this dlc changes the very nature of the game. you the player are no longer the omniscient demigod watching over his flock. now you are just the leader and just as in the dark about what's going on as your pawns. i really like the tension, but im not sure i like having my demigod powers of knowing everything on my map taken away. even when a hunting snow leopard is after you the wildlife menu will still tell the player where the animal is, now you have to listen for the sound and hope.
The invisibility mechanics will be very nice for creating cloaked Yautja (Predators). Assuming that someone chooses to resurrect the defunct Aliens vs Predator mods.
I do! And they're usually always long enough to get through the whole night. I hate when my autoplay will queue up a video that's totally different and louder that will startle me awake
Please don't be a kid and don't be 90 years old.... Storyteller: "Here's what you asked for; A Pacifist who doesn't care...and is also a cannibal" Adam: "-_-"
Love or hate the DLC, it sure adds a lot of variety to the threats you can face. 2 years into my first playthrough, and it feels like every major threat has been different. I just rebuilt after an insane assault by cultists, who summoned three separate flesh beast pits right in my base. Bodies everywhere, and it was like this long, complex battle with multiple phases, taking out multiple waves of flesh beasts, and then trying to patch up before the cultists themselves, with their tentacle arms and lack of pain assaulted the base. So far I'm pretty 'thumbs up' on the DLC.
I was dealing with cultists and cleared them out. But then it led into a flesh heart, ice age, and eternal darkness all at the same time. Finally got through it but lost 3/4 of my colonists
Really enjoying the changes to the game in this DLC. I think it's a fun way to raise the stakes in Rimworld, and can't wait to see the number of monsters added by mods in the future. Also I know you hinted at it, but a Melee Ghouls run would be so fun.
@@NewerSwagger-gp3hj maybe not only but more effective. For instance maybe infectious creatures that explode disease if not burned. You can kill it normally, but it's dangerous.
Not sure why Adam has such a hard time answering the question, “If you could remove one thing from the game, what would it be?”… Clearly it’s the pause button.
Recently I barely caught a few comments on other videos alluding to the creator struggle between revenue and integrity, specifically around Better Help. Adam's stated position 6:50:00 on Gamer Sups (however you spell it) over Gfuel is just one more of many reasons why I enjoy your content. :) Love it and hate it, social media content success depends in large part on the personality / personal branding of the creator. I guess this is a roundabout way to say Adam is an OK guy in my book. :D
I hope that he 1. Adds the missing cube edge 2. Fixes the arbitrarily coloured wall 3. Moves the top 2 cells down 1 to line up with the cube like the bottom cells and allow centring of the ritual 4. Moves the ritual up 1 to be centred
It's funny the starting 2 pawns I had in my run immediately got together, so I built them a double bed Boom, Pregnancy day 3 Should have done what you did and kept them in separate beds
This would have been a good dlc for cryo weapons. Having them be the most effective for capturing entities. Could be a decent weapon for slowing organic enemies and terrain modification.
A quicker way to finish off downed animals is to hunt them. Once they are down, set them to be hunted, set your pawn to hunt it and it will just go to the animal and it will finish it off in a second.
Yes, I know. And they will even immediately haul it back to the base as long as zones are correct. But I wanted to let the Ghoul have some fun in this.
I wish there was a better way to do it with melee pawns. I've had to do a lot of melee hunting because of a self-imposed challenge, and you have to choose between convenience with the constant "hunter lacks weapon" message, micromanaging, or wasting time finishing off animals with melee attacks, possibly cutting off body parts and losing yield. Would also occasionally be nice to have an option to finish off downed enemies quickly, although usually I either tend without medicine for a bit of medical XP or just ignore them, if I don't want prisoners.
Amount of time watched and percentage watched helping the algorithm. Well, I watched 100% of an 11 1/2 hour video so RU-vid will never ever give up on giving me more Rimworld content.
re Lovecraft, the guy was more than a product of his place and time, he was called out by fellow peeps at the time for his racism, like he was too racist even for that era. Anyway, loving the Anomaly playthrough, looking forward to more!
if a pawn gets inhumanization how do you deal with social things ? scratching my brain :D i think i found a good way using lobotomization they get half learning speed but 20 mood buff constantly makes it so much less likely to happen
OK Revenants SUCK. I had one hypnotize the colony child, and they are so tanky that my entire colony couldn't stop it before it stealthed away. I was playing on a large map, so there was no way I was ever going to find it to break the kid out of the coma. I feel like I can accept bad things happening if there is at least *something* I can do about it, but if it's going to happen and you're just powerless, it's just Rimwold God saying 'and then... they just died. The end.' It's on par with a meteorite hitting your colonist. It might be funny, but it's not fun. EDIT: Well I did catch it in the end. Holy cr** it's annoying though. Even with a bunch of chain shotguns on a fairly early colony I still had to chase it down multiple times with an EMP to bring it down.
It keeps coming back and you can follow it and then flare the general area where it went. I had no issues dealing with it immediately like this. It even leaves marks after damaged.
clearly theres a demand for village run, maybe some people never leave their house? one room for bed on room for crafting/cooking/whatever and a small warehouse. There would be separate people who haul between houses and fight
I think the DLC is good, but it should have been marketed as a scenario pack rather than a normal DLC like the previous 3. For one, the DLC has very minimal cross interaction with both the other DLCs and the base game. Generally speaking, if you choose not to mess with the monolith you won't really have much interaction with Anomaly in that playthrough. Similarly, if you do mess with the monolith you will likely have very little interaction with the rest of the game's content. This essentially makes Anomaly a scenario pack for a HorroRim experience that doesn't really add much to playthroughs where you do not mess with the monolith. This comes in contrast to the other DLCs which add plenty of content without forcing you down a particular playstyle. Royalty adds psycasts, which can be accessed even without going down the Fallen Empire path. Ideology adds, well, ideologies that every colony has to deal with even if they dont go artefact hunting. Finally, Biotech adds new xenotypes/genes plus extra Mechanoid content and children which naturally affect basically every playthrough. Ultimately, Anomaly is a well-made experience, but I would argue that it should have been made with either more cross-compatibility to better fit the theme of the other DLCs or been marketed as a scenario pack.
Seeing Adam build the usual 4 beds on one end table, and I immediately know someone will have a mental player breakdown at some point in the future. :D
My one gripe. He didn't pick an advanced study, so all the adv. points from the revenant, monolith, and devourers disappear for 9+ hours. (Tynan needs to store the points to be used if no study is chosen) Otherwise Adam's gameplay got me to redownload Rimworld and buy the DLC.
They aren't wasted, I explained the process several times. If you don't select an advanced study then those points go into a basic study. It makes your basic study faster. It states this on the study page. I did this on purpose to 'rush' out some of the basics faster. So, no, the points where not wasted. You can think of it like using an advanced research bench to research devilstrand or something. You don't need advanced research for it, but the advanced research benches points can go into that and unlock it. Hopefully that makes sense. Maybe I will make a short guide out of it since it seems quite a few people are misunderstanding it at the moment with it being so new.
@@AdamVsEverything Ah... going back I realize that it says so in the study menu I just don't see the grey text all that well I stand corrected. Thanks for clarifying.
Apparently you can assign two married colonists to single beds that are adjacent and they won't get the mood hit from sleeping alone, and it also avoids pregnancy
Last I checked, which was in 1.4 so it technically could have been changed, that won't work in a barracks. They need to have a private bedroom for that to work.
The wall thing comes from a full run Adam did without building or using any walls at all, not for rooms, nor for defense, or any other reason, and people kept coming to the stream asking "is x a wall?", like, are tables walls? are trees walls? are chunks walls? are map structures walls? is the defoliator a wall? etc, etc. So, it is an internal joke in Adam's community to ask if x is a wall whenever there is something new lmao.
This was the best dlc so far. But i did think that the new enemies were way too common. Bandits and robots felt really rare. Though maybe this doesnt happen if you dont activate the monolith
Also, I think that I remember the thing you are referring to. But I could not find it, and I believe that the event was much later than 10 minutes into the stream, perhaps around 30 min? If my memory serves me correctly, and I am thinking about the same thing you are thinking about, then I believe there was a dark pleasure kind of element mentioned before mentions of a machine God, which would explain the Slaanesh comment. Lastly, I am not sure how into 40k Adam is, but I know that he is very familiar with warhammer fantasy - and Slaanesh could equally well be a fantasy reference - not 40k.
@@morganacole Thanks for the clarification. I found the spot at 6:18. And yes there is a direct reference to the Machine God. But there is also reference to pleasure, and it's rewards, free love, and corpses - which I would link to Slaanesh.
How did he get a ghoul with a melee stat enabled? I rolled for like 5 minutes but all the ghouls were melee disabled which was a bit odd because the ghoul's description says they're extremely dangerous in melee combat.
If they haven't, you can try something common in Asian cuntries like lychee, aloe vera, nata de coco, coconut jelly type, or the "fake" bird's nest jelly, or guai ling gou etc. There's this famous one in Indo that's called tongkat ali. basically, its' pink and it's marketed as an aphrodite for men.
The enemies are very similar to the ones from the "VOID Faction" mod, and a lot of the new abilities seem straight out of the "Psycasts Expanded" mod. I wonder if those were also made by the modder that Ludeon hired.
Its a design flaw. Ending expects you to leave everything you have, even some colonists in a game all about your colony and colonists. The game doesnt even show what happens after your ship takes off. Its like a very anti climactic ending for a story you loved and you shaped
Please do not watch on multiple platforms. Many other options. Please download the stream and watch outside youtube, that is the real way to support this person. The poster will not be able to block Ladies from watching the Vod as well :~)
The main way I support adam is have his videos play in the background in playlists and stuff. I have youtube premium so no ads for me which is nice for when I catch streams too. Its the best way I got lol
I have 6,000 hours of RimWorld on here. No pause has nothing to do with base design. I've made every kind of base you can think of, even recently. Saying that after 1-2 series makes no sense. If I made the same bedroom and room block every single game I'd get just as bored/burned out. Here are some recent examples.
