I love that part at 2:10 from the scene where akio tempts anthy one final time before she resolutely rejects him. The song's vibe in that part perfectly encapsulates de dark eerieness of akio's surprise appearance but also anthy's quiet but strong resolve.
Still the Best... 1973 Seriously though such an amazing song, glad Goji73 felt it was worthy of inclusion in his reading. It's sure to point more people to RGU and that's pretty valuable.
@@imperialtower oops! Phahaha you're right, I listened back and didn't find a big similiarity too! Guess I have been tricking Utena people into listening to Ravel😂 The composer for Utena took ref from classical music all the time, which is probably why I made that association :) He used Beethoven/ other baroque music for the famous Yugioh theme song too
This could just be me hallucinating but after all the times I've heard this, the wordless vocals around the 6:30ish mark sound like Yuriko Fuchizaki (Anthy). I wonder if that's the case? Probably not but I'm curious now
Both Utena and Anthy sort of exchanged their looks in the movie- Utena's hair got curly, relembling Anthys hair and Anthy's hair got straight, inspired by Utena's look from the anime- I think it is meant to show that they have met in the past, even tho Utena might not remember it. It also shows that they have reversed roles- Utena is the one to get objectified and Anthy needs to stand against Akio to save her lover.
