I know this is from almost a year ago, but I think one of the light intensity comparisons was that the Rigid was mounted low, and you could see its light hitting a fair section of the hood. The Baja Designs on the other hand was hand-held, above the Rigid light. So, how much brighter was the BD over the Rigid really? You know. Something to think about for people who come across this video and see the demo.
He also put the BD light right beside the rigid light sitting on the hood.....the baja designs has longer throw the rigid has wider pattern. Puck ur poision and what u need for your application.
wrong camparison... it should be the rigid D-xl Pro (spot pattern)... the DSS you use is driving pattern... you could have use the spot beam pattern of the DSS
Not sure if you really know but you are comparing a wide driving beam in the rigid to a combo spot driving with the baja. I like both products although i own all rigid stuff but thats because i live down the street from them. Good video definitely look at beam patterns tho its not always about lumens.
I ordwred rhe rigid dss in flood pattern this morning. For 2 premium lights, that says a lot more avout the qualiry of the smaller dss to even warrant a comparison woth the twice as expensive bigger baja design lifhts. Youd expect yhat from them. This makes me even happier about my choice. Amd the rigids you xan tet amber covers that essentially make them more versatile for still half the price
If you got them from a second person and not Baja designs they might have opened the package and taken the bits that they needed to mount lights to someone else’s vehicle then resealed the package and sent it to you where Baja designs would’ve sent every think that should’ve been in the package to you but I don’t know what you did in buying them so I can’t say I can only say what I said as I have seen people at aftermarket 4wd places open brand new packages and take out part so they can use them on someone else vehicle then reseal the package and sell it off with only certain bits
I think that right there is a really honest situation… I like how he showed the missing hardware and less superior wiring on the same Baja brand. He goes on to give Baja a solid review on the light, reminding you the BaJa is twice as expensive
Yeah I can't get over the placement of the light during the demo. I agree with others that you have the Rigid light being absorbed by the hood... Not a side by side comparison to my mind.
That's a true statement, however I think the light output scales for each products ability to generate light regardless of whether you are measuring in lumens or candela.
@@tundraspecialops True... for raw light output. However candela also takes in to consideration the performance of the reflector (including its focus - spot vs flood). Nonetheless, i see your point: consistent methodology creates its own value in that all of the comparisons are now evaluated by the same metrics/perspectives. My opinion is just a thought. I appreciate your explaining your methods so i understand.
The were made by ace engineering, but it appears they don't produce that product anymore. Not sure why, it works great for me. I bought them for a wrangler JL a couple of years ago so not sure when they stopped production.
@@whateverfits1978 Still seems like the baja design was more spot than combo. You can easily see the side light on the rigid but not on the baja. I have never used baja but have used rigids and the spots on my cubes are really, really bright. For the diff in price, I would might buy a couple of the rigids.
@@whateverfits1978 wrong comparison... you should have use the spot beam pattern.... and wrong series of rigid... you should have use the D-xl Pro spot
They are both driving combo beams idk what ur point here is? Rigid has a wider because of the side shooter lights and a shit distance for the spot section. BD has no side shooter so its not as wide. But it has more throw distance.
I ve had rigid industries for years also i compare lights all day, but i run 2 Q series PRO and my lights SHIT on baja designs, and also have e series PRO 50" bar, and a 20" amber bar and 4 d series PRO spot/hyperspot dully system, and some flood d series PRO, and A series rock lights, i own the night
I'm sure your chinese rigids "shit" on the best lights in the industry. They hand pick the unicorn lights out of the rest of the chinese garbage rigid sends out just for you.
$700 !?!? WTF Holy @$#!% you would think they could afford a hair drier to throw some heat on that heat shrink. How much you want to bet they either pressure you or pay you to make this video disappear?
You have the majority of the light on the RI hitting your hood. Stick them out on your front bumper and you’ll see a big difference. Overall decent video but you get a 👎🏼 on your light comparison. RI’s should be spot pattern!
The aim is so horrible on the rigid... plus it needs to be mounted up away from the hood more. You're not even getting half of what that Rigid light will put out because of this.
Wow, two different beam patterns between the lights and the ridgid light was losing beam because of the hood. This is a crap way to promote the one you like 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
