As a Harley salesperson I really wished they used the tech from the Pan-America for the suspension. Would of helped so many short riders ride these bigger bikes.
@@BubbaSatoriI absolutely hate adaptive cruise control. I tried it recently in a car and it was the most aggravating thing ever. On the other hand, I absolutely love regular cruise control. As the owner of a Pan American S, the suspension on baggers would not only help shorter riders, but would just be better all the way around. It is pretty damn amazing in my opinion.
I like the new look of the Street Glide's fairing. But 121 CI engine? What kind of heat is that thing generating? Not that it matters because who can afford these rides?
You can..i just got 1 RG CVO...BASE PAINT..41K OUT THE DOOR..DEALER STILL HAS 2RG..2SG..MARKED DOWN TOO 39.999.00...3K BELOW MSRP...PLUS FESS..YOU CAN OWN 1...
Was really hoping for a reverse assist and electronic suspension. Also, hope these guys are more reliable. A friend of mine had a Heritage that broke down 5 times within a year. Each time needed a tow. All that said, the price is still insane. BMW R1250 RT and K1600 have similar if not better performance with a whole lot more tech. Not even going to mention Ducati sport bikes with their blind spot detectors. Really don't understand why Harley can't fit more tech on these flagship bikes. I really really love Harley touring bike but it is just so hard to justify that price with the amount of stuff you get.
I’ve had great luck with the M8. Crazy reliable even after I had a 131ci kit on it. Wish I never sold it. But the 117ci I have now is still as reliable.
More reliable ? I have an M8 with +40k km after 2 Twin Cams (included a 103 cc which I sold with about 80k km, 3 Sportys and even one 1340. Neither of them leaved me on the roadsite. Which was the case of two of the BMW than I owned (included a R1100RT and an engine which had a lot of recalls from BMW). About Ducati, I don't know since when you know them, but as an old biker I can ensure you that Ducati is far from the most reliable manufacturer of the market, even if they made some improvement this last decade. But I agree, H-D is not and never was the more tech brand of the market, and it's certainly not the reason why we love them.
@@pierrelederrey6636that’s the problem here, the original commenter new a guy who had a lemon, so to him the bikes are unreliable… all it takes is one person I had a r1200gs that was constantly having problems, but I understand mine was also a lemon. Now I have a ultra classic and it’s never let me down… Harley’s are reliable if you actually take care of them, like every other bike
BMW oil heads with 6 speed gearbox have inherent short clutch plate drive problems , failing Hall sensor & insulation problems and more Coupled with a refusal to acknowledge these by BMW Motorcrap Mine has always been cosseted by me not ever ridden hard , but now needs a life in my garage at great expense of time & money Bought my LAST EVER BM ! @@CindiB_Does_America I’ve seen all the HD knockoffs. I want Indian to do their own thing and go a different way than Harley. So I dont give the HD clones the time of day.
Hate to say ,leaving the engine upgrade and front suspension to one side, it lacks the traditional super high quality detail finish of previous CVO,s. In paint detail forks engine ect. 2 years from now the 2026 Street glide special will look identical, for 10k less
That’s the point of CVOs. It’s the newest tech and some “special” add-ons. Maybe some paint options. Then it all trickles down to the standard tourers.
@teensierpython-4565 There has been no new tech on past 4 years of CVO,s until now in form of engine and dash not sure what you mean by newest tech?. CVO,S have been about high detail finish everywhere, this one you have to pay 6k for nice paint option, nothing special about standard silver finish. I think they have not equaled previous CVO,s in detail of finish. And useds prices will reflect this 36 months from now.
Well, I don't think it's an _excellent review._ An _excellent review_ would have a few more negatives in there. We're mostly HD fans here and Harleys are god's gift to man and all, but an _excellent review_ should be more errr ... excellenter? S
@@sdefiel3719 The only negative I see is the in$ane Price. So if you want to nit-pick on Negatives, then you’ll just have to ride one, and decide whether that’s your style of riding and how deep your pockets are. 🤷🏻♂️
@@elithegreat6463 Some have the money, some don't. When one adds up all the customizations they put into their motorcycles, it can get to that $40K mark.
Another motor that might take years to fine tuned, how many years has it taken to figure out the m8,definetely a great looking design but will it burn oil like the m8?
I like them. However, I'd prefer more front and rear lighting for better visibility vs cars. I don't want to upgrade lights after spending close to 50G.
I wonder if they fixed the floorboard mounts and their propensity for leveraging the rear tire off the ground in corners. Other than that these look great. I'm wondering how these updates are gonna trickle down to the ST/Special/Base models.
@@mojomanmurph1925 You are correct. It amazes me that people think these cruiser/bagger/dressers should be able to lean over like a sport bike. Thats not what these bikes are made to do. “Oh but the goldwing” The goldwing is a SPORT TOURER and not on a traditional cruiser frame. You dont get a cruiser to carve corners. I dont get why people dont understand this.
240 miles on a tank? I gotta pee like a race horse with a bad kidney at about 175 anyway. Looked at it - decided to put a new top end on the RG I already own. $5k vs $43 w/no upgrades. Hard pass.
Incredible review!!! Question on Android Auto no longer supporting Motorcycles. I use mine weekly on my 2020 CVO Limited??? Are you saying it doesn't work on JUST these CVO's? Thank you
Very cool bike Block. Looks much better in my opinion with the new fairing. I hope Harley brings that into the newer CVO. Hearing your voice again without seeing you lol you like in my mind Justin Long, okayed in the movie ACCEPTED. clean cut guy lol.
great presentation, more information than I got from the dealership....by the way what brand pants are you wearing? (they look like they have internal knee protection yet look comfortable)
The are Alpinestars Copper Pro Denim pants. They have Nucleon Flex plus ultra-flexible armor at knee and Bio-Flex hips HDF stretch Cordura denim with aramid fiber. They are comfortable riding jeans. Super glad you like the video. I love talking about motorcycles!
They look good but they miss the mark, glad they made improvements that brought them up to par with other bikes that have been out for some time. The price is laughable but exclusivity isn’t cheap and the same buyers come back every year or two and buy another one of the latest CVO’s and good for them, used ones are the way to go, I’d wait for a little reliability experimentation on this new engine as well…
Love the look of the street glide, bloody gorgeous in my opinion. Must admit though, at first glance i thought the Roadglide was a Challenger! Nothing wrong with using something that looks good and works. Great video, cheers.
I am disappointed that these touring models, especially at this price point, does not offer adaptive cruise control. All of the major competitors offer this as standard on their touring and adventure models... It is nice to have, even for those who don't think they will ever use it, it is definitely a safety feature once you get familiar with it, especially on long straight journeys on the highways. Of course, you can choose not to use it, but it should be standard at this price. The rear collision warning especially, is a potential life saver....
$40k+ is reasonable? For a motorcycle? I'm guessing we're not in the same tax bracket or have the same priorities. I'll stick w/my '15 Yamaha FJR13000 and accomplish the same mission, only in a sportier fashion and save the $30k for other matters.
I don't know what everyone gets mileage wise but my 18 RGS gets over 42 mpg pulling a trailer lol. I have gotten 280 miles per tank before not pulling trailer
The best looking HD's I've seen in a long long time. The redesign of the the tank and fairing finally makes them look modern. I still think I would get an Indian (if I sold my house both kids and got a 2nd or 3rd job) because they still look more modern but this is a huge step in the right direction.
Great information, however Android Auto is not out of motorcycle audio. Let's be honest it is all about Harley Davidson and Android Auto not being able to come to an agreement regarding a license. The same happened when the new GTS radio came out. It is just a matter of time.
The streetglide looks pretty cool and all of the improvements are always welcome. I don’t care too much for the big forehead of the roadglide but I know it will grow on me just like the new Subaru WRX, which looked like a giant leap backwards but is kind of growing on me. Great video, thank you!
Nicely done review.. Getting burned out on the RU-vidr review… you know the one where they fly out the content creator and give them all access to the bike of course with a Harley Personnel accompanying the test ride. The review usually goes like this… great, best, new innovation, flawless, nothing could possibly make it any better, blah blah..
I firmly applaud the effort. Truly way better than before. BUT why not add the niceties of Brembo rcs master cylinders in brake and clutch and OEM Ohlins suspension. Better OEM seat and better bar setup. I would’ve bought it. No problem with spending $50 on the whiskey color. But if I buy a $50 bike, it’s shouldnt require another dime in upgrades. Even if I bought one of these bikes, I would still have to buy a seat and bars. Minimum.
Well then buy a bike thats made specifically for you right out the factory. Fact remains that they have to be able to make the bike to fit most of their audience. Saying negatives about the bike because you have to understandably customize it specifically for you is being disingenuous.
@@BlinkingKillswitch my point is that any BMW bike almost perfectly fits me, along with Ducati, any Indian (almost) fits me, Triumph fits, etc…. All of those bikes designed for the upright riding position are 12-20k cheaper than the new CVO (depending on paint color). Doesn’t even matter how tall the bike is, the rider triangle fits me almost perfect on any other brand I can get my hands on except Harley. My only bike is a ‘22 FXLRS, so I’m not just crapping on them to be negative. I’ve had to do the same thing to my own bike. The bars needed to pull back 3” to allow me sit upright and have a bend in my elbow. Now, it’s perfect. It’s not at all disingenuous to ask a manufacturer commanding such a price to engineer a better rider triangle from the factory.
@@MyFatherLoves Yes, it is. You bought a bike that didnt fit you perfectly and then get on here whining that it didnt fit you perfectly. You even admit that all the other manufacturers fit you better, but you still bought a HD. Theres nothing wrong with the rider’s triangle for most people. Yet, you get on here saying that they should make a bike fit YOU better. Thats like agreeing to get punched in the face and complaining about getting punched in the face. For 40k-50k the bike fits most people because it has to. If you want the bike to fit out of the factory then get a bike from a manufacturer that you mentioned and then you wont be so disingenuous about your complaint.
I ordered mine they day they announced there new model. Man do I regret it. The bike is small. @6'3'' i can't even turn the bike because the bars hit my knees. Less than 100 miles and back to the dealer it goes !! ... FYI as of now no bar upgrades.
No, they probably won't, I hope. If I wanted what the CVO is morphing into I would buy a BMW who has mastered that class. I have owned most of the brands and close to the top tier of those brands. No motorcycle comes close to the Vtwin air cooled experience, hence why I've owned so many Harley Davidsons. Great video!
Excellent review. Based on the MSRP and out the tdoor costs, HD absolutely must push some of these features, looking at the rider info system and engine improvements (not necessarily displacement), down to the base touring models, IMHO. Rushmore in 2013 and the M8 engine in 2017 were important upgrades, but it's now past time to start putting the advanced electronic features other touring bikes have had for a while into the Road and Street Glide Specials. The Road King can remain the purist option for the touring chasis, but if you're going full fairing, you should get the full goods IMHO.
And guess what?!?! There will also be a model just for you!!! The Dylan Mulvaney Rainbow Woke Signature Edition. Yes! The saddle bags come filled with Butt (I mean Bud) Light!! I am sure this models will suit you perfetly!! You and your rainbow tattoo.
I gotta say, the price suprises me. I was confident they would be over 50k. CVO's have been 40k for awhile now. This, money wise, isn't a bad deal. It's a CVO, superior to any CVOs ever made, for 2k more. Worth it.
While a huge improvement over previous models, this new CVO RG still has nothing on what Honda has offered for years except an additional 20lbs and $15k. The Wing will accelerate faster, ride better, lean harder, and stop shorter while still offering much more features. $6k for a paint "upgrade" is insulting.
@@JP-dw1fp Because I've owned multiple Harleys and I still have one I never ride. I ride my DCT Wing much more than I ever rode my Harleys because the ride comfort, acceleration, and overall experience is far greater after adding nothing other than a cupholder to it. I've put thousands of miles on both. Have you even rode a Wing? LOL
I’m a batwing guy, but the road glide feels a little lighter at very low speeds when turning. I prefer the controls and screen to be closer to me though on the batwing.
For $20,000 less you can get yourself an Indian Challenger Pursuit Limited. This has to be the most plain paint schemed CVO yet to date. Happy to see that Harley is finally putting an inverted front end and some performance stuff on their touring bikes. Dealers will be selling these for over $50,000 with their markup. Wait a couple years and you'll be able to get all these performance features on the standard street glide and road glide.
production in 2023 is better than before the footrest is raised when cornering does not touch the road, the trunk also turns fatter according to the status of the motorbike, Harley Davidson is a big bike. In my opinion, the road glide is quite handsome, it's just that the street glide is less handsome, from the front it still looks sleek..
Ive had many baggers and i can honestly say eventually they will be as good touring bikes as the goldwing. Still too heavy thought and not enough wind protection
I would like to see taller seat heights....I had a 15 cvo, chrome pitted 1st year....seat height is too low....love my ktm1290 and 2019 road glide but had to add $10k in comfort parts due to it being such a "small" bike in ergos...
I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Have you actually ridden a Ultra Limited? I have a 2019 and have ridden a couple other years - all very smooth.
Not changing that out of date frame is inexcusable. this leaves us with the same rotten geometry we have always had, the same poor rear shock options, and the excessive weight. They obviously went maximum low effort with these bikes. The VVT was always expected to meet future emissions, the new fairing was supposedly in development before the Revolution Max motored bikes and was suspended to focus on them, and finally we will end up with the only tour line without adjustable wind screens, remote locking (ultra and specials), and no mono shock. Inverted forks and radial brakes are parts bin choices for more competent brands and the upside forks have been around for a long time on other Harley models. with regards to the rear shock, the CVO does not count, what matters is the bike the leave everyone else with on the base and special models. Going to be real interesting how much CVO content is lost to reach a Special and base model of each line. Buffeting could have been nearly eliminated with an adjustable wind screens, BMW has had it since 96.... All this and the bags are smaller!!!! I am a Harley owner having waited years for this refresh and my disappointment should be obvious; going to keep the FXLRST for a long time BMW does far more on their K1600GT and R1250RT for far less than Harley has ever done or tried because Harley knows their buyers are exploitable.
“Rotten geometry” but police had been using the Road King and Electra Glide for year and years because of how nimble they are. You cant buy the bike and then bitch piss and moan about what comes with it. You go in knowing full well what the bike is and isnt capable of and youll stand there and whine that someone else is doing it better. Go buy that bike youre so fond of then and then go on Harley reviews and show your HD envy. Gtfoh
I'd like more information on the infotainment system. Do you still need to purchase a "WHIM" module and HD branded Sena headsets to integrate into the system. It's backwards nonsense like that, which is infuriating considering headset tech rapidly evolves while these in dash systems do not.
I'm sure these bikes are great, but even if I win the lottery there is just no way I am spending $40+ on a motorcycle unless I think it will be worth twice that in the future.
I thought the theory is if you want to make the handling better you need to change/work the frame - the rest (carbon wheels, suspension etc) is just cosmetic? This is the cheapest option again - being sold as radical, typical Harley
@@BlinkingKillswitch I have done my research. Why do most sport bikes have went to mono shocks? Because it works. Harley is afraid going away from tradition that they are hampered by it. Soft tail is mono shock. They need to change to survive .
@@BlinkingKillswitch You may want to go and do some research lol. When is the last time you've seen a Sportbike with dual rear shocks standard from the factory? Go ride a Harley touring bike hard through the corners and then go ride a Indian touring model hard through the corners. You'll feel and notice a huge difference between the two.
What kills me is, when Indian came out with all those things the HD community gave a huge yawn. Oh but now that HD has a bike with some of those same features. The HD community is jumping up for joy.
Yeah I agree. This is incredibly boring and still behind the curve. It seems to be no actual true innovation here. Which is not the worst thing in the world but It just seems like a More than $40,000 motorcycle should be absolutely flawless and I just don't see it. I can't believe they're still using the same old frame.
Hmm.. I love that air cleaner cover!! I hope. Hope!! This is better and replaces the heavy breather pipe. And I hope they add the 68mm throttle body ASAP!! At least as an option!!! Come on Suits. Wake up!!
I'm thinking the ST's and Specials will get most of the big updates (bodywork, suspension, brakes), and they might leave the base model with the its current configuration a bit longer.
It’s an advertisement. These bikes are actually small/cramped the apes make taller riders think we want to buy one. One kidney later we’re at the dealership with long arms & deep pockets too.
Paying $48,000 for a Street Glide is peak societal collapse. “Look winglets on the forks and a 6K paint job!” Man please! Is there a such thing as a Street Glide CVO Ultra Limited!? Maybe a huge ugly Tourpack would make the exorbitant price seem somehow worth it. Does it come with a trailer/camper!? You can literally buy a house in Belize for 50K. The crash is incoming I can feel it now.
