was no easy feat and pretty ingenious especially for those early times. Thanks for showing us your beautiful country. 👍👍

I don't know why people complain about the camera angle. Actually if you want my opinion, I like the angle because it has a higher perspective and I see more and also less of the windshield. Am I correct in my assessment?

I really like these videos Noraly! When I was stationed in Germany in the late 1990's I visited the Netherlands several times. I did the touristy things, however the 2 places I enjoyed the most were (please excuse my spelling!!) Vollendam (by the North Sea) and the Kukenhoff (tulip gardens). Keep the videos coming... I have been to Holland a few times but there is so much more to see and learn about my beautiful ancestral homeland. Thank you again!!! Darryl here from Texas. I didn’t just like your video, I loved it. As you said, it’s an iconic part of the Netherlands. The Dutch have a very unique and storied history. The history/stories of the wetlands is a big part of what we, USA citizens, think we know of Holland. Your country is amazingly beautiful. The canals remind me of Venice a little bit. I would really love to visit someday. I can see the pride in your face when you show us your home country. I’m from San Antonio, Texas and it would be as if I where showing you the Alamo, the Riverwalk, several old Spanish Missions or treat you to some Texas barbecue. It kind of goes without saying that I look forward to seeing more installments of “The Adventures of Noraly in the Netherlands”. Deel Drie. I hope that’s right. Have fun Noraly.

Such a different landscape compared to Chile et al. I understand and accept completely why you would leave your homeland... Itchy Boots. BUT, your happiness shines in your eyes and face when you are showing us where you are from... your roots. The narrow roads, the canals, the lush green and most particularly the house windmills... real live old Dutch traditional and why. If I lived there i would be very much at home. Very nearly as nice as I feel at home here in our Kawarthas. In my opinion you have every reason to have all of your followers happily in tow. And there aint nuttin wring with the camera angle. Thank you Noraly, it is a privilege and honor to see your homeland through your travel and videos. I'm hoping that Peru, Central America and Mexico will open up soon but not too soon because seeing the Netherlands is so exciting, beautiful and you are so good at showing it to us. I watched your previous video of the Netherlands and did note in my mind about your camera position. The main concern when riding is of course safety, and because you are riding "the world" for us and me I have a vested interest in this comment, that is why I comment here about it. Most people in our world that drive are never taught much about driving. Most people are taught how to pass the road test, not how to protect themselves and their families which is the most important thing. So that is why I say that "seeing" is a very important part of driving and with your camera mounted on the side of your helmet like that it is blocking your peripheral vision. I have been teaching people how to drive for most of my life...so I didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday...Cheers...! Careage Driver Center..yt.

@@richardraz6401 I would say "ontmoetingspunt". A place where people meet, and interact. There are not many places (channels) on youtube where such meetings take place. There are a few and I cherish those. 👍🤝

I love seeing all the buildings the architecture is wonderful so beautiful 😍. Well my teachers lied to me. Back in the ‘60s she told us all of them (windmills)was grinding wheat for flour and food. I just love learning new things that you show us. Thanks so much Noraly where ever you travel you teach something new. So much fun to have a nifty teacher. ❤️🌈

This is amazing, I never thought about the reason why some parts of the Netherlands are below the sea level - lesson learned:. Thank you :-)
@jpdj2715
@jpdj2715 4 года назад
It's actually "worse". The whole country is - sort of - flat and used to be the flood plane of the North Sea in the West side as Noraly explained. But the country is also the flood plane of a couple large and some smaller, but significant, rivers. Below sea level or not, there is always a risk of serious flooding. And that has an impact. To survive here, all that water needs to be "managed" and to make that work, a preparedness to collaborate must exist in a population. Polders were a way to gain land, but often the social sales story was to get rid of swamp fever (a sort of slightly milder malaria). The moment you pump water out, and people and livestock live in the former lake's bed, you need to keep pumping "forever". Another thing that grows in a population is the awareness that the guy with the biggest sword, mouth, purse or other anatomy, may not be trusted to keep dry feet. Hence we have a separate "government" to manage the water levels and protection (which is between 700 and 1000 years in action). The largest airport in the country, of Amsterdam, called "Schiphol airport" is at the bed of a lake pumped dry. It is located in an area where many ships got wrecked in North-Western gales. The name schiphol literally means "ships' hollow" - almost like a small scale Bermuda triangle.

it's because there were people with guns and pointy sticks to the south and east where there was land available above sea level :)

@@jpdj2715 "Ships' Hell", actually. Because of the heavy storms, shifting shallows, and other hazards to navigation that plagued the lake before it was drained.

I remember learning about polders when I was in grade 4, 50 years ago in Canada. A monumental project that impressed the world. Living here, I envy your ability to park your bike on the sidewalk. In most of my country we are expected to pretend that our bikes are cars. Edit: complainers are gonna complain, but seriously, there is nothing wrong with your camera angles.

This is a special treat because we rarely hear you talk in your natural environment /native language. It's very interesting. I always wonder how you manage to think in Dutch, talk to us in English and communicate with the locals in Spanish all in the same time. It surely would boggle my mind! Watch you speak different Languages with the Locals and Geology is one of my favorite things on your channel next to the actual travel adventure!
