In ethiopia, kids look foward to going to school and learning. I find it sad how our education system has made school an institution that kids despise and avoid. Maybe I would have more respect for the content of what I learn if the school system didn't jam it down my throat.
The Australian national Children's Commissioner, Megan Mitchell, says that all children have *inalienable* human rights. However, as far as protection from forced genital mutilation is concerned, she will, under no circumstance, speak up for genital integrity rights if a child is born of the male gender. So apparently it is okay to discriminate on grounds of gender. Genital integrity is always the one exception to the *inalienable* human rights rule. UNICEF, also, talks of *inalienable* human rights that apply to "all" children but will turn a blind eye when male children are genitally mutilated. It is clear that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child does not consider genital integrity an *inalienable* human right if a child is born male.
