I love both of your channel thanks so much for your activism. Ps my mum was studied with by missionaries too in the late 70’s early 80’s I wonder if they were thrown into the congregations more following the whole 1975 mess.

@@msbutterfly4365 there could be a correlation there I’m sure it had something to do with it because post 1975 was pretty crazy for the watchtower (rightly so)

Im also extremely individualistic. I also have extremely strong opinions, which made it hard for me to "put on the new personality". I can be humble. I can be kind. I can not shut up and ignore things i know are wrong. Which is what the jw version of the new personality is all about. Not being a good Christian, but being a good foot soldier for the watchtower

Yeah that whole “putting on the new personality” is synonymous with adhere to our teachings. The watchtower has abused So MUCH scripture...it’s no wonder at all that it has taken myself and other people to reprogram the lies they taught us for so many years. Scripture is beautiful but unfortunately some people have been so harmed by this cult that they will never reach out to Jesus again.

Excellent interview with Riley, and what woke him to the realization that he never had the true religion. It comes as a shock to us all when we understand we've been lied to, and the healing process takes time. But with counselling and new good friends we can have a good future. Thank you.

That was awesome,two beautiful souls.So sad that you both have family still in,but happy that you have found happiness and contentment since leaving the organisation.....incidentally I live 50 miles from Blackpool and can understand people wanting to direct you to London and trying to dissuade you from going to Blackpool haha.Please continue to do more interviews they are most enjoyable and pleasing hearing about their journey out of the cult.Thank you,take care and God bless.

When l was still in my mums funeral talk was the worst experence. I hated the whole talk. And l sat there thinking "this is so my mum" she would love it that all the relatives got a good witmessing to. But l sat there thinking lm hating that there railroading my mums whole life. Then at the gravesite they read one scripture and boom it was over. No one asked if one of my brothers would like to say something give some personal insite into her whole life. I think thats when my heart hardened towards organization

Christine this is heartbreaking, and obviously not at all the norm well in the real world outside of the organization. A funeral should be a way to remember, reflect and honor a persons life and the lives of those they had connections with. I’m so sorry that this was your experience. Your reaction to that funeral is totally justified.

This was a fun and interesting interview. I am sure it encourages other ex-jws and as someone who has never been a JW it is even more motivation to give the true Gospel of Jesus Christ's salvation by faith to JWs (Eph 2.8).

First time I went to a church I thought jehovah was going to strike me down. Literally. Wht is funny was the sermon was abt love. I heard scriptures I didnt know existed.

I’ll be honest Sharon I don’t remember anything from that first church experience except for anger and me being the biggest judgmental pharisee on the planet, my indoctrination was Strong. After that though it was a similar experience to yours I heard teachings and scriptures that were never discussed in the Kingdom Halls.

Here’s a bit of info on conventions. One of the first things that I couldn’t grasp is why did we always start with over 10k+ deficit? Well watchtower charges what they think will be a head count and charge what they think the attendance will be. Watchtower “light”ain’t free. lol Chaching!! Chaching!! Can i get a Rolex please??
