I've always wanted to ride my Vespa back to Portland since moving to Astoria, but never thought my 150 Primavera would be fast enough/safe to ride on the hwy. I can't believe I never saw this before! :D
Thank you for your time to edit and post all these videos. I've watched many. It's like watching a friend's videos. I recently watched your multiple videos of Mexico along with Scooterwest videos, watching both points of view was great. Anyhoo, again, thanks.
Nice scenery. I bought a Piaggio BV400 at the end of 2022, didn't have much time to ride what with the rainy season coming on.. I am looking forward to stretching it's legs this summer. I've taken some longer rides on my GTS 300 but I think the Piaggio will be a better Freeway commuter. Hoping to take a ride down the coast to Santa Barbara again.
I live in AZ, the desert hell hole of the country. I have relatives in the Portland area (Beaverton, Tigard, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, they move often) that I go visit once or twice a year for a couple weeks. I have driven up to Astoria at least 20 times, and crossed that huge bridge over river into Washington. I always wished I could do it on a scooter or motorcycle. I think Astoria is the most beautiful place in Oregon. Western Oregon is a beautiful place, too bad their politics are so messed up. I could never live there.
Thanks for watching! The screen does enough to cut down on wind fatigue while riding but larger versions may be better for folks who really want to have less wind on them.
Rad video guys! I've actually never been to Astoria, just by chance and so thanks. It could definitely use some background music and if you want, I could do it for you, or just send the tracks.....
just want to ask some questions is that primavera 125/150 or 300cc GTS version... any sign of overheat on your scooter ? seems like you have a really long trip
A RAM mount. The specific one I’m using is a GPS holder that’s spring loaded. There’s a regular size and an XL for larger phones. I love it. It’s easily operated one handed and the phone stays put!
Definitely used the wrong screenshot of the map. We did not take Highway 26 but you could do that if you don’t want to go Highway 30 to Scappoose and then turn left on the Scappoose-Vernonia Highway.
