Hammock hitches = game changer! I need to get my hands on these. Would make things much easier, having to adjust the height for each person. Appreciate the video!
Hi, thanks so much for the info. I'm in the UK and have a very low ceiling (94inches/2.36metes) I'd really like to know what I can hang in this space. I'm thinking of getting silks as I can then transport it outside and also use it as a hammock, what can I hang for versatility please? Any advice gratefully received!
I hadn't heard of a hammock hitch before today. Is that because it's more common in the aerial yoga world? Would you recommend it for performing? I'd imagine it might wear more quickly than the O ring. It also seems a little susceptible to slippage for those of us who do wacky drops while spinning in our slings! Is that right?
Is the texture the same as aerial silks because I’m thinking of using my old silks as a hammock and getting a longer silk so is it the same or do I have to buy the hammock fabric or can I use my old fabric thx💕
Yeah I am doing the same thing. I have low ceilings so I purchased this opening swivel caribiner from Amazon. Aerial Practice has a blog post about this. I'm using that swivel and caribiner in one and hitches instead of rings or whatever. Getting a triangle caribiner as well to distribute the load better when using just one attachment point. Oh and I got a set of two caribiners for hammock.
Uuuggghhhh, I just got my silks in the mail. The rig itself is so long that it brings it lower than my Yoga swing that I have on a pull-up bar :/ I might just have to hang it like a hammock. Thanks for the tips ♥
Hi Olivia! While it is possible to rig a hammock using Aerial-8's, it uses more fabric and it is not as cost effective as the rigging options we show here. It also uses up more of your available height, and doesn't adjust as easily as a hammock hitch. Thanks for your question, and fly well!
