Incredible...gives me the sound of those old knuckleheads...the way they would have sounded 71 years ago. It can still hold its own in traffic. Love watching the gear shifting and seeing the springer move up and down. Great!
Wow... what a nice ride ! One of the best "Riding videos" that I've ever seen. Turn the sound up, go into fullscreen, sit back and enjoy... Thank you Mr. Otsuka and greetings from germany.
I love these videos, I am a disabled veteran and former rider. These videos bring back fond memories of my days in the wind! Thank you! Keep up the good work!
Takes me back. My first Harley was a 39 Knuck EL that I bought in 1970. Mine was a three speed with reverse cause the original owner had a sidecar on it. I was the second owner but I didn't get the sidecar. He'd already sold it before I bought the bike. Sure wish I still had it.
Amazing how the Harleys kept their DNA, this bike doesn’t feel different from a current Harley, at least with the Evo engine. Fantastic that this bike can ride safely at normal traffic pace on today’s roads, thank you for sharing!
Well speed Limits are pretty low in japan compared to other countries. The expressway speed limit is 80-100kmh so about 50-60 mph, some straight two lane roads mostly outside of cities and some main traffic routes are 50kmh (30mph), but most normal roads in and around cities are 30-40kmh (20-25mph). To be honest, that’s the reason I bought myself a Harley here. You have all the power you need to have a good time on the road, but when you twist the noise tube you don’t get locked up in jail in an instant. Does not mean they can’t go fast, but a relaxed speed is somehow preferred by me when I sit on a Harley. Mine is not quite as old as the one in this Video tho „2012 FXS 96ci“ and the sound differs a lot between a twin cam and a knuckle head. I still love it tho ✌️
KuruMoto i agree. Compared to most motorbikes which need to be driven at illegal speeds to procure excitement, Harleys offer an interesting experience even at legal speeds
I salute Harley Davidson and the individual(s) involved for keeping that classic motorcycle road worthy. Having stated that, I for one am grateful that the method of shifting gears has evolved to what we have today.
I agree, perhaps my favorite ride, on my favorite bike, on the entire internet, so far. So relaxing, so informative, and all without one word of English. Well done!!
Mr. Otsuka. You are living one of my dreams, to own and ride a pre-war EL. Greetings from the state of Iowa, USA. Come for a visit sometime and we will go ride. P.S. I like the way riders in Japan get the old iron out and ride them, you have my respect. Cheers!
Now that is " Real Steel". I love that when sitting at an idle there is no detectable vibration in the mirrors. They truly don't make em like they used to. Awesome.
Nice one.. This one has a soul.! Good that someone hasnt ruined it! I always encourage people to keep the original paint job with their machines. It just gets better.
this motorcycle (Knucklehead) is my biggest dream in life. It will never be fulfilled, but I have come to terms with it. Greetings from Poland from an old vintage biker. I've been coming back to this video for years. Thank you!
you can buy a complete kit from V TWIN..or you used to be able to ,it costs about as much as a new Harley and you have to assemble it your self..its a running replica..I knew a guy that built one for his shop on display it was very cool!
Simply fantasc. Your video is quite inspiring. It's fun to see an old Harley active. His style is in line with is incredible machine. Always drive safely. All the best.
Sweet! Enjoyed the Ride Along! Just wished you'd walked around the bike when you got off of it and give us a visual. Next best thing to being there! Do some more ride-alongs!
This is absolutely Brilliant, what fun, thanks, I lost my bikes in an ugly divorce but lost a lunatic too. What a strong beautiful bike. ICON should build some.
