MICK BROWN! Dating my boss at an Italian joint in Folsom back in 88, right after Monsters O Rock in SF, the few days I happen to be in LA meeting my half-brother WILD MICK comes in the back of the kitchen meeting everyone and signing shit and I, one of THE BIGGEST DOKKEN FANS OF ALL TIME, missed meeting him...FFUCKKKKKK!!! Happy retirement brother!!! You are and always will be, one of the all time greats!!

As a 51 yr old and a teenager during the 80's I can't tell you how many times I watched the "it's not love video" with him set up on the back of an 18 wheeler. So epic, definitely one of my favorites from that era. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, fun and happy. Glad he's enjoying his retirement. He definitely earned it. Thanks for all the great drum tracks and music mick! You'll always be one of my favorite drummers.

Great interview. I was in hair bands for years as a singer/guitarist, and Dokken was one of my foremost musical influences. In listening to Mick today, it occurs to me that he’s a guy who truly understands and “gets” the concept of seasons in life. He lived through the rock n roll season, did a ton of influential musical art, and now he’s fully enjoying the next season in life. In the words of another great band, “Don’t look back “. You have to respect a guy who lives in the moment and knows who he is and where he should be RIGHT NOW. God Bless..

Im certain Mick is drinking a "mick brown" which is Jim Beam and Coke. I did a tour opening for LMob and we shared a bus and he always had a handle available and was always tending bar for those that drank (I never turned down a Mick Brown). There were times when he served up a "Wild" Mick Brown, and that was 15 ounces of Southern, and a splash of coke! Good dude! Great drummer

Thank you for arranging this! I met Mick just before Wicked Sensation came out, over at the Mason Jar, in Phoenix. I'm a huge Lynch fan and went there to meet him, but ended up talking more with Mick Brown. It's great to hear his perspective and what led to his decision, because all I've heard up to this point was speculation from former band members, etc. Mick's a class act and I'm very glad he's going great. Looking forward to Part Two!

You did exactly what the Full In Bloom podcaster did to producer Tom Werman: Bring up some personal trait of Ted Nugent, hoping the guest will take the bait & go off. But Mick -- like Tom -- expressed how working w/ Ted was actually an enjoyable & positive experience . You had the opportunity to ask Mick how it ended with platinum-selling Ted, but maybe you didn't care at that point. Some are left wondering. Mick was his longest tenured drummer...11 years! Anyway, good for you, getting this interview. Mick is pretty elusive & reclusive. Long live that classic-era Dokken lineup!
@shawnsdrumcave
@shawnsdrumcave Год назад
Yeah I noticed that, weird bating way of asking the question. Could have easily been "how was working with Ted" instead of interjecting what some people "think of him"

@SeanMcKenna-om9sd Год назад
I didn’t see that podcast, and you couldn’t be more wrong. I don’t do “bait the guest” interviews. I alway ask before hand what they don’t want covered and I never pull a fast one. I appreciate the feedback, as wrong as it is

I'm a guitarist, but I've been following Mick ever since his time with Dokken. The first Lynch Mob record, Wicked Sensation, is one of my all-time favorite records. The entire all kicksass. My favorite drums on that album are what Mick played on "She's So Evil". After that, No Bed of Roses, Wicked Sensation and Street Fighting Man. Mick just never fails to deliver exactly what the songs required! What a great interview. Thanks FYI - Mick, If you're reading this, me and my buddy were the guys that you and Oni kept pointing to in the front row, near George, recording that "In Concert" TV show. You gave me your drum sticks.

I hate to see these guys we all loved...cry and complain about traveling and setting up their own drums. I was still playing at 55 and playing a 9 piece double bass kit with tons of cymbals...AND a huge light show, for local gigs around where I live. I would still be doing it if not for a ear disease that is not related to drumming. I started playing at 3 years old, and joining bands at 17. It was my life...would still be if I could. Just like someone who tries to be famous and when they make it as a actor or whatever...they bitch about the attention.
@shawnsdrumcave
@shawnsdrumcave Год назад
It's not crying and complaining, it's reality. Dudes lived the rock and roll life for 4 decades, peoples bodies break down over time. It was psychically hurting him to play. You can't blame him for wanting to sit back and relax. I'm surprised thats what you took away from this interview, dude seems like a genuinely good person and happy. You can't comparing local gigs with traveling the world dozens of times over.
