@@NonstopEurotrip Yes. Did they provide you a armed police escort only for train journey or they are with you for whole pakistan trip escorting you where ever you go?
@@NonstopEurotrip And 'Punjab' is not 'Poon-jab', 'Pun' is the same as 'Bun'. And I know, the Romanised Asian words are a bit tricky to be pronounced properly by a 'Gora Tongue'. 😊 If this place was spelled as 'Panjab', then most of the people would have said it as '🍳-Jab' 😂😂😂
We always complain about trains in India, but after watching Pakistani trains or overall it's train infrastructure, it feels India has made quite some progress in last 15 years, Though it needs massive investments in High Speed trains over the next decades.
Man Pakistan really has only managed to maintain British era infrastructure with no new improvements. While the poverty is sad to see, the positive attitude of the people is uplifting. There's something about wealth that generally makes people in better off countries really indifferent/ apathetic.
My son, while listening in when I was watching this video... Son: 'How come that in some countries, some people are very rich, and others are very poor?' I: 'Well, do you want to give your money to other people?' Son: 'No.' I: 'There you go.' Yes, it's disturbing to see, and I don't see a quick way out for Pakistan. High birth rates, high illiteracy, volatile politics, and a generally unstable part of the world. You can easily find friendly people everywhere, and still it may not be a good idea to go, as exemplified by the constant police presence.
@@NonstopEurotrip Pakistani politicians only serve their own interests and class, and the people are just their profit-making tools. It is very abhorrent.
@@Anee988 Pakistan and India are similar levels of dirty from what I've seen and the policeman is their protocol. They get so few tourists that when they do the like to make sure everything is ok. We could wander the cities with no escorts at all.
Great one 👌 It's a country that I probably won't be able to visit anytime soon (for obvious reasons 🤷🏽♂️😅), but the vlogs covering it are fun & interesting to see. Excited for the upcoming ones...
"Gilgit-Baltistan, formerly known as the Northern Areas, is a region administered by Pakistan as an administrative territory and consists of the northern portion of the larger Kashmir region, which has been the subject of a dispute between India and Pakistan since 1947 and between India and China since 1959."
6:31 its not silly in india , for 3rd AC Coach and 2nd AC coach you will get Your seats at the exact time of booking, but in 1st AC even though you have confirm tkt exact seat will be told 4 hours before journey BCOZ the family of 4 people and old people are given first prioritises, single boys are given last priority .
@@Sirikiller Yes. You have a seating/bed plan on the website and people choose what they want in booking. And you give an option to have a private room, by paying for both/all 4 beds.
Hello. I have several questions. that policeman was supposed to go with you to Karachi itself? if so, did you have to feed and feed him? and how was he supposed to get home? and do you think they were supposed to protect you from Pakistan or the other way around?
If you want a private "suite" then book Maharaja Express because in India a lot of people travel via train. I am glad that the "silly booking system" does that because there are "real people" who have to travel.
I noticed Bald and Bankrupt and Simon Wi!son also had police protection on their overnight train to near the Afghan border . This seems normal for western travellers.
Nice video but a couple of corrections... 1. That ₹ symbol is the mark of INR not PKR. 2. Indian trains are meant to be fully occupied. If you and your friend books a ticket ( in any class ) and one of you fail to show up then the vacant seat goes to the next 'waitlisted' passenger. ( Some ticket checkers are kind enough to turn a blind eye & not book that seat for someone else in case you genuinely need it for some reason or you're a foreigner or something ). IR isn't a luxury transporter, it's meant to be a mass transporter. And you are notified 4 hours before the scheduled departure anyways so it isn't a big deal for frequent travellers. BTW, didn't Superalbs took the Subak Raftar Express ? How did he end up with you on Tezgam ? 😂
easy access to the outside of the train was a nice bonus; that 'supposedly meatless' pizza looked legitimately edible (hope it was good) your train videos are always great, they've become my go-to for rail (and the odd non-rail) adventure.. dig the unique, pleasingly chilled vibe of your storytelling and delivery
It's bad that you can't get the exact seat , because like Airplane ✈️ you are not sure about your seat even tho you kinda booked it , similar with Indian trains because someone maybe also wants that seat or they need that seat for some reason. And they always provide information through website, app or message or email not like your beloved Pakistan where everything is Manuel. 13:36 that's doesn't consider ad poverty thi still but it's not specially for South and Southeast Asian countries.
loved the content ,6:30 umm unwarranted blows , btw that is to ensure physically gifted citizen can also be bennifited and family members don't get seprated .
I still have no Idea why Indians in the comments feel India is 50 years ahead of Pakistan and is just about to surpass china next year in terms of Railway infrastructure and cleanliness.
I was making videos in Porto when you did this journey! Amazing when I can connect it like that! This looks so beautiful! It’s amazing how perceptions can make you feel a certain way about a country! I would love to visit here
In india seats get filled very fast so many have to wait in waitlist.Seats are automatically assigned as there is an algorithm to maintain centre of gravity across all coaches
Amazing video as always! I love how you travel to many different parts of the world and not just the shiny popular ones. Helps put everything in perspective. Also loved seeing how friendly everyone was ❤
Interesting. What’s the protocol behind being given a police escort? Is this standard for Westerners … presumably for your safety? 🤔 Out of interest, do you and Superalbs share footage from these trips? Or do you keep it completely separate?
I have found it fun to spot when the other person appears in the videos. Distinctive shoes, the backpack .. small clues hiding in the footage that you can spot from time to time. There is some attempt to stagger the release dates of the videos but those small clues give the game away.
Exactly this. We do film different routes and directions where possible, and stagger release dates if not. But yeah we like to leave some Easter eggs in for you all 😄
can I interest you in going back to italy? recently trenitalia started operating these trimodal trains on his lines, and since i don't see any video on the channel about trains in tuscany, italy, you could try these trains on siena-firenze, siena-grosseto and siena-Chiusi train lines, all equally beautiful.
My main reason for going to Pakistan would be to visit the digs at Harappa. I read about the Indus Valley Civilization about 60 years ago and have always wanted to visit the site. Did you have the time to go there? I thought the armed escorts were rather interesting.
Unfortunately not Rick... But we did see loads of other historical sights, check out these tweets: x.com/search?q=from%3A%40nonstopeurotrip%20pakistan&t=knG9WIFP851sORtXBpzM2g&s=09
Loved the informative nature of this video, especially coming from an outsider’s perspective! I always watch these videos but from Pakistan railfan perspectives so it was great to have that of a railfan visiting! I’ve never done a train in Pakistan but my dad always told me stories of when he would travel by train in the 80s-90s from Karachi (Teagan especially). The Greenline is a train I’d be eager to travel on next time I’m there!
Can we all expect a personal policeman? I'm guessing its a proactive measure that the train staff and police made but I cant imagine everyone getting that privilege
Mind your language dear. It's not India's silly booking system. In India trains are in full demand and every seat counts. In Pakistan, AC business class almost runs empty and they would be more than happy and consider themselves lucky that an entire room is being booked. Hence they can throw discounts to any level. It's better to earn something than to run empty.
Not watched it yet but love your less than the normal places you visit. You need to do Southern tip of South America to Alaska by train ... easy for me to say. As an old guy thinking of taking my wife of 35 years around Europe this summer now that the trains are getting more and more toilets that don't just put it on the tracks. We seniors / silver track surfers love our conveniences ! You are an inspriration Mr Eurotrip. Cheers. All the best.
@@NonstopEurotrip It's a statement and not a question. It's a proposal to my foreign ministry. And I think it's not difficult to guess where I am from..!!
@NonstopEurotrip Check out! You have given a question and not any statement. We really need to crack down on those who has Pakistani stamp on their Passports.
@@rwfgh123 I'm sorry you don't comprehend English grammar correctly, but I won't hold it against you. I know it must be difficult. Thanks for watching my video brother and I look forward to visiting your country again VERY SOON!
Excellent vlog brotha I salute your bravery to visit a country like Pakistan. All I can say whatever this country is going through since that past 5/7 years are the repercussions of its own actions. Terrorism and Religious extremism are two main reasons for downfall of this country, I hardly doubt there is any future when it comes to railways or any future infrastructure projects in this country as these people believe in investing more in army / weaponry rather than feeding the 55% below poverty line population. Everytime I look at Pakistan I feel privileged.
Good Video. I'd love to visit Pakistan someday. You've to check out Lahore Railway Station which is built during British raj era. It's beautiful from what I've seen in the videos and looks so much like ol' Kings Cross Station.
This is a very good video of train travel within the wonderful country of Pakistan. For me the train is the best form of travel in any country. I have travelled by train in nine countries. I request you to travel by train in Bangladesh from Dhaka to Chittagong by train. Chittagong is the best city in Bangladesh.
The section from Lahore to Khanewal used to be electrified. The trains got up to a great speed on that part of the journey. Then much more leisurely on to Rohri Junction and real snail's pace to Quetta: a lot of steep climbs needing a banking engine.
I bounced in Punjabi ( and did the head-wobble!) I've met amazing Pakistanis, and some really not-at-all-nice individuals - it's a land of extremes, in so many ways! Go to the border station with India and watch the end-of-day ceremony. Utterly Bonkers, and utterly fascinating - the gymnastic abilities on show are well beyond anything I've seen in the Olympics. Also, such a huge variety of great food.
Absolutely yes, totally agree. And the Wagah border ceremony was one of the highlights! twitter.com/nonstopeurotrip/status/1747227523036160434?t=guZm2o1Pv1Vgjr4P2v3rEA&s=19
@@NonstopEurotrip yes but india is trying to improve fastly, and second you can't compare indian railways with pakistan, india railways I'd one of largest and transport 22million daily. We are redeveloping stations, make some sections of tracks upgraded to increase speed, new trains are being introduced, new dedicated fright corrdiers, 90% of tracks electrified, 20 metros, new rrts regional elevated train between delhi and meerut and even a brand new high speed bullet train is being built which is first time in South Asia.
bhrata log, kyu iske comment section mein gandh macha rahe ho! usne bas uska opinion rakha, criticism ko positively lena sikho. hum sabko pata hai humare desh ki rail ki halat inse toh behtar hai, har wakt inse tulna karna band karo bhrata log 😅 ye video toh apne desh ka hai bhi nahi. Do the research bro 1st. you can book a whole coup in 1st ac you have to select coup. never mind you just know tajmahal in india so I think that speaks all of it
6:31 totally agree with you... once I and one of my friend book AC first class to experience the coupe ... but chilly IR putting us with two strangers in a cabin... This need to be changed... I asked an official about it... he said to me boys are likely to be adjusted in cabins.... Bullshit reasoning....
Good Afternoon, Sir. My country is picture perfect, n don't forget the pros far outweigh the cons. Moreover it is is the Pivot of the sub-continent, strategically placed. In another 2 decades it will b one of the top countries of Asia. A general phrase fm the books, not for my country, though : When u r down, the only other way is up.
@@NonstopEurotripEven though I have complain a lot about Indian railways, but Iam really sorry to say that you're saying India has worse railway track litters than this. Definitely not. I myself have made long train journeys and have watched many Pakistani rail vlogs and Indian rail vlogs. India doesn't even come near to this! Even Pakistanis on visa travelling in Indian trains say that.
Shh how dare you say that to him. Foreigners generally prefer to show the most shittiest train they could find. Be it India or Pakistan. God forbid they show good trains.
Did you try the advice on "How To Get A Foreigner Discount On Train Travel In Pakistan"? (Still valid, as far as I could see.) Quite the adventure for you both, kudos! : )
I hope you find this constructive (as it is truly meant to be) - I enjoyed the filming but the narration is a bit too "naive wide-eyed schoolboy" There are times when you sound like a child who has just discovered poverty. When your experience is genuinely raw, new, utterly different or even overwhelming, I think a script delivered in a sing-song chatty tone isn't the best choice. I do like you vlog - I just feel that this one deserves more gravitas on tone and presentation. I sincerely hope you're not offended in any way. I have subscribed and I'll take a look at your other trips. Thanks.
He meant a single person won't be allowed to book a whole cabin to himself. And also it looks like Pakistan Railways gives you the freedom to select your own seats.
In AC first class....Seat number is alloted just 4 hours before the journey....So it is not confirmed that u will get a coupe (2 seats room) or cabin (4 seat room)....
