Cynthia Rothrock is a class act with the sense of humor you need to have starred in even one, let alone many of these kinds of movies. Just wanted to say something nice about her because she's probably gonna get ripped on.
YES! This movie was a staple of my friends' and my humor during mid-2000s college, and I've been hoping Rifftrax would take it to town ever since they riffed Honor and Glory. Thank you soooo much!
My two kids wanted ice Cream after daycare today, I told them sternly, "No Way, there's a new Rifftrax today!". They cried for a bit but I went to watch this, I'm sure they got over it!
Wonderful! Honor and Glory is one of my all-time fave riffs, both because of the riffing and the endearingly goofy charm of the movie itself. This seems to be in the same ballpark tonally, so I can't wait to watch it. Cheers!
0:27 Um, wasn't this EXACT scene in Honor & Glory, with EXACTLY THE SAME ACTORS? Please tell me I'm not going crazy. Also, I swear I saw a YTP of this once
Uh yeah I want to watch this. Thanks for the direct link! Okay, post watch: during the film I was like, "This has some amazing Godfrey Ho energy." Which means I just learned he *also* did Blood and Honor. Also, given some odd comments, a firm distinction has to be made between making fun of the movie and not liking it: this movie is incredible, everyone who was in it made me smile, and Cynthia Rothrock is a certified legend. The riff is just one more way of showing it affection.
Honestly? I genuinely enjoy Honor and Glory even apart from the riffs, so I’m looking forward to this one! My favorite riff movies are the ones that have their own cheesy charm
This and honor and glory are literally miles above Godfrey Ho's normal output, which is typically about 15 minutes of new material spliced haphazardly into existing films from Japan and Hong Kong. It would be great if Rifftrax could do more of his stuff, like Kickboxer From Hell (which has been uploaded to RU-vid for some reason).
Oh jeez. This film has two versions and a weird composite version that tries to combine both on RU-vid. The Hong Kong version of Undefeatable is called Bloody Mary Killers. It's Cantonese with English subs, and it has an extra subplot starring Robin Shou as a detective looking for a killer who fled from Hong Kong and is hiding in the United States. If anyone wants to check them out and the Composite, they're available to watch for free on RU-vid (Somehow?), but remember to clear your watch history.
i've said it before and i'll say it again: i miss when movies could have badass female protagonists without audiences constantly whining about "wokeness"
They don't whine when the female protagonist, and overall story, is well written. The issue is that most writers today are just awful. I would argue that most people like having bad-ass female protagonists.
@@tuckerbowen4626 Because when they get a badly written male protagonist, everyone mostly agrees it's a badly written protagonist and that's the end of it. Nobody creates a badly written male protagonist presuming that the audience should like him anyway because of his gender. They just failed at writing. You don't really get mad at someone who is earnestly trying but failing at their job, but you do get angry when the person failing at their job seems to hold a condescending attitude towards you. Cynthia Rothrock movies are low budget and cheesy, but they never feel like they hate their audience, so the audience doesn't hate them back. It's the perceived antagonism that's different.
