My mom was an old school trad wife. She raised a huge passel of kids, cooked great meals, raised fruits & veg, flowers for church, canned, dried, preserved food, sewed our clothes, raised, plucked and cooked chickens. She made decisions, plenty of decisions. She had a degree in library sci, worked all the way through WWII and after until she got married, and my dad deeply respected her and they were partners, NOT him over her. That stupid woman, Isabella Moody, is correct, she herself IS a stupid woman. But many other women are not. And never have been.

They should be… especially since their sperm counts are dropping like a rock, and our science is at the point of development where we could unite two eggs and implant in vitro and not need men. And the beautiful thing about that is women in that field of medical science are plentiful so we don’t need men at all.

My wife knew exactly what she wanted- she has a masters degree in fine art, a bachelor’s degree in architecture and has been teaching architecture for going on 25 years, shows and sells her work nationwide. Clearly this woman (sadly) speaks for her (woulda, coulda, shoulda) self. Sad.

The Handmaid's Tale is completely factual. Margaret Atwood based the entire story on various countries' treatment of women. What is happening and has happened all around the world. A real Gilead would be more terrifying than the one in The Handmaids Tale, which is horrifying.

I’m a 73 old female. I grew up with a mother and mother in law who had that belief. My husband treated me most of our married life like I should care for him. What a dummy I was. Then, “Designing Women” and I started growing up. So much changed after that. My husband didn’t know what happened. I changed, he didn’t.

My grandparents - who were the generation of your parents - still had that traditional marriage. Though my grandma was never the type to be silent or not voice her opinions but she had no idea about finances and only worked a few hours per week cleaning for someone. My grandpa would have been unable to survive without her because he couldn't cook or wash clothes or anything of the sorts. My parents had a completely different relationship. They both worked mornings together leading an insurance agency or their own, then my mother came home around 1 to cook and do such things while my father went to visit clients. They did the shopping together, my mom organized most of the finances, and they shared household duties on the weekends. All because of my mom because my dad was 19 years older than her (she picked him, not the other was around). Somehow my grandparents raised a rather modern and independent woman, and I wouldn't want a relationship that wasn't equal. Sure if one works longer the other can do more at home. That's fair. But the woman being submissive and me being unable to care for myself as if I was a giant toddler - that sounds terrible.

😂 OMG! She guzzled that Koolaid! I was in a medical career for years and some of the smartest people I worked with were nurses, most of which were women. They were the doctors brains when it came to patient care.
